🔴 PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD TO ADOPT BANJO🔴  Meet Banjo: Banjo is a 4 year old Plott Hound mix weighing about 75 pounds. He is a beautiful boy with his brindle coat and white chest and markings with the most expressive face. Banjo loves to be active and is a high energy dog. He enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, and playing. Most of all, Banjo enjoys cuddling with his people on the couch. He’ll be your shadow- all he wants is to be with his people as much as possible. Banjo struggles with confidence and anxiety issues, but has been working on these things with a trainer and will do wonderfully in the right home while continuing his hard work and an adopter that is knowledgeable with anxious dogs. Banjo is also very food motivated! Banjo is well versed in obedience training and knows sit, down, stay, bed, speak, and roll over. He is also muzzle trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Banjo would be best in a home with a single person or couple. Banjo gets along with other dogs, enjoys playing with them, and could do well in a home with multiple dogs but needs the proper introduction. Banjo would prefer a home with kids 14 or older. If you are interested in adopting Banjo please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.  show less

🔴 PLEASE NOTE MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME AND HAVE A FENCED IN YARD🔴 Meet Betty.  Betty is a six-year-old  American Pit Bull Terrier. Betty is the sister and litter mate of Billy who is also featured at Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue.  Betty has been home-raised all her life.  She did go to a new home for nine months but was reclaimed by the original owner and breeder because the new owner failed to provide shelter for her.  Other terms of the puppy contract were also ignored forcing the original owner to take possession of her.  Recently Betty’s owner was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension making it impossible to care for four dogs.  Betty is a spayed female, current on all her shots including rabies.  Vet records are available.  Betty loves kids and other dogs but is probably too much dog for small children.  She will be a great companion for children eight years and up.  Betty is housebroken.  She loves to go for walks and loves to play with her brother Billy.  She is very friendly and loves attention from visitors and strangers.  She settles down quickly after an initial introduction.  She loves human touch and really loves to cuddle in bed or on the sofa.  She and Billy will be wonderful additions to any family.  Betty and Billy are crate familiar but have rarely been crated.betty and billy are a bonded pair and would like to stay together. 🔴 PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME AND HAVE A FENCED IN YARD🔴   Meet Big Daddy! Big Daddy is estimated to be around 4 years old with similarities to a Black Mouth Cur/Anatolian Shepherd mix. He currently weighs 51lbs. Big Daddy was kept on a leash for the start of his life tied to a tree in TN. Big Daddy's foster mom describes him as so sweet with the cutest face. He loves attention from his foster family, and just needs some time to warm up to new people. He would be great in a home where he can get a lot of love and activity as he loves his walks and time playing in the fenced in yard with his 60lb pittie foster sister. He is good with the 4 and 6 year old kids that visit his foster home. He was not shown kindness during the years he spent on a chain, so he's hesitant with new people and will lower his head and cower temporarily until he knows you have good intentions towards him.  When he met his foster moms extended family, he needed a few minutes to get comfortable and come to them on his own terms, but he ended up snuggling on the couch with them by the end of their visit. Big Daddy walks well on a leash and is crate trained. He is housetrained and sleeps through the night without having to go outside, he only has accidents if he is left out of the crate when his foster isn't home. He is up to date on all his shots, and neutered. Big daddy gets along with other dogs and people. If you are interested in adopting Big Daddy please go to our website at Charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application. Fenced Yard preferred.  show less

🔴 PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME HAVE A FENCED IN YARD & BREED EXPERIENCE 🔴   Meet Briggs: Briggs is a 3 year old brindled neutered male pit bull mix. Briggs is a happy guy who enjoys being around people. Briggs has come a very long way in his trust in humans. Briggs is a very loving boy that loves people. Briggs has been through a very structured obedience clas for 6 weeks. All of Brigg's trainers love him and say he is one of the best dogs they have worked with.  Briggs is fully house trained and walks excellent on a leash.  When Briggs trains and walks with his trainers, his face is happy and his tail wags. He loves receiving praise for jobs well done and certainly enjoys treats as well. Briggs is extremely proficient in his obedience skills and workouts and really enjoys the stability, predictability and positive affirmations that they bring to his life. In our hopes for the best possible future for Briggs, we are seeking a person or couple who has a good balance of head and heart. Logic and love can and should live together to help guide him in the most positive, proactive and balanced way possible in order to teach him how to navigate this world… positive, fair, calm and balanced leadership. Love through leadership will bond Briggs to a new family and win his respect, love and loyalty.  Briggs has been with Tall Tails Training & Boarding for 6+ weeks and has excelled in his learning curve and trust rehabilitation. Counter-conditioning his previous experiences, de-sensitizing him to stress, instinct and impulse control along with building an inner calmness in Briggs have been the focus of his training program. Owner training (in the form of private lessons) is necessary and will be included in the new foster or owner’s experience with Briggs. Briggs shows great promise for being a wonderful companion with a loving and balanced human.  Briggs has a big heart and wants nothing more than to please you.
