I need a single family home!

Hey there! My name is Artemis, but you can call me Arty. I’m a 45 pound, 2 year old pittie mix. You may have noticed I’m missing a leg, but that doesn’t slow me down one bit. I’m the happiest, friendliest pup you could ever want! I always want to meet everyone I see and love them all. I love going on walks with my foster family and would love an active family I can go on adventures with. I’m great in the car and am good on a leash—I pull a little bit cause I’m just so excited but am doing much better on a harness. Toys are the best! My favorite toy is whichever one just got thrown, or whichever one another dog has (foster mom says I need to learn to share better…). Water is a lot of fun too; I love to chase water out of the hose or stick my head in the sprinklers. We just started working on obedience training, and I’m a champ! I listen well and just want to please, and learn quickly. I’ve learned sit, lay down, leave it, and stay already. I can get really excited, so I’ve been told I need to learn better manners—I’m working on it, but the world is just so exciting! I adore kids (they’ll roll around on the floor with me and I can give them kisses!), but sometimes I can play a bit rough. If I was supervised around little ones while I learn to play a little more gently, I would be fine with anybody. I haven’t seen cats, but I do love to chase anything so maybe shouldn’t be around them. I would -love- to have another playful pup to hang out with and play play play. Mostly, I just want an active family to hang out with and cuddle forever!

0221068 I need a single family home since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! I seem to be part pittie, so I can NOT go to a home in a city or county with pitbull restrictions.  Female 2-year-old Pointer (mixed) with Pit Bull         Hello! I’m Madeline, a sweet black-and-white Pointer/Pitbull mix! I have had a hard life, but for everything I’ve been through, I still am the sweetest girl! I get along great with other dogs and love to run and play with them; if you own a tough cat who will let me know it’s not nice to chase them, we will get along just fine. If you own a nervous or jumpy cat, I may not be the best for you. My foster parents have three cats- one I simply ignore and leave alone but the other two are so fun to chase around the house! I truly am a puppy at heart, I would love a family that will play with me and let me run around! Potty-training was no issue for me and I have it down completely, I will whine or go and scratch at the door to get your attention. I am a nervous girl at first- there are many things that will frighten me, but give me time and I will be just fine! Strangers are quite scary as well; I may growl at people I see outside the house, but if they come up and pet me I will wag my tail and love them right away! I just need the right people who will give me time to be comfortable with my surroundings! I’m an intelligent girl and my fosters have trained me with “sit”, “down”, “off”, “no”, “post (when I wrap my leash around a pole or tree and they need me to come back)” and we are working on “stay” and “leave it”.  I also adore cuddles and think I am a lapdog! I am the perfect buddy to sit and watch a movie with. I can be a bit mischievous and still need a bit of training (what can I say, all household objects just look like toys). I would love to make some memories and be your new forever friend! show less

0421002 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! We are excited to introduce everyone to MAXIMUS! 💙🐶💙   Maximus is a neutered 1 year old ish lab X (his paperwork says 5 years, but that is a definite typo!) with funny floppy ears & is a very sweet boy💙! He is currently living with older kids & 3 fur brothers. He fit right in at our house & gets along pretty well with everyone! Not sure about cats, but he hasn’t paid much attention to the bunnies we occasionally see in the yard.   Max is a mid-sized boy, weighing about 40-50 pounds. He is mostly house trained having a few accidents at first. Max is smart as a whip & very treat motivated! He has been through prison training, so has all kinds of tricks and skills! After several days with lots of sleep 💤 & yummy food 😋, Maximus has gotten more & more comfortable with his new, comfy, family lifestyle here in Colorado.🏔   Maximus came to DCCR with the many homeless dogs rescued from TX. He is in very good physical shape. He likes to run, chase a ball & wrestle like crazy with his 4 legged foster brothers. An active family who likes to run, take daily walks or hike would be a perfect match.   Can you be the one to give Maximus his “fur-ever” home?! 🏡💙🏡 show less

0421167 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! Hi my name is Mongo. My foster mom calls me Hugh Mongo Hefner because all the girl dogs here love me! Hugh Mongo also because everything about me is humongous!  Including my personality, but mostly my heart, oh and my big old paws. Sometimes she calls me Mister too, when I’m not paying attention. I’m about 1 years old now and probably 70 pounds. I don’t know what breed I am, but I could have some Pitty, German Shepard, maybe some lab, I look a lot like Scooby Doo, so I might even be part Great Dane.  It’s a mystery!  Not to be conceited but I am a very handsome and very strong. I’m still a puppy so I might seem clumsy at times, but that really matches my fun personality.  I have learned sit, shake, wait, in (for crate time), come , kiss and potty ( to go outside).  I really just want to make my person happy and with continued training I will be amazing.  I have a lot of energy, I love to run and play inside and outside.  Fetch is probably my favorite game, but I also like to play with my stuffies and take them with me on walks.  I like to snuggle and sit on my foster mom’s lap even though I’m too big to be a lap dog.  I like dog treats, mom calls them cookies, and I’ll do just about anything for one, yum!  Nice big bones keep me busy for a long time too.  I have a loud bark, and I’ll let you know if I want out of my crate.  When I’m out, I can be a little wild at first, but I settle down pretty quickly once I find a stuffy.  I do have some reactivity to strange dogs, so slow introductions will be important. I walk okay on the leash, pulling some at first because I just want to go, but I stop pulling after a bit. I’d love to have an active family, probably without kitty cats, or small children since I tend play rough and don’t know my own size.  My ideal Mommy and /or Daddy would be active. Some one who likes running, hiking, fishing or swimming (I love the doggy pool) would be a really great fit for me. A yard to run in that’s stocked with plenty of balls for me to chase would be awesome, like me!  So, that about sums me up, I’m a cool dude, wanna meet? show less

0621002 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation. I'm also heartworm positive. Heartworm is NOT contagious. The rescue covers the cost of treatment at the rescue's vet.    Natasha is a 3 year old, female, spayed German mix. She weighs about 35lbs. She is underweight and I feed her a high protein diet twice a day with snacks in between. She gets very excited when she knows it is feeding time and will stand on her back legs like she is dancing. She is heartworm positive and is taking medicine for that. Due to her prior living conditions her fur on her back is sparse. She was on an antibiotic for that and I give her fish oil daily. Natasha lived her first three years on a chain, outside in horrible conditions. With that being said she loves human contact and always wants to be near you. She has never walked on a floor or carpet, she has this cute prance to her when she walks on them. She will need someone with patience to train her on a leash and walks. She is skittish when she sees the leash and backs up. I think it is because of the chain. She gets along very well with my 4 other dogs. She is learning on how to use the doggie door. She is not sure how to play with doggie toys. I think she never had them in the past. She does very well in a crate and sleeps in one at night with a blanket over it for a calming atmosphere. She is a very loving dog and stays right by you. show less
