I am crate and house trained and I know how to sit and am working on “down”. I get along great with other dogs, too. Do I sound like you could sing along with me? I hope so!

Hi! My name is Barker and I am a male Afghan Hound born on March 31, 2021 and I have a very special story to tell you. I'll let my foster do that: Barker's original owner brought him when he was about 5 weeks old. He was diagnosed with cerebellar hypoplasia which is a neurological condition where the cerebellum does not develop completely so he is unable to control much of his motor skills.Once the original owner found out his diagnosis, she elected to euthanize unless she could find him another home. That's when I stepped in and I have been fostering him ever since. We are currently going to physical therapy every week to help strengthen his muscles and the doctors are hoping that eventually, he'll be strong enough to stand all by himself! As of right now, I still have to help him up in order to eat and/or use the restroom. Since I've had him, he generally always cries out when he has to use the restroom but of course, any puppy has accidents. Overall though, he is pretty vocal about his needs. He gets along with my two dogs and two cats at home and sleeps with me and the pups at night. He comes with me to work and generally sleeps throughout the day for the most part. He is super loving and playful and has quite the bark when playing around with other dogs. I've noticed so much growth and strengthening in his muscles in the last couple months that I've had him so I'm extremely hopeful that physical therapy will help.  Here's MY version. I dictated it so my foster knew what I wanted to let you know: I'm a 4 month old Afghan Hound with cerebellar hypoplasia. That's basically a fancy term to say that I can't control my motor skills. My head bobbles a lot and at the moment but it only makes me that much cuter ;-) Right now, I need a little help doing basic tasks such as eating, drinking, and using the restroom but I try to always cry out and let you know when I need to go! I also love playing with other dogs! My foster mom has two other dogs AND two cats! I love them all and will bark when I play with them (hence my name). Overall, I'm pretty easy going. My foster mom brings me everywhere from restaurant patios to breweries to family gatherings. I get along well with everyone and loooove getting pets and cuddles. Sometimes other pets can get startled from my head bobbing but after a while, they adjust and we become best friends! I also love meeting new people so if you're interested in just meeting me, I'd be all for it! For adoption inquiries, please go to bthnm.org, find this pet’s picture and click on the Adopt button.   Hi!! My name is Peaches, and I am a little snow bunny!!! I am looking for an active household who will take me on long hikes and possibly even teach me to snowboard. Playing in the snow is my absolute favorite thing!!! I might enjoy camping and sleeping under the stars. I am a 2.5 year old corgi pitty blend, so I am short and stocky. I am very powerful but don't hold that against me...I walk very well on a leash. I have been to obedience training and am house broken. I am crate trained and will run right in for a cookie. I have been attacked by larger dogs so it takes me a little bit to warm up...can you blame me? I am good with other animals, but would recommend a household without young kids just because of my powerful nature. Won't you take me home today?
