About Lou

Adoption Fee: $250

We can’t believe this little love hasn’t been scooped up! Lou (female) is also the last of her litter (from mama Sandy’s crew!), and finding a forever home of her own is her only wish for the New Year. Lou is just under 4 months old, and while we don’t know who her dad is…her mama is a heeler mix of sorts (we will post a photo of her in the comments) who weighs between 35-40lbs. Lou currently weighs around 15lbs, so our best guess is that she’d weigh around 40-50lbs full-grown (again this is only a guess!). Lou is your typical playful, rambunctious, feisty, fun, snuggle-bug puppy. She was a bit shy when she first joined her foster family, but she has really come out of her shell and found her fun-loving personality. Lou LOVES to run and wrestle with her 4-legged foster siblings…she would probably adore having a pup-sibling in her forever home! She loves kids, and with her young age would also do just fine with kitties as long as she has the proper introduction. She is doing very well with her potty-training when provided with a consistent routine (some transition time to be expected!). Lou is so happy that her siblings have all found their forevers, but she would love nothing more than to land a forever for herself. Let’s make her 2022 dreams come true! If you’d like to add this cutie to your family, please apply + reach out and ask for Lou! 🧡

How can you resist this beautiful face?! This gorgeous gal is Athena (female). She just happens to be in the market for her forever…and she would LOVE to be your forever BFF, partner in crime, and snuggle buddy. 🥰 Athena is 2.5 years old, weighs in at 60lbs, and is the prettiest pittie-girl. She is 100% potty-trained, kennel-trained, and is a smart cookie. She comes when called, sits on command, and trains easily with treats. She sleeps nicely in her crate, although she prefers to be by her humans…snuggling, of course! Athena LOVES kiddos! She is currently being fostered with multiple children, and she immediately took to the youngest (4 years old). She loves cuddling the day away, giving lots and lots of kisses, playing chase, and just being your shadow. She just absolutely adores people! When it comes to other pups, Athena can become protective of her toys, food, and treats. This is not a behavior she has ever displayed with humans, but if her forever family has another dog then they should be fed separately and bones + toys should not be left out until boundaries have been established and the pups are more comfortable around one another. She also does need a home without kitties. Most of all, we think Athena would LOVE to be your one and only! She makes an incredible companion, and she has endless love, cuddles, and pittie kisses to offer! She would love to land herself a home for the New Year…so if you would like to adopt this beauty, please apply + reach out and ask for Athena! 💗 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Athena’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This beauty is Barkley, and we are hoping that the perfect forever home is out there for this sweet girl. She is a special gal who has a few quirks, but let’s face it...don’t we all?! Barkley is 4 years old, and we are told is a lab/boxer mix, but it’s possible she may have some pit in her as well. She does well with all dogs that are around her size or larger. She hasn’t lived with cats, but she has been a little too interested in the cats she has come into contact with...so we are recommending a cat-free home. Barkley’s ideal home would be a calm household on a quiet street with minimal visitors and a fenced-in yard. She tends to get nervous when meeting new people, and her forever family will need to understand that she’ll need some time and a safe space (her crate) to allow her to warm up and be more comfortable. Once she is bonded with her people she also tends to be a bit protective of them, so may need to be crated if new people visit her home. Barkley’s foster mom says once she is comfortable with people, she is so very sweet, goofy, cuddly, and lovable! She loves bones, playing ball, and her stuffed toys. She is crate-trained, keeps a very clean kennel, and is fully house-trained. She also loves playing and snuggling with her 4-legged foster siblings, so Barkley would love another dog in her forever home to both learn from and bond with. She also loves going for walks, but does need consistency and continued training when on-leash as she does get stressed and vocal when meeting other dogs/people when leashed. Having some yummy treats along on her walks definitely helps! She will need an experienced owner with an abundance of patience and grace. We are also recommending no young children in the home (kids ages 15+ would be best). We know that her perfect home is out there...and we would appreciate you sharing her gorgeous face so that we can all help Barkley find her forever! ❤️ **If you have any questions about Barkley, please feel free to reach out to us! Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Due to no fault of his own, Bruno finds himself in-need of a new foster and/or a forever home. This guy is just an absolute LOVE. He asks for nothing more than a home where he would be able to nap and simply enjoy growing old. He is approximately 7 years old, but still loves going on walks + enjoys playtime whenever he can get it. He is fabulous with people and all he wants is 1) attention, 2) belly rubs, and 3) someone to snuggle the day away with. Don’t let his size fool you…Bruno is a lap dog. Just ask him! He would prefer to have his person/people around all of the time (because then he gets allllll of the attention!), but he is also 100% house-trained and kennel-trained if his people are not around. Unfortunately [due to lack of exposure at a young age], Bruno has no manners and just doesn’t know how to properly act around other dogs/animals. He would need to be your one and only and be the only pet in the home. He is also not a good candidate for the dog park. Although he does love to run around when possible, so a fenced-in yard would be ideal…this way Bruno can still enjoy playtime and adventures on his own turf. He has such a big heart and just wants someone who is willing to love him in return. His smile is so infectious; it’s just hard to focus on anything other than petting/loving him when he’s around! Come meet Bruno…you’ll fall in love! 💙 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Bruno’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Handsome is an understatement! There’s no denying our boy Danny is a looker. And if you’re in the market, this looker could be all yours…for life! 🥰 Danny is 2 years old and we aren’t totally sure what his breed mix is, but he has the most beautiful blue eyes, adorable spots, and brindle mixed in. It’s possible he could be a catahoula/pittie of sorts, but really your guess is as good as ours! He LOVES to snuggle, and is convinced he is a big lap-dog. He loves to play, loves to run around the backyard (and he would love a fenced-in one at his forever home), and loves treats. He is fully potty-trained, and when he comes back inside he sits down nicely waiting for his treat! Danny is as sweet as can be with human friends, but when it comes to other dogs he is quite selective in who he chooses to make friends with. He will play politely with some, but is very stand-offish with others. Because of this, he is definitely not a dog park or doggie-daycare candidate. He also would need to meet any potential resident dogs prior to adoption. Most of all, he would love to be your one and only pup-companion! However he is cat-friendly, so would be a good option for a home with kitties! He does need a home without chickens. He would do just fine with kiddos who aren’t super young, simply because he does tend to paw at people for attention…and his paws aren’t necessarily the smallest. ☺️ Danny is the sweetest, most snuggly boy. He may have a few quirks, but we are confident the right home is out there for him! If you think you’d like to make him your new companion + BFF, please apply and reach out. Just ask for Danny! 💙 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Danny’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip.  show less

