About Harry

Adoption Fee: $350.00

**We are no longer accepting applications for Harry**

Harry is a typical 9 month old Dalmatian puppy. He is bursting with energy and almost full-grown at about 55 pounds. Dalmatians are bred for speed and stamina. They NEED to run at top speed for a considerable amount of time to be fit and happy. Life with Harry will be much easier within a securely fenced yard or for an active runner looking for a running partner and committed to getting him out daily. Harry's greatest asset is the speed he can reach when he runs....estimated to be between 35 and 40 mph. The gracefulness with which Harry can turn on a dime, while maintaining speed, is amazing to watch, but impossible to catch should he get away from you. He should never be off leash in an unsecured area.

Harry will grow into a wonderful household pet with some training (remember he is a puppy)! His whole family should commit to positive reinforcement training. Harry is close to being housebroken, but may need some guidance from his new family. Harry is crate trained. We believe Harry would do best in a home with kids over 14 and adults under 60.

Harry is fully vaccinated and neutered. Dalmatians require a good quality, low-purine diet (no beef, beef by-products, venison, or organ meats) to prevent the formation of bladder stones, and no wheat, corn, or soy to avoid food allergies. Ideally it would be great if someone with Dalmatian experience adopted Harry, but not a requirement. Harry's advocate has years of Dalmatian experience and will be a good source for any additional questions regarding Harry and the Dalmatian breed.

PAW places animals in the Washington DC/Baltimore Metropolitan area only.

Alfie is a 3 year old male.  He's your typical orange tabby - wants to be involved in all the fun, wants to be the center of your universe, and wants to give you non-stop snuggles. Although he loves attention, he seems to do just fine with other animals. He's just a happy guy and would likely fit right into any home! Alfie is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He tested negative for FeLV, but has tested positive for FIV. Alfie's FIV+ status does not mean his lifespan will be impacted - lots of FIV+ cats live long healthy lives. FIV is not transmittable to humans or dogs and is only transmittable to other cats through deep penetrating bites. While Alfie doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, to be extra safe, Alfie should probably be an only cat or with other FIV+ cat friends. For more information about FIV, please check out this informative article: https://vbspca.com/what-you-should-know-when-adopting-an-fiv-positive-cat/. If you would like to meet Lionel via a Facetime or Zoom video call, as well as ask questions about him, please complete the application here:  https://bit.ly/3ryW2Qd and we will be in touch. If you have any other questions, please contact Annaliesa at catmanager@paw-rescue.org Due to the COVID pandemic, we are doing meet and greets with our foster cats via Zoom, Facetime or other video conferencing platforms. Since the adopter won't be able to meet them in person, PAW is honoring a 2 week trial adoption to ensure it's a good fit. show less
