About Sophie

Adoption Fee: $200

Sweet Sophie (female) is a Dogue de Bordeaux who finds herself in-need of a new home to spend her retirement. This gal is 8 years young, which as you know is definitely on the senior-side for her breed. Sophie is a big, precious, wrinkly sweetheart. While slow-going, she still thoroughly enjoys short strolls around the block…and she is GREAT on-leash! She does great with other dogs of all ages/sizes, is cat-friendly, and is also good with kids. There isn’t much that Sophie complains about…she just wants to find a forever that will spoil her to pieces as she lives out the time that she has left. If you think that’s you, please reach out + apply and ask for Sophie! 💕

This beauty is Barkley, and we are hoping that the perfect forever home is out there for this sweet girl. She is a special gal who has a few quirks, but let’s face it...don’t we all?! Barkley is 4 years old, and we are told is a lab/boxer mix, but it’s possible she may have some pit in her as well. She does well with all dogs that are around her size or larger. She hasn’t lived with cats, but she has been a little too interested in the cats she has come into contact with...so we are recommending a cat-free home. Barkley’s ideal home would be a calm household on a quiet street with minimal visitors and a fenced-in yard. She tends to get nervous when meeting new people, and her forever family will need to understand that she’ll need some time and a safe space (her crate) to allow her to warm up and be more comfortable. Once she is bonded with her people she also tends to be a bit protective of them, so may need to be crated if new people visit her home. Barkley’s foster mom says once she is comfortable with people, she is so very sweet, goofy, cuddly, and lovable! She loves bones, playing ball, and her stuffed toys. She is crate-trained, keeps a very clean kennel, and is fully house-trained. She also loves playing and snuggling with her 4-legged foster siblings, so Barkley would love another dog in her forever home to both learn from and bond with. She also loves going for walks, but does need consistency and continued training when on-leash as she does get stressed and vocal when meeting other dogs/people when leashed. Having some yummy treats along on her walks definitely helps! She will need an experienced owner with an abundance of patience and grace. We are also recommending no young children in the home (kids ages 15+ would be best). We know that her perfect home is out there...and we would appreciate you sharing her gorgeous face so that we can all help Barkley find her forever! ❤️ **If you have any questions about Barkley, please feel free to reach out to us! Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Due to no fault of his own, Bruno finds himself in-need of a new foster and/or a forever home. This guy is just an absolute LOVE. He asks for nothing more than a home where he would be able to nap and simply enjoy growing old. He is approximately 7 years old, but still loves going on walks + enjoys playtime whenever he can get it. He is fabulous with people and all he wants is 1) attention, 2) belly rubs, and 3) someone to snuggle the day away with. Don’t let his size fool you…Bruno is a lap dog. Just ask him! He would prefer to have his person/people around all of the time (because then he gets allllll of the attention!), but he is also 100% house-trained and kennel-trained if his people are not around. Unfortunately [due to lack of exposure at a young age], Bruno has no manners and just doesn’t know how to properly act around other dogs/animals. He would need to be your one and only and be the only pet in the home. He is also not a good candidate for the dog park. Although he does love to run around when possible, so a fenced-in yard would be ideal…this way Bruno can still enjoy playtime and adventures on his own turf. He has such a big heart and just wants someone who is willing to love him in return. His smile is so infectious; it’s just hard to focus on anything other than petting/loving him when he’s around! Come meet Bruno…you’ll fall in love! 💙 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Bruno’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This little sweet pea is Gabby (female), and she is hoping to soon score a forever family she can call her very own! Gabby is almost 6 months old, is a [best guess] boxer mix, and is just about as sweet as you can imagine! Her foster mom says she is a little wiggle-butt, and enjoys being part of the action/wherever her humans are. She gets along fabulously with other dogs (and would probably adore having another 4-legged playmate in her forever home!), does just fine with kitties (with the proper introduction, of course), and also loves kids! She is your typical goofy, rambunctious, happy-go-lucky, snuggly puppy, and would make an awesome addition to any home. Gabby is doing well with her potty-training, but with her young age she’ll need lots of consistency + positive reinforcement to establish a routine when she transitions home with her new family. She is such a sweetheart and has been waiting so patiently for her turn…we would love to make her wildest dreams come true this week! If you are interested in adding this adorable girl to your family, please submit an application + reach out and ask for Gabby! 💕 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’ve already been preapproved!).  **Gabby’s $250 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines to date, and microchip. show less