Our boy Diesel is looking for a new foster (or better yet, preadoptive!) home. He is a 3 year old pittie (and we are guessing bassett hound) mix, and he weighs in right around 70lbs. Diesel is an energetic guy who requires physical + mental stimulation. He would do best in an active home to keep both his mind and body busy. He does great with other dogs of all sizes, so he would probably really love another 4-legged playmate in the home to help wear off some of that energy! He also does just fine with cats. He is potty-trained (but does need consistency in redirecting his desire to mark the first couple of days in a new home), kennel-trained, and is working really hard on his leash skills. Diesel does need a bit of help working on his manners, and would really benefit from an experienced dog owner + one who would invest in training classes to help him be the very best doggo he can be! He is sweet, playful, adorable, and he just absolutely loves everyone. He was found as a stray in Texas so we don’t know much about his history or past, but he would love nothing more than a forever who can provide him with guidance, love, and direction. He promises to repay you with lots of smiles, goofy antics, snuggles, and endless pittie love! 🧡 If you are willing to welcome this boy into your home as a foster, PLEASE private message us! Where are our husky lovers?? 😍 Gemma (female) and her sister Noel came to us from an Amish farm that needed our help, and they are now ready to start their search for forever homes of their own! Unfortunately much of Gemma’s past is a mystery, but our best-guess would be that she is right around 2 years old. She is a super friendly gal who is learning all about the good life of being a spoiled pup! It is unknown the extent of human interaction — and the home life — she had previously, but so far she has been super receptive and loves loving up on both the adults and kiddos in her foster home (although she may need a little help understanding her size around young kids, as she does tend to knock them down!). Gemma is your typical husky, and will require an active home with lots of physical and mental stimulation. Huskies are friendly and intelligent, but can also be somewhat independent and stubborn…so a person/family who is experienced with huskies and their behavior traits would definitely be ideal! And while we think Gemma could certainly adapt to being the only dog in the home, we think she would love having another canine companion more…as she really enjoys the company + spending time with her sister. To our knowledge she has not been exposed to cats, but our best guess would be that she’d need a home without kitties. Since Gemma has not lived in a home environment long, she will probably need a solid potty-training routine as she transitions to a new home. However she is an amazingly smart girl and we have complete faith that she’ll learn and adjust quickly! Gemma is an absolute sweetheart, and she is ready to settle in to a home where she’ll be forever loved, cherished, and spoiled until the end of time. If you think she’s the right fit for you, please apply + reach out and ask for Gemma! 💕 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Gemma’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Iris (female) is ready to ring in the New Year right, with a forever family of her very own! This little gal is a 3 month old (born 10/1/21) blue heeler/Aussie mix. She currently weighs 17lbs. Iris is an absolutely sweetie! She is curious, yet a little bit shy. One of her all-time favorite pastimes is snuggling! She is a fun and playful pup, but also thoroughly enjoys her cuddle-time. Iris does wonderfully with other dogs. Since she’s been around them her entire life, we do think — although not a requirement — that she’d really enjoy having another doggy playmate in her forever home! As of yet we don’t know that she’s been exposed to cats, but with her young age + the proper intro she should be able to coexist with kitties just fine. Iris has also been rocking her potty-training! She will need a continued routine, but when provided with consistency she has gone accident-free in her foster home. She also does just fine in her crate/being kenneled during the evening. She is a true sweetheart, and she would adore nothing more than landing a forever family to love and spoil her forever! If you think she sounds like the one for you, please apply + reach out and ask for Iris! 🧡 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Iris’ $250 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines to date, and microchip. show less

