Sweet Little Senior Betty! In November we pulled this little senior girl from the shelter. She was in terrible shape, hair overgrown, matted, covered in fleas with bald spots from itching. She was cleaned up and taken to the vet. All her vaccines were updated, Senior blood work complete and dental done. Her senior exam found a stage 4 heart murmur, xrays were done and at this time, the heart murmur would just need to be monitored with a visit to the vet every 6 months. Betty's eyesight is starting to cloud and hearing not quite as good as it once was, but she is in pretty good shape for a senior Love at 12 years old. She spends her days curled up on a large dog bed in front of the TV. She needs help getting up on the couch and back down. Once on the couch, she will snuggle up nearby. She goes outside to potty but doesn't like to be out long. She will honk to let you know she wants to come back inside. She is not a fan of the cold or rain. Anyone looking for a 30lb bed hog??!! Bonnie is 2-3 years old. A beautiful pointer/terrier mix (best guess). She enjoys snuggles and cuddles and hanging out with the other dogs. She doesn’t bother the cats in her foster home. Bonnie came to us after living her life outside with dozens of other dogs. She loves other dogs but was not socialized with people. Bonnie had been with us now 10 months and still learning. But was a soooo pleased with her progress. She still takes a little time to warm up to new people. But once she knows you can be trusted, she is all snuggles. She is not crate trained, absolutely terrified of the crate but does well just hanging out in her "safe room" on the bed or couch. A safe room is just a non traditional crate, It's a spare room in the house she goes to when no one is home or when new people are over. Bonnie needs a special home: She will need a patient person/family that will give her time to trust. Bonnie would do best in a home with another playful dog that could take the lead and show her the ways of the home. She freezes on leash, and will not potty on leash, so she will need a home with a fenced in yard. Mostly she need love and lots of snuggles. Bonnie loves to curl up on the bed and take naps. This precious girl is Clarabell. She is around 6 years old and still looking for her furever family. Clara’s life has not been easy. Her first home didn’t take care of her and she was confiscated by the state for cruelty. She was under weight and in rough shape. She still managed to love on everyone who nursed her back to health. She had to spend a good deal of time at the shelter while waiting for the case to go to court. Once the owner was held accountable then she was put up for adoption. The shelter staff was so happy that this sweet girl was finally getting a chance at the wonderful life she deserved. Unfortunately less than a year later Clara was found standing outside a storage facility in a panicked state. The police were called because she was so upset they thought her owner had succumbed to a medical emergency inside but alas no one was there. A few citizens stepped up and took her in to help her find her family that she so desperately loved and missed. The family was located but a reunion was not in the cards for her. from foster mom ... "This is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She has an amazing and calm disposition. She remains resilient and continues to put her whole heart out there for love. She has made amazing strides with the very understandable separation anxiety she experienced. Even so she would be best suited in a home where her family is home most of the day." She does like to play and gets along great with other dogs. She is perplexed by cats and it’s probably best that they remain a mystery and not be in the home. She has a great disposition for children but she needs a home with older kids. She would love to have someone that loves to cuddle with her. She enjoys sitting in your lap and napping too. She is potty trained and rarely barks. The only time I have heard her bark was when she was trying to get one of the other pups to play with her. She does have some allergies and will need to stay on a salmon based food, no chicken. She knows basic commands and enjoys showing you how well she does the hand shake. She thrives on positive reinforcement and lives to make you happy. This girl has faced a lot of obstacles in her journey to her furever family. Clover is estimated to be about 4 years old. She came to rescue very overweight. Her young owner moved to Flordia and left Clover with  mom  to come back for at a later date. Then decided life as a bachleor in Flordia was not ideal for his kitty and  decided it was best to surrender her to rescue. Clover lived the past year in her boy's bedroom waiting for him to come back. She did not recieve alot of interaction during that last year and just kind of hide from the world. She is a little slow to warm up but who could balme her??? Her