About Brie - located in Georgia

Adoption Fee: $450.00 - Adult Dogs 1-9 Years

Brie's ideal home would have a person that is experienced with working dogs and patient. She is good with people she meets through proper introductions. She is good with kids. She could live with a similar sized dog of opposite sex. Smaller dogs, like toy breeds, are not her thing.

Brie is a petite Malinois girl, carrying herself at about 50lbs. While we are still learning about her, here are some of the key points her foster mom has gathered for us...

9/12/21 "Brie is a very sweet, food motivated, quiet girl. It's only been a bit of time, but so far she has shown us that she can ride nicely in a car, walk on a leash, accept treats from strangers and work for food. She was reluctant to go into a crate, but doesn't put up much of a fuss with a gentle lead inwards or a toss of a treat. Once she's in, she's quiet and lays quietly observing life around her. Her past life seems to have been lived outside on a chain, there were other dogs on the property, but no establishment of obedience and assumably minimal exposure to men as we've seen she is fearful of most. She is won over with food in most cases we've seen so far. I have not dog tested her beyond allowing her to greet other dogs through a fence. She doesn't seem to have issues thus far with dogs, even if they bark at her she will carry on without a second glance. We will soon find out how she accepts a bath. No interest in toys so far. Overall very affectionate, docile personality, will be a quick study in obedience training, seems to just need a bit of socializing and confidence building to make a very adoptable pup out of her!"

9/18/21 Update: "Brie has come out of her shell quite a bit. She is now comfortable with the male In the house and can be handled by him with no issues. She's been worked with on some obedience and has gotten the hang out sit, down, place and come. She's starting to play with toys more and true to the breed, loves a good game of tug. I have take her on another car ride as of today and she does so well. I have a crate in the back of my suv and she rides like a dream. We went to my Malinois SAR team training day where she saw many people and dogs pass by the car and didn't really mind. She would get uncomfortable if people got too close, but if she was quiet, there was a bag of treats left to drop in for her and she was more than accepting. She did not like someone sticking their fingers in the crate to pet her. Out and about she was not focussed on the barking dogs or people. She happily pranced around and did some work for food. A male member offered her treats and she was taking them from his hand. We ended on ther note since it was a great interaction for such a busy environment. Later she met my female mal on leash and was polite and casual. She has not been thoroughly dog tested. She will get defensive in her crate with both dogs and people, outside of the crate she is much more personable! This might be a suggestion away from small children in the home."

Atlas is a gorgeous 14-month-old Belgian Malinois who would love to find a family to call his own. He is very friendly and loves people. He is good with older kids but probably too mouthy for little kids. He is housebroken and is learning to wait at gates. He's learning to like crates as well. He's met both female and male dogs and has done really well! He gets a bit too excited when on leash but he's working on toning down his excitement.  As he is coming out of his shell, he is exhibiting more ball and tug drive. His trainer says he would make a great demo dog.  He really likes cooler weather and loves the pool! He's looking for an active home that can keep him physically and mentally stimulated! He prefers a harnesses. He will need a gentle yet consistent handler to help him navigate his adolescent years.  We are an official 501C3 organization that does not have a physical location. Introducing Brody, six year old Malinois from Miami. I was found wondering the streets. I'm a BIG boy. I weigh 74 lbs I am a medium drive Malinois. I love to be outside and just lay in the shade.  I ride well in a car I love to see where we are going. I play well with my 2 foster sisters, Xe (Dutchie) and Luna (Hound Mix). I am not a fan of small dogs. I am very comfortable in my crate, usually nap in the weirdest positions, I sleep in my crate so I do not get into things at night, I like it there it is my safe space, I will walk into my crate when asked, I do not bark while in there and have a great off switch. I know sit, down and stay. When I get excited am am very talkative. I walk well on a leash, but the shorter the better, I forget you are walking with me when I have a long leash and will pull. I'm interested in squirrels but they won't stay around so we can talk. I love children especially the ones that will play fetch with me. When I bring the ball back I sometimes like to cover it and see if you can find it. I am house trained. I'm looking for my furever family so we can play and go places together.  We are an official 501C3 organization that does not have a physical location. Cleo is a 70 lb., 1.5 y/o spayed female Malinois/GSD X. She is housetrained, crate trained, knows basic obedience, and is good on a leash. Cleo likes to wrestle, but is all business when it comes to training, giving her full attention to the task at hand. Her house manners are impeccable and she would never dream of counter surfing or dumpster diving! Slow introductions to other dogs are recommended, but she has integrated well with her male foster brothers. Cleo is an Alpa female, so would be selective or cautious placing with another female in the home. Cleo has a high prey drive, so no small children or animals; though good with older children! She is medium to high drive with an off switch, and after rigorous activity, loves snuggling with her humans. Cleo will need a fenced yard or a Malinois savvy home committed to consistent training. She is super smart, eager to learn, and the possibilities are endless for this young girl! We are an official 501C3 organization that does not have a physical location. She’s young, gorgeous, athletic and a great snuggler. Duchess is an 18-month-old Dutch shepherd/Malinois cross who's quickly coming out of her shell in her foster home. Duchess is a late bloomer with loads of potential. With her foster, she’s starting basic obedience, gaining socialization skills, tracking scents and learning that it’s pretty fun being a dog out here. She's sweet, affectionate and a little timid with strangers. But once she knows she can trust you, she loves to engage. She is social with dogs with proper introductions. With small dogs, she is a little selective. No cats for this girl, as she's likely to pounce in play. Duchess will do best with an experienced and active owner who can help her continue building confidence through patient guidance, obedience training and environmental exposure. She would make a great running, hiking and walking partner. She has high toy drive and food drive. She would do best with a couple or a female-only household with older teens or no children. Duchess is very smart and has quickly blossomed since she's come into rescue. Her ideal forever home will keep building on her gains to help her become all the dog she can be. Dusty is a gorgeous Malinois mix about 18-24 mths old who gives the best kisses! He is a big, strong boy who will need an experienced handler who can teach him manners and give him lots of love! Don't let his stature scare you off!! Underneath a tough exterior, there is a big goofy lovebug! He seems uninterested in cats - more interested in the cat food! He didn't care much about the chicken either. He is interested in dogs and lives with a Dutchie female. He will need very slow and proper introductions - this is not a dog you can just throw into the mix! Due to his size and lack of insight into his strength, we suggest no small children. However, he has shown to be very calm and well-behaved in the house. He's learning to walk nicely on a leash, he is doing well with recall learing and he is learning to wait for his food. He's starting to get interested in fetch! He used to be a yard dog for [probably] a drug house, thus he guards his home and yard! Any new people coming to the home will need to be properly introduced. Your yard guy cannot just meander into the backyard unannounced. Dusty needs to be with someone with working dog experience who will recognize signs and body language and be proactive, but someone calm in demeanor using subtle cues and correction. Is this you? Dusty sure hopes so. He is eagerly awaiting living his best life with a loving owner. We are an official 501C3 organization that does not have a physical location.
