About Hope - located in Texas

Adoption Fee: $495.00 - Under 12 Months Old Fee

Meet Hope. Hope is approximately 1-2 years old. She was picked up by a good samaritan with a badly broken right rear leg. She was taken to the shelter hoping they would help her. However the shelter did not. She was instead going to be euthanized so the good samaritan picked Hope up from the shelter and reached out to MAD Rescue instead.

Hope has had this badly broken leg for around 4 weeks and is unable to put weight on it or use it. MAD Rescue has agreed to take Hope on and get her the care she desperately needs for this broken leg. She has had the surgery and is healing well under the tender care of her foster.  More updates to come.

Welcome Akil to the MAD Pack.  He was surrenered by his owner who was moving and was unable to take him. He absolutely loves to fetch (ball is life!), and enjoys his toys. So far, he has done well meeting dogs of varying sizes and generally has good manners. He knows sit, down, wait, come, and politely waits at doors before going in/ out. While his leash walking skills are currently being worked on with his foster, he takes time to warm up to people when he first meets them (so slow, controlled introductins are a must).  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. "King" Arthur is a super sweet, low-medium drive boy, who has old leg injuries that are healing well. MAD got him out of the shelter and he's doing well. One leg started healting on its own and we also learned he has a bullet fragment in his other leg! He's still agile as can be even with the injury! Still can clear a 6ft fence. Because of his injuries, he should not do high impact exercises. He has decent drive and could do well with some low-impact sport like scent training. He thrives in a structured, boundaried home! He needs a set schedule he can trust, humans he can trust to teach him manners and who are not push overs but are also patient with him while he's learning. This has also helped with his crate training. His fosters taught him to find his crate from anywhere in the house when he's told to go there! He gets along best with non-dominant females. He's an excitable dog, so he need an experienced and confident handler! He likes kids and we think older dog-savvy kids would be good. He can also be trained to be good w/ prey animals.  He's a true velcro dog and just loves his people and sometimes forgets how big he is [lapdog anyone?]. He's a true protector, saving his foster mom from a coyote who was trailing them - he scared it off by barking at it. He will not leave your side! He rides really well in the car! Athena is a 8-9 month old puppy looking for her forever home. In her previous home she was mostly an outdoor dog and due to no fault of her own was listed on a Facebook rehoming group with no rehoming fee. Athena’s a smart, athletic pup that loves spending time with her handler and playing with other dogs. She takes a few minutes to warmup to new people but is handler focused and quickly decompresses. She is learning basic obedience, threshold manners, meal manners, loose leash walking and off leash recall. She loves playing with her tug toy, she’s learning impulse control and how to trade her toys for a cookie.  She plays nicely with her squeaky toys and does not destuff them. She has great crate manners and is always happy to go into her crate for a cookie. She’s learning that nail trims and baths are not scary but needs continued positive reinforcement to feel comfortable with grooming.  Athena deserves a home that will continue providing her with a positive and structured outlet for her energy while continuing to build her confidence in new environments. She’d make a great agility, obedience, hiking, jogging partner.  She has an unknown history with kids, cats or small animals. She’s non reactive to bikes, livestock (across the street) and respectful of small dogs.