whole life moved to Flordia and left her behind. Meet Danny! He is looking for a special adoptive home! Danny is about a year old and weighs just under 20lbs, could be up to 25 lbs full grown. He is FULL of playful, fun puppy energy. Recently came to rescue in need of some manners. He jumps up, bounces from furniture to furniture, marks the trash can (and other random items around the house).He needs someone who will teach/train him. He is cute and has soo much potential. He is working on crate training, but can be a little noisy in the crate. With crate training, his potty training skills are improving. He walks ok on leash, but not comfortable enough to potty on leash. He will need a fenced in yard, but if he is out unattended he will dig and go on an adventure. If he doesn't have a dog in the home, he will play with the cats and being so full of energy, the cats will not be pleased. He has been fostered in a home with cats and would be okay with a dog savy cat in the home as long as he has another playful dog to play to entertain him. He was too much for his previous family who only had him for one month and indicated that he was too much for young ( toddler aged) kids, but would do better with older kids in the home, but REALLY needed another dog to play with and get some of his fun energy out.... He has bounced from home to home over his lifetime. The last home one month...the home before that for 2 months… a home before that… and a home before that. We would like to have his next home be his forever spot. What he needs!!! A fenced in yard with supervised playtime, another playful dog in the home. Recommend children 5 yrs old and up. He likes to jump up and he is a little puppy mouthy at this time. Will steal snacks/ stuffies out of a toddler's hand. Someone with dog experience is a must!! He is not an easy first family dog. Danny requires light grooming every 4-6 weeks to clean up his legs, feet and paw pads. 5-7 year old Derek is such a love. Weighs about 15-20 lbs.  He is a little uncomfortable in new situations, but once he knows you, he will be your shadow for life. Derek's family was living out of thier car,  Derek was given a few weeks with a place to stay. His owners never came back for him and stopped returning calls. Derek went to the shelter, where he was scared. Once he got to foster care, that fear started melting away. He got into a routine and was house trained and crate trained in no time. He does great with most of the dogs in his foster home big and small, but in not a fan of dogs that like to get in his crate or bowl and can be vocal about it. We have started feeding him in his crate so he can be a little more comfortable. We feel that Derek would do best in a home without small children. Older and calmer kids would be better.  He loves car rides, pup cups, but mostly just being with his people. Diamond!! This girl is so full of personailty. She will keep you on your feet, or possibly knock you over with kisses!!! Diamond is 2 years old, about 60-70 lbs athletic built. She is a mixed breed. I see Pitty in her face but her long, tall kangaroo legs and longer thicker coat could possible be husky. She is good with most dogs. She would also be okay as an only dog as long as she had plenty of toys to play with. No Cats!!! She is excited to see kids and will run to them.She gets very excited and would probably knock over a small kid easily. 8 years old and up would be preferred. She has periods where she is energetic and playful and other times where she Just want to snuggle and be nearby. She thrives with consistency, structure and routines. First thing in the morning she is excited as soon as you open the door. She is ready to go out and run some energy out. She loves to play with her puppy friends, chase tennis balls and brings them back, frolic with a stuffy and play tug of war with a rope, leash, or tutu. After ten mins she is ready to come inside to eat breakfast and be with the family. Inside she looks for where her people are hanging out and wants to be on the bed with you, laying at for feet while your are working, or just hanging out near by. She gets a treat each time she goes into her crate. Frozen peanut kongs for long hours the days the foster family goes to work. She will rest quietly in her crate until the foster family gets home. She will be so excited to see you when you return home from a long day. She will go outside to potty but quickly run to you and possibly knock you over with hugs and kisses. When you pet she she will fall to the ground, roll over on her back and smile The kind of smile that can melt away all the stresses of a long work day. She requires a heavy duty crate to keep her contained. She would not be for someone that doesn’t believe in crate training or doesn’t use the crate properly. The crate is there to keep her safe while waiting for her family to come home! She enjoys her supervised fenced time/playtime and has learned to go to the