This beautiful babe is still searching for a forever of her own (it’s hard to believe, we know!). Kai is a 2 year old [best guess] heeler/pointer mix, weighing in just around 40 lbs. She is a happy, energetic, and playful girl. Kai tends to be fairly calm inside the house (loves to lounge, loves her squeaky toys, and chewing on bones, etc.) but gets more excitable and energetic once she is outdoors. Similarly, during the day, she is wide awake and full of energy...while after supper she is ready to just settle in and snuggle/keep you warm. She LOVES to run, and is lightning fast! When outdoors, Kai is very focused on her surroundings and/or movement, such as wildlife and people + dogs walking by. Her foster family feels that she would do best in a home that has experience with a high energy pup like Kai. She is such a smart cookie; she knows how to sit, shake, stay, and does a good job of minding her manners. She is crate-trained and fully potty-trained. Kai has also spent some time with our amazing trainers at Fun Fur Pets, and below outlines further the ideal home environment to ensure that Kai (in all her energy!) is successful: 1️⃣ Kai needs a fenced-in yard (6ft+).  2️⃣ Kai loves other dogs and loves to play with them, so any other dogs in the home should also love to play. She plays pretty rough, so will need dogs her size (40 lbs) or larger. She would also do just fine as an only dog!  3️⃣ Kai needs a home with no kids (ages 16+ would be ok), as she has herding tendencies and will likely try to herd/chase them. 4️⃣ Kai needs a home without cats, chickens, or other small animals. All in all, Kai is truly such a fun-loving, energetic, goofy girl, who has such a zest for life! More than anything, she just needs that perfect family who understands her and her needs. If you think that’s you, please reach out to us (or complete an adoption application at https://newleashdogrescue.com) to learn more about adopting this beautiful girl! 💕 **Kai’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This pretty lady is Roxy (female), and she is a 2 year old pittie mix who is in-search of her forever family! We don’t know much about Roxy’s past other than that she did have puppies at some point in her young life, and was found as a stray in Texas. This sweet girl weighs in right around 40lbs. Roxy loves to play and she is super smart! She knows all of her basic commands and is very treat-motivated…so super willing to learn more/new tricks! Roxy adores people of all ages. She is currently being fostered with young kiddos; she loves them and is incredibly gentle. She just LOVES her humans! When it comes to other dogs, Roxy does need a slow introduction (and on neutral ground is even better). She also does better with dogs who are her own size (40lbs) or larger, as once she warms up to new doggos she can be a bit pushy and she plays hard! Roxy loves going for walks. She does have a strong prey drive, so a forever family/person who is willing to work with her on her leash-skills would be best! She also needs a home without kitties. Roxy is fully potty-trained and crate-trained (and in fact LOVES her kennel!). She also loves car rides and makes a wonderful copilot. This girl is longing for a forever best friend of her own. Due to a change in circumstance, Theo finds himself in-need of a new foster and/or forever home. He is a 3.5 year old pittie mix who weighs in right around 50lbs. Theo’s ideal home would be one that’s calm and quieter. He is currently living in a busier house with several other dogs + children and this is just too stressful for him. We are recommending that Theo be the only pet in the home, as when other dogs are around he tends to get anxious, protective of his people, and can be reactive (toward the other dogs). Theo LOVES his humans, and more than anything he just wants to soak up all of the love and attention himself! Some of his favorite activities include car rides, walks, bones, playing with toys, and cuddling. He would be phenomenal with a single person and/or couple who is looking for a new BFF, walking buddy, and partner in crime. He does need his person to also advocate for him, as he can be nervous when new people come into his home…so he just needs some time and space to be able to warm up, and this is why a home with minimal visitors would be ideal. We know that there’s a home out there for every single pup, and that’s no exception for our boy Theo! He may be more introverted, but he is overflowing with love to give…he just needs the right person comes into his life. If you have any additional questions about Theo (and think he may be the right fit for you), please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! 💚 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Theo’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less
