About Brie - located in Georgia

Adoption Fee: $450.00 - Adult Dogs 1-9 Years

Brie's ideal home would have a person that is experienced with working dogs and patient. She is good with people she meets through proper introductions. She is good with kids. She could live with a similar sized dog of opposite sex. Smaller dogs, like toy breeds, are not her thing.

Brie is a petite Malinois girl, carrying herself at about 50lbs. While we are still learning about her, here are some of the key points her foster mom has gathered for us...

9/12/21 "Brie is a very sweet, food motivated, quiet girl. It's only been a bit of time, but so far she has shown us that she can ride nicely in a car, walk on a leash, accept treats from strangers and work for food. She was reluctant to go into a crate, but doesn't put up much of a fuss with a gentle lead inwards or a toss of a treat. Once she's in, she's quiet and lays quietly observing life around her. Her past life seems to have been lived outside on a chain, there were other dogs on the property, but no establishment of obedience and assumably minimal exposure to men as we've seen she is fearful of most. She is won over with food in most cases we've seen so far. I have not dog tested her beyond allowing her to greet other dogs through a fence. She doesn't seem to have issues thus far with dogs, even if they bark at her she will carry on without a second glance. We will soon find out how she accepts a bath. No interest in toys so far. Overall very affectionate, docile personality, will be a quick study in obedience training, seems to just need a bit of socializing and confidence building to make a very adoptable pup out of her!"

9/18/21 Update: "Brie has come out of her shell quite a bit. She is now comfortable with the male In the house and can be handled by him with no issues. She's been worked with on some obedience and has gotten the hang out sit, down, place and come. She's starting to play with toys more and true to the breed, loves a good game of tug. I have take her on another car ride as of today and she does so well. I have a crate in the back of my suv and she rides like a dream. We went to my Malinois SAR team training day where she saw many people and dogs pass by the car and didn't really mind. She would get uncomfortable if people got too close, but if she was quiet, there was a bag of treats left to drop in for her and she was more than accepting. She did not like someone sticking their fingers in the crate to pet her. Out and about she was not focussed on the barking dogs or people. She happily pranced around and did some work for food. A male member offered her treats and she was taking them from his hand. We ended on ther note since it was a great interaction for such a busy environment. Later she met my female mal on leash and was polite and casual. She has not been thoroughly dog tested. She will get defensive in her crate with both dogs and people, outside of the crate she is much more personable! This might be a suggestion away from small children in the home."

Bane was owner surrender for agresssion issues.  His foster is a trainer and is working with him to see what the triggers are, but has described him as loving, loyal and playful. He's confident and but cautious.  It seem like in the previous house time he was handled physically in a way in ways he didn't like. Very friendly towards kids and excited to see them. Very responsive around the other animals and people to person handling him. Resource guarding at this point but not severe. Biggie Biggie Biggie, can't you see?.... how adorable this puppy is! Biggie (brother to Drake) is the calmer one of the two for sure. He started a bit more shy but has really come out of his shell in the last week. Biggie is still in the lead for being the largest brother, only by 2 pounds. We are predicting these guys to be BIG boys given their current statue and supposed age. Both boys are working on their basic obedience skills- come, sit, place, off, kennel and release word "free". - they are doing very well! We are crating them separately and work with them independently to boost more confidence in each of them. They are exceptionally friendly with people and social with other dogs. Biggie definitely has the higher toy drive and loves to fetch toys and balls. Both high in food drive with great focus! Cleo is a 70 lb., 1.5 y/o spayed female Malinois/GSD X. She is housetrained, crate trained, and knows basic obedience. Cleo would make an excellent running partner, and after a good solid run, is great on a leash. Cleo likes to wrestle, but is all business when it comes to training, giving her full attention to the task at hand. Her house manners are impeccable and she would never dream of counter surfing or dumpster diving! Slow introductions to other dogs are recommended, but she has integrated well with her foster brothers and sister. She can play for hours with the resident dogs and tug is her activity of choice! Cleo is an Alpa female, and is selective with other females. She has a high prey drive, so no small animals. She has been tested with older children. Cleo is medium to high drive with an off switch. After rigorous activity, she loves snuggling with her humans; though when 9:00 p.m. rolls around, Cleo puts herself to bed!  Cleo has recently begun Scentwork training which allows for new experiences and greater focus. She will need a fenced yard or Malinois savvy home committed to consistent training. She is super smart, eager to learn, and the possibilities are endless for this young girl! Coco is a very sweet female pulled from a BYB situation in Washington State. She's friendly with people and just wants to be loved, but will get excited if other dogs get excited and thus is not likely suitable for a home with extra dominant dogs or small (Under 8) kids. She does enjoy belly rubs but needs structure to reach her true potential; she's had very little indoor time in her past so she's working towards learning how to live inside a home. She will be spayed prior to placement.  If you are interested in adopting this dog, please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic .  We are an official 501C3 organziation that does not have a physical location. Copper recently came into rescue. Her family's circumstances changed and her foster is getting to know her.  She loves to be loved. She will never wander far from your side. She loves praise and loves having a job. She has had professional obedience training and did very well. She does not get on the furniture unless you give her permission.  She needs a person/couple who are familiar with the need of the breed and will help her be more active and engage her mind.  If you want to see Copper light up with joy, just jingle her prong collar. She comes running at full speed from wherever she is when she hears it. Then she has been practicing her obedience she is completely focused on her handler with her tail wagging. It is fun to see her so excited to be working and doing something she loves. She is very smart and learns things quickly. She loves to please her person.  She loves her crate and is very comfortable there. Overall she has a low drive, but sitll loves to have a job.  This is partly due to a thyroid issue which is managed with a daily medication and diet. She gets along with dogs with slow structured introductions, but cats are a no go.  She will need a home without children.  They make her anxious as she doesn't like noisy, rambunctious unpredicatable behavior.  If kids are visiting, her crate is her safe space. She is working on building her confidence. She loves to go for car rides, but gets so excited to be going for a ride that she tears anything she can get her mouth on.  So she has to ride in a kennel in the vehicle.  If you're looking for a girl who loves to please, do obedience work and mental games, she will make a great member of your family. Do we have the lapdog for you! Donna wants nothing more than to be your snuggle partner for the rest of forever. She is eight years old, loves dog-confident people and is very much the chillest Mal/GSD ever. She needs less than an hour of exercise a day and would be perfectly content with a modest backyard. A great introduction to the breed. She loves snuggles, playing tug with her stuffy toys, and a good frozen marrow bone. She loves puppies but is not the biggest fan of dog socialization overall. She would do best as either the only dog, or with a puppy she can raise, or another older dog that's socially tuned in enough to leave her be. She is cat selective and people selective. She would love a quiet home with no children where she can love on one owner, or two with some time and proper socialization. She does best crated when company comes. Donna is incredibly sweet, is fully crate trained and housetrained, lounges and cuddles like a champ, walks beautifully on a leash, has mid-level obedience skills, and will gladly do anything her owner asks her to do. Do you have a chill home and a warm lap? Apply for Donna today.   If you are interested in adopting or fostering this pet, please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.