gate and paws at it when she wants to come back inside. We Love car rides, she gets so excited seeing new things, just hops right in as soon as you open the door. We have spent a lot of time on leash walking. She still needs a little fine tuning and often times she will grab the middle of the leash in an effort to walk herself. Just part of her Diamond charm. adoption fee is $250. She came to rescue one day and had a litter of puppies the next day. Gracey was a great mom! Now that the babies have all been adopted, Gracey is working on herself. She has made a few friends, enjoys her days sandwiched between two little girls watching cartoons. When the kids are away at school,she hangs out with foster mom, the other dogs in the house and the household cat. She has become accustomed to all the good things in life: family, friends, big comfy pillows, couches and dog beds. She is still a little shy around new people, but ready to go home to the right home. She will need some time to adjust and would do well with a confident dog in the home that could show her the ways of the home. Hank is a sweet and happy little hound/beagle mix baby. He loves to run and play with the other dogs in the house but is also super happy playing with stuffies or chewing bones at your feet. Hank is about 8 months old and weights about 26lbs. Hank is still very young and very busy exploring his world. He loves pets and cuddles but needs lots of time out and about to check things out and run out his energy in a fenced in yard. Hank is house broken but working on not marking in the house, he was recently neutered which should help :)  Hank is still working on leash walking and crate training. He does fine in his crate but would much rather be out and about and hanging out with you. Hank would do well with a family with children who is active or another playful dog in the home. Dad is a 90 lb white German shepherd. They have longer coat and fluffy and very talkative like Husky pups can be. 6 females and 3 males. Things to consider.. 🐾They will be large 🐾They will shed (alot) 🐾They are full of energy, not for couch potatoes 🐾need supervised yard time and/or lots of long walks daily 🐾Husky are very Vocal 🐾Apartment living would not be ideal Adoption fee $300. Best Guess: Rat terrier about 20-22lbs but tall and lengthy not fat. 12 years old with good energy still. "He’s an easy dog, gets along with all my fosters big and small. Fine with the cats and loves people. He is very friendly and will reach out for affection. He is housetrained with no accidents as long as you stick to the routine you two come up with. I admit I was two hours late for our night time after dinner potty break and he had an accident but that was on me. I normally don’t crate my seniors instead they hang out in the living room that has tile floors for east clean up. Iggy has extreme crate anxiety (like rub his nose till it bleeds and pull your teeth out trying to escape anxiety. 2 hours in the crate when he first got here and I realized I had to have a different plan for Iggy.) The only quirk I have noticed is he doesn’t like when he is picked up under his front arms. But if you swoop him up from the side and carry him he is fine. Something I have noticed trying to help him get up on the couch with me. However he doesn’t really need help getting up on the couch he can and often jumps up on his own. The couch is his preferred spot to sit. He likes to curl up in the corner of the couch on top of the two pillows to be as comfy as possible. He deserves all the comforts in life." ~ Foster mom Vetting: Heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Senior bloodwork is good. Iggy came to rescue with horrible teeth. He had a dental and they pulled all but 2 teeth. Meet Jasmine! 2 year old Jasmine is one of the sweetest cats we have meet. She lives for attention. Could spend hours keeping you company getting pets and head scratches. She just can not get enough! She is a petite little thing now but starting to fill in. Jasmine is one of three cats we have taken in from a not so ideal situation. 13 cats lived in the home. NOT one is spayed/neutered. No vetting completed. And when they realized they had too many cats, they started throwing them outside. Jasmine was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and combo tested. Bloodwork shows she is sadly FIV positive Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common and consequential infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. Although cats infected with FIV may appear normal for years, they eventually suffer from immune deficiency, which allows normally harmless bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi found in the everyday environment to potentially cause severe illnesses. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans. The primary mode of transmission for FIV is through bite wounds from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections.