This boy here is Jeffrey. 🥰 He is a 3 year old terrier mix (your guess on that mix is as good as ours!) who is somehow still searching for his forever family. He is literally the SWEETEST boy you’ll ever meet! He is alllllll about cuddles, kisses, and being your lap-dog. Jeffrey weighs right around 45lbs, so he’s really the perfect lap-dog size (so you don’t get smooshed 😉). He is a playful and energetic guy who just loves to love on his humans. And another bonus, Jeffrey LOVES kids! He has been around children of all ages (infants included), and he loves them all equally. He is also fully house-trained and kennel-trained. Jeffrey does require another canine companion in his forever home, as he does struggle with separation anxiety when his humans aren’t around. He loves his people so much that he can tend to get stressed when they leave, but being at his foster home with two other dogs has worked wonders and his stress level has decreased tremendously. We also think having a fenced-in backyard would be beneficial for this boy, so he can run off more energy than his heart desires. Help us find this handsome fella a forever home…he has been so patient; we would love for it to be his turn! Just ask for Jeffrey! 🧡 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Jeffrey’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip.  show less

This sweet, SWEET girl is June (aka “JuneBug” or “JuJu”), and she is a 1 year old, 55lb beautiful shepherd mix who joined the New Leash family in September. Prior to that time, June lived her entire life outside on a chain…so she has really now begun to soak in the good life. If you look closely at June’s pictures, you can see that she has a deformed right foot/leg. We aren’t 100% sure how this happened (whether she was born with it, or it happened due to an injury), but this leg is shorter than the others. Sometimes June will use that leg, and sometimes she doesn’t. However it doesn’t seem to bother her, cause her any pain, or slow her down in the slightest! June is a super active gal! She would play, play, play all day, enjoys her walks, and really would do best with an active person/family. June LOVES people (kids and toddlers included)! Her foster mom says she is so incredibly sweet, and she loves to cuddle…with both her humans and other dogs! June adores her 4-legged friends and would love another active doggy friend in her forever home to run, play with, and to help burn off some of her extra energy. She has not yet been cat-tested that we are aware of. June wins over the hearts of everyone she meets! She truly is the most sweet, tender-hearted, fun-loving, happy girl…and whoever adopts her will be SO incredibly lucky! She deserves nothing more than the best; if you think she sounds like the gal for you, please reach out and ask for June! 💕 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **June’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This beautiful babe is still searching for a forever of her own (it’s hard to believe, we know!). Kai is a 2 year old [best guess] heeler/pointer mix, weighing in just around 40 lbs. She is a happy, energetic, and playful girl. Kai tends to be fairly calm inside the house (loves to lounge, loves her squeaky toys, and chewing on bones, etc.) but gets more excitable and energetic once she is outdoors. Similarly, during the day, she is wide awake and full of energy...while after supper she is ready to just settle in and snuggle/keep you warm. She LOVES to run, and is lightning fast! When outdoors, Kai is very focused on her surroundings and/or movement, such as wildlife and people + dogs walking by. Her foster family feels that she would do best in a home that has experience with a high energy pup like Kai. She is such a smart cookie; she knows how to sit, shake, stay, and does a good job of minding her manners. She is crate-trained and fully potty-trained. Kai has also spent some time with our amazing trainers at Fun Fur Pets, and below outlines further the ideal home environment to ensure that Kai (in all her energy!) is successful: 1️⃣ Kai needs a fenced-in yard (6ft+).  2️⃣ Kai loves other dogs and loves to play with them, so any other dogs in the home should also love to play. She plays pretty rough, so will need dogs her size (40 lbs) or larger. She would also do just fine as an only dog!  3️⃣ Kai needs a home with no kids (ages 16+ would be ok), as she has herding tendencies and will likely try to herd/chase them. 4️⃣ Kai needs a home without cats, chickens, or other small animals. All in all, Kai is truly such a fun-loving, energetic, goofy girl, who has such a zest for life! More than anything, she just needs that perfect family who understands her and her needs. If you think that’s you, please reach out to us (or complete an adoption application at https://newleashdogrescue.com) to learn more about adopting this beautiful girl! 💕 **Kai’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Hi everyone, Kate here! I wanted to check in again to let you know that I am still here waiting [ever-so-patiently] to find my family. Don’t get me wrong, my foster mama is AMAZING…but I keep hearing about this wonderful thing called “forever,” and I must say that sounds pretty great too. I know I’m not a puppy anymore, but I *promise* if you just give me a chance I am such a good girl; I will give you more love than you could ever hope for…cross my paws! I know it's hard to tell with my pretty face, but I’ve had a pretty rough go at life. I made my way to Wisconsin from Texas back in June with 12 puppies in tow. As if 12 pups isn’t hard enough on a girl, I ended up getting an infection and was no longer able to see my babies. That really took a toll on me, but some super kind people took good care of my pups and they have all moved on to find families of their own! And while I am SO happy to know this, I still can’t help but wonder when