About Mother Hubbard
Mother Hubbard came to us after giving birth, completely emaciated and had to nurse 10 puppies! Her teeth are filed down and she is covered in scars, which we are assuming she was likely a bait and/or breeding dog. After she weaned her litter, the vet discovered a mammary tumor and heartworm disease. She has been treated and is loving life in her foster home. Despite all of this, this 8 year old, 60lb girl is learning to trust humans again. While she seeks affection from other dogs, she prefers a more docile furry friend. A calm, quiet household would be her preference so she can relax and be the house dog she deserves to be. She will take a little bit of time to warm up to her new home and family, but this gentle soul is worth the wait.
Please note: The information provided is based on our Southern partner's feedback we have been given as of the day of posting. HHAR does not guarantee the breed mix of any dog or adult size of any puppy. Any breed(s) listed are the veterinarian’s opinion based the information they have, usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a Super mutt! All dogs are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. Any dog adopted from HHAR will require professional training once adopted to become the best family member they can be. Our dogs are rescued from high-kill situations in the South and brought to New England for foster and/or adoption. We are entirely volunteer-run and foster-based, so we do not have a physical facility for you to visit or call, and we cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken, crate trained, or cat/kid tested. To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must fill out an adoption application. To learn more about our shelterless rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website. Pre-approved adopters can arrange a meet and greet for dogs over 6 months old who already in New England, and the adopter is expected to travel to the dog's location. Applications must be submitted at HarveysHope.org for consideration. We estimate it can be up to a week before you hear from one of our volunteers, depending on volume at the time of submission. Thank you!
