Abe and Teddy are a bonded pair of cats and they must be adopted together. Abe is 6 years-old, litter-box trained and does well with dogs and kids over the age of 6. Both Abe and Teddy are affectionate and like to cuddle up next to their humans. Abe is a bit shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he loves attention and can be chatty. Abe and Teddy will be adopted out with their favorite cat tower/tree. Have you ever wanted a cat that thinks he may actually be a dog? Well, then Abe may be the cat for you. Abe loves to go on adventures and spend time basking in the sun outdoors. Teddy prefers to watch from the window. There current caretakers feel the best place for Abe and Teddy would be on a farm, similar to their current living situation, where Abe can safely roam under the supervision of their new owners and a warm bed inside or on a lap to snuggle up to after his adventures. The suggested adoption donation for Abe and Teddy together is $90, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our animals in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Abe and Teddy into your home, please begin by submitting our adoption application.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. Ace is a very handsome, sweet, 2-year old boy who is looking for a new home that's as excited about life as he is! According to Ace's current family, his perfect home would be an active, energetic household that would provide Ace with regular walks, hikes, and adventures. Ace is a happy, high energy boy who does best when he gets lots of activity throughout the day... a weekly adventure like doggie daycare might be right up this boy's alley! Due to his beautiful, beefy bod and love for all things life, Ace would prefer a household without small children because he loves loves loves to play and, well, sometimes love hurts! Ace is very smart, friendly, and very treat motivated so he picks up on commands and skills quickly. He would be over the moon to find a home that has at least one other dog (male or female) that likes to run and play, whether that's tug of war, keep away, or just wrestling around! Ace needs some help with his leash manners but is otherwise set for family living -- he's crate trained and totally housebroken and ready to find his furever home! Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. The suggested adoption donation for Ace is $365. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. All donations go toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, providing supportive services to animals in homes, and funding for special programs like Muddy Paws Parvo Puppy Project. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Adeline, along with her mom, dad, and other siblings, was rescued from a very tough and sensitive situation, just in the nick of time! Muddy Paws partnered with other area rescues to find foster homes for each of these pups and, thankfully, all are now cozied up safe and sound and ready to start anew! Adeline is about 7 months old now and loves to be near her people. She gets along great with other dogs but does play rough so she will need a partner open to rough housing if there's another pet in the home. Adeline is working in perfecting the whole potty outside biz, she's just about there! She is crate trained, not thrilled about it but knows it's a safe space and thinks that's ok for short periods of time. Adeline currently lives with kids in her foster home and does wonderfully! Can she get a forever home with you? Before applying to adopt Adeline, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  The suggested adoption donation for Adeline is $465. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. All donations go toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, providing supportive services to animals in homes, and funding for special programs like Muddy Paws Parvo Puppy Project. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter to take the pet to be altered at NHS free of charge. Alterations are REQUIRED for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The contract states the alter must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or adopter will be in breach of contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alter to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately after the procedure is complete. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. Look, I'm gonna cut to the chase here. I'm a big girl, I'm 6 years old, and I've got a little baggage... Hey, some people say that's what makes life interesting! I'm a 6-year old German Shepherd/Malinois mix and when I was a puppy I got adopted by a really fun family. I got all my puppy out, went through my teenage years, and then one day my family took me on a car ride but they forgot to take me home. What happened, you ask? Wouldn't I like to know! Well, as you might imagine, I'm feeling pretty confused, nervous, and my anxiety is not helping matters; some days I don't even recognize myself. Feeling this way means I don't always express my emotions in appropriate ways, right now, but that doesn't mean I don't have it in me to be a good, loving family member... Don't forget, I was a part of the family for many years! Something I've been thinking about while I'm waiting for my furever home is that people always talk about animals not understanding boundaries but you know what? Sometimes people don't either! I can tell you this much, I do. not. like. people getting up in my face and I don't like being startled awake when I'm in a deep sleep. Being