About Marla
Meet Marla! Please read Marla's entire profile prior to applying, which includes a link to the adoption application. Thank you!
Mama Marla is going to make her furever family VERY happy. Her foster family here in New England just adores her! They say that she the biggest snuggle bug and is settling into their home very easily. Marla sleeps in the crate overnight for 8+ hours, without a peep. She gets along with everyone in their family, including their dogs and (older)kids, and snuggles all of them any chance she gets. She knows several basic commands and is extremely food motivated so would be easy to train. Marla has a great demeanor overall. While she seems completely house trained and hasn't had any accidents in her foster home, we never want to guarantee a dog is potty trained.
This hound/spaniel mix gave birth to the Field of Dreams Litter, and now it's her time to find her forever family! We rescued this sweet mama in rural Georgia and brought her up to New England at the end of April. We're loving her beautiful smile and those wonderful ears! The vet believes she is between 1-2 years old. She does have some working dog traits, so her ideal home will be someone who is active and has experience with like breeds. Because of her higher energy, while she loves older kids, we wouldn't want her to knock over little ones. Marla is spayed, UTD on vaccines, and she is ready to find a permanent family up East. Does this beautiful mama fit into your home?
Please note: The information provided is based on our Southern partner's feedback we have been given as of the day of posting. HHAR does not guarantee the breed mix of any dog or the adult size of any puppy. Any breed(s) listed are the veterinarian’s opinion based on the information they have, usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a Super mutt! All dogs are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. Any dog adopted from HHAR will require professional training once adopted to become the best family member they can be. Our dogs are rescued from high-kill situations in the South and brought to New England for foster and/or adoption. We are entirely volunteer-run and foster-based, so we do not have a physical facility for you to visit or call, and we cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken, crate trained, or cat/kid-tested. To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must fill out an adoption application. To learn more about our shelterless rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website. Pre-approved adopters can arrange a meet and greet for dogs over 6 months old who are already in New England, and the adopter is expected to travel to the dog's location. Applications must be submitted to HarveysHope.org for consideration. We estimate it can be up to a week before you hear from one of our volunteers, depending on the volume at the time of submission. Thank you!
