About Willow

Adoption Fee: $1200

Meet Willow!

Willow is a 3 month old mini red Poodle girl looking for her forever home.  She is kid and dog friendly, and has not been cat tested.  She would do best in a home with another dog to keep her company. She is playful, sweet and fun-loving, and obviously adorable!  She is not yet house trained or leash trained, but has started working on it with her foster.

Willow is a Benefactor Dog:

Benefactor dogs have higher adoption fees due to a combination of reasons: they may be a purebred dog, small sized dogs that are in high demand, younger age, etc. They are quickly adopted, even with their higher fees. Their adoption fees allow them to act as “benefactors” to other dogs in our care such as, senior medical cases we pull from local shelters to give them a chance at a new life, former breeding dogs in need of dentals and mass removals/biopsies, heartworm positive dogs, dogs with heart problems or broken bones.  Dog like Betty White who was tied outside of a shelter who is blind, deaf and in kidney failure, or Shadow who was a neglect case we took in recently.  We take in so many that require special medical care or procedures, and our benefactor dog program allows us to help more dogs that otherwise would not have a chance at life.

This allows us to get these other dogs the medical care they need, and gives them a better chance at adoption and a loving home.

Meet Boboli! Boboli is an amazing 8 month old French Bulldog boy looking for his furever home. He is dog friendly and would do best in a home with another playful dog. He is very smart very eager to learn he loves to play with other dogs he would probably do best in a home with another dog that is active and likes to play He is house trained, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. He is “Very smart”  he will cry and whine when he has to go out.  This little guy is so sweet and fun, and he can't wait to meet his furever family! https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/ Boboli is a Benefactor dog Benefactor dogs have higher adoption fees due to a combination of reasons: they may be a purebred dog, small sized dogs that are in high demand, younger age, etc. They are quickly adopted, even with their higher fees. Meet Lucky! He is an approx 10 year old Chi mix boy. He's a total sweetheart and loves humans. He does well with other other dogs but would be fine as an only dog as well. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines, and also recently had a dental. He is housetrained, and a totally cuddle bug!   Here is what his foster has to say; 10years young, UTD VACCINES,  house trained,  Chi Mini Pincher mix Biggest cuddlier ever Loves all humans, toddlers to elderly.  Loves all dogs Loves to burrow in blankets anywhere in the house No food aggression, but if another dog approaches his bowl he will give warning Very independent  Loves to sleep attached to foster mom, dad or one of the other dogs.  Sleeps through the night When foster mom kicks ball for to other dogs sometimes Lucky bites tip of sneaker to stop me from kicking but think it is his way to play. Just tell him no and he stops and goes to do something else Barks if my family dogs bark, he will chime in Barks when foster mom or dad first leave Loves walks Love exploring fences in yard Takes CORRECTION well Does stairs flawlessly Lives with 6 dogs size 10lbs to 65lbs, ages 3 to 17yrs old.  Not cat tested.  Lucky hates the car may be due to previous life.  He is extremely vocal when we leave the house without him.  Not happy, but mellows after a bit. So he would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time   Be careful leaving house, he will attempt to leave with you.  He barks ferociously when he wants you to pet him. Dont take as him being truly ferocious at all. He just wants all the love and attention! But can be a bit socially awkward in asking for it   Be gentle when attempting to pick him up. He may nip if he thinks you are coming at him to harm him. Probably something to do with his past life.  But if you go slow he has no issues and wants to be cuddled. He would do best in a home without small children but older kids are ok.  show less

Meet Riggs! Rigs (Rigatoni) is an approx 8 year old Yorkie boy looking for a female only home. He has never been reactive around men just becomes timid and skittish in their presence. He’s an absolute sweetheart who enjoys other dogs, and children with a calm demeanor. Rigs enjoys going for walks in his stroller and taking long naps in a cozy donut bed, He is so enjoyable to have around the house and has adjusted to both a very calm day to day life as well as a fun social life with many friends over, he will just relax in his donut bed. He has lived with two other yorkie brothers and a 9 year old boy, with no issues at all. Rigs loves to be held like a baby and will wrap his arms around you in a hug. He is trying very hard to learn how to play with the dogs and it’s adorable. His tongue 👅 is his trademark feature.  Rigs eats soft food because he no longer has any teeth, he eats in close proximity with his yorkie foster brothers and there has not been any signs of resource guarding at all. He likes to take a small treat and will nod his head for you to drop it in front of him, he doesn’t like to take it from your hand.  Rigs HATES a squeaker toy or anything that sounds like a squeak toy, that is predominately when we’ve heard him bark, (otherwise he doesn’t make a peep) and he will run around frantic trying to get away and hide. Rigs doesn’t play with toys but his foster fur brother likes to play with tiny squeak toys and that made Rigs very unsettled.  Rigs mostly goes to the bathroom outside but while we’re still working on that he wears a small male wrap diaper and does great with it. He sleeps in his donut bed on our bed all night and does wonderfully. Rigs will do one to two stairs but has not wanted to tackle more than that, we carry him up and down our stairs at bedtime and otherwise he just hangs out on the main level. He is very well behaved and has never once tried to eat, chew, or get into anything he should not.  He is neutered and UTD on vaccines.  He would love another small dog in the home to keep him company. Meet Taz! Please take a moment to read the entire post if you are considering applying for him. Taz just turned one last month. He’s a beautiful Aussie mix. Being a mix of two Herding breeds, he is intelligent, energetic, and certainly not a breed mix for everyone. He is also loving and eager to please. He knows sit, down, paw, and wait. He knows when you are talking directly to him, because he will tilt his head in acknowledgement. He sits politely for instruction. His favorite thing in the entire world is fetch. He will prance around with the toy of his choice for the day and plop it in your lap and wait patiently for you to throw it. He takes treats nicely from your hand. In the yard he does figure 8 zoomies back and forth from end to end. Before you click Apply, please read on. Taz needs to be a one dog home with no small children. Taz needs a dog parent or parents with Herding breed experience and this is not negotiable. He loves to play and socialize with dogs in a controlled setting in a neutral area like a backyard (no dog parks). Inside of the home he doesn’t like to share his space with another dog. Taz is currently living in a home with other dogs and has limited, supervised interactions with them but we believe he would do best as the only dog. We are doing the best we can with what we have for Taz in the current situation. But he needs more. In the proper home, with a knowledgeable and experienced owner, there’s nothing Taz won’t be able to accomplish. He has enormous potential and just wants to prove it to you. In their words, he is your typical Herder puppy. We understand that this means Taz won’t find his perfect home right away, and that’s okay. We won’t settle for anything less than his perfect match because this amazing boy deserves his next stop to be his forever. Taz’s wish list for a forever family would be to go on hikes and adventures even if it’s more walks around the neighborhood. He would love parents who would teach him more tricks and commands as he loves to learn them, and continue his training. Before his surrender he was on track to earning his Canine Good Citizen certification. We want to see him achieve that. We could see him excelling at Agility. A committed adopter who will keep his mind and body active is part of the keys to his success. If you have read this far and think you could be that person, please send us a message to discuss. https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/ show less