caught off guard like that makes me feel like something is wrong and that I need to immediately protect myself. I have a foster home that is going to take care of me very soon and they say that I am a very friendly and sweet girl. I know that when it's finally time to go to my furever home I want to be the only pet, even though I like to make dog friends sometimes. Also, I definitely don't want to live with kids; been there, done that, baby! Eh, that's just too much hectic energy for my style and it makes me feel nervous. I like an adult home with a very calm, laid-back lifestyle that doesn't have a lot of commotion or people running in and out. I still have lots of playful energy though, so maybe playing ball or exploring in the backyard sounds good to you too? I'm excited to get to my foster home and I'll be sharing more information about myself as life settles down! The suggested adoption donation for Anika is $365. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Annie was a young hound mix who found herself pregnant and on the euth list in an overcrowded Oklahoma shelter. Tagged for rescue, Annie made her way to a Muddy Paws foster home in the nick of time! Relaxed and safe, she soon gave birth to five adorable pups who have all found their forever homes! Annie has been working on getting back in the game, you know... giving birth.... dealing with a case of the heartworms... no biggie! Now that she has more me-time Annie rediscovered her love for cuddling, ear rubs, and splashing around in water. Anyone who will join her in on her hobbies is more than welcome to join her as she thoroughly enjoys company—human and canine. It may take her longer to feel fully comfy with feline friends, but they also like their time too she said. Kennels are also slowly becoming an acceptable place for her to rest! It helps if she gets her bed time snack beforehand, which she definitely likes to keep on schedule (along with every other meal)! Speaking of bedtime, Annie prefers cozying up with someone. She says the extra warmth will benefit everyone!  Finally, this little lady is ready for the life she's always dreamed of and ready to find her furever family! ANNIE STILL NEEDS TO UNDERGO HEARTWORM TREATMENT but the right family can chose to wait until her treatment is completed or foster her during the process.  Fostering after heartworm treatment requires keeping the dog kenneled or as quiet as possible while the heartworms are dying. The suggested adoption donation for Annie is $350. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. All donations go toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, providing supportive services to animals in homes, and funding for special programs like Muddy Paws Parvo Puppy Project. Archer and Gracie are a bonded pair of besties who are looking for a new home that has the consistency, space, and time to help them shine! Archer and Gracie are both great family pups who get along well with young kids but as active, young dogs they don't really understand their strength... they just wanna play and don't really understand why you wouldn't feel the same? Archer and Gracie need to exercise; they are playful, energetic friends who would love to find a home that has a nice, large, fenced yard where they can explore and sniff to their heart's content. Archer is a sweet boy who loves getting loved on, but needs an owner who will be consistent with boundaries and help him learn that some things (like kitchen counters) aren't for doggie paws! Archer never quite learned how to walk on a leash or how to tell his humans that he needs to go outside, so a human family that will be patient as this young pup learns to tricks is a must! Archer and Gracie are sweet dogs who just need a little extra polish in their lives! They are smart dogs with young, trainable minds and would love to find a family where they can spend furever together! Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. Asta is a handsome, approx. 2-year old, black-and-white male cat. This tough, independent little guy found his way to a kind stranger's house where he was cared for until he could be brought into rescue. As a young guy, living on his own, he learned how to depend on himself but now, after all this time finding care and support from so many kind people, Asta has learned that indoor living and a little belly scratch isn't so bad! Asta is currently on special food for urinary health but is otherwise a happy, healthy cat. His fellow foster felines often find him gazing out the window, reminiscing about his wilder days. Asta is hoping to find a calm furever home where he can be your one and only!  The suggested adoption donation for Asta is $65.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Aster is a 1.5-year old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pitbull mix who has beaten the nasty Parvo virus! Aster has been sick for a long time but those days are long gone. Aster's 110% ready to get out there and catch up on all the adventures she's been missing out on while healing her young body and gaining her strength back! Aster is a friendly, social girl with the cutest smile and while she connects well with humans she is not a fan of other canines. Aster prefers to rule the roost when it comes to having other animals around and should be the only dog in the home. Aster is anxious around loud noises and lots of commotion so she would like a home that has more of a calm, relaxed vibe with kids over the age of 12.  Before applying to adopt Aster, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls.