my time might come to find a family of my own. If you are looking for a happy, playful, confident, silly, sweet, and loving gal…look no further, I’m your girl! Let me tell you a little more about myself: I am right around 6 years old, weigh about 60lbs, am potty-trained, crate-trained, walk super well on-leash, and love meeting new people. What more could you ask for?! On top of that, I am smart…and I mean like SUPER smart! I would love to have a fenced-in backyard, but I also know how to easily escape fencing that isn’t tall & wooden, so do need to be monitored (or on a tie-out) if my family has anything other than this. I also kinda like the sound of my own voice at times, so would probably not be a good candidate for apartment living. And after all I’ve been through, I have also inherited a little sass (but doesn’t every girl?!?), and like to be the boss around my 4-legged friends. I would LOVE to be your one and only, but would also be ok with another dog who is more submissive and who can deal with my sassy bossiness. Ok…now that I’ve rambled on a bit, please please PLEASE share my beautiful face far and wide; it would be an absolute dream-come-true to find the forever family I’ve been longing for! Just ask for me, Kate! 💖💕 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Kate’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This precious peanut is Princess, and she would love nothing more than to land herself a family she can call hers forever. Princess is an 8 year old chi mix who weighs right around 15lbs. She is just the happiest little girl who absolutely loves everyone and everything! She is super cuddly, listens well, does great in her kennel, and is fully potty-trained. Some of her favorite things include belly rubs, chew toys, car rides, and relaxing outside on nice sunny days. She really isn’t the biggest fan of the cold/winter, so when that time rolls around she would really love some sweaters and blankies to keep her nice and cozy warm. Princess does suffer from occasional seizures, which we know can be incredibly scary, but she is on a daily prescription medication to help her in managing those. And have no fear, she takes her meds like a champ…if you put it inside a little piece of hotdog or cheese, she gobbles it right up! She does great with other dogs and we also think she’d do well with respectful children who are around ages 10+. She is hoping that someone who doesn’t mind giving her just that extra bit of care will fall for her adorable face, and will scoop her up and take her home forever! Just ask for Princess. 💕 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Princess’ $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Due to a change in circumstance, Theo finds himself in-need of a new foster and/or forever home. He is a 3.5 year old pittie mix who weighs in right around 50lbs. Theo’s ideal home would be one that’s calm and quieter. He is currently living in a busier house with several other dogs + children and this is just too stressful for him. We are recommending that Theo be the only pet in the home, as when other dogs are around he tends to get anxious, protective of his people, and can be reactive (toward the other dogs). Theo LOVES his humans, and more than anything he just wants to soak up all of the love and attention himself! Some of his favorite activities include car rides, walks, bones, playing with toys, and cuddling. He would be phenomenal with a single person and/or couple who is looking for a new BFF, walking buddy, and partner in crime. He does need his person to also advocate for him, as he can be nervous when new people come into his home…so he just needs some time and space to be able to warm up, and this is why a home with minimal visitors would be ideal. We know that there’s a home out there for every single pup, and that’s no exception for our boy Theo! He may be more introverted, but he is overflowing with love to give…he just needs the right person comes into his life. If you have any additional questions about Theo (and think he may be the right fit for you), please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! 💚 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Theo’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This handsome fella is Titus, and it hurts our hearts to say that he has been patiently waiting far, FAR too long to find a forever family of his own. Titus has a few quirks (let’s be honest, don’t we all?) but truly is SUCH a good boy, and sadly has been overlooked for months. Titus is a 2 year old pittie mix…and he is just as loving as he is handsome! He would love nothing more than to find his perfect home where he can hang out with his person during the day while they work, followed by nice evening walks around the neighborhood. Titus came to us pretty under-socialized, but he has spent the last several months working so hard on his confidence and has come so incredibly far in such a short amount of time. He does get pretty excitable when meeting new dogs, but if the other dog is quiet and respectful of Titus’ space then he tends to do ok. We feel that with the right 4-legged companion (based on energy + confidence level) he would be able to coexist with another dog just fine. However he would probably love even more to be your one and only! Titus LOVES his people, and really relies on his humans to show him the ropes, help him learn, and show him how to maneuver through life’s new experiences. He is fully potty-trained, kennel-trained, and does wonderfully (and is very polite!) when walking on-leash. We think Titus would do ok with kids who are a bit older (13+), but are recommending a home without young children. He also needs a home without kitties or other small animals. We would love nothing more than to start Titus’ summer out on the right paw by finding him a foster and/or forever home he can settle into.
