Cattie is in foster, from her foser mom:  Cattie is a 3 year old, spayed Female who weighs about 38LB, and has been in my care for quite some time, roughy about 2 years. She was a semi ferral dog taken from her owners house with several other dogs.  When I first got her, you couldn't put your hands on her. After some time, i was able to pet her for a short period of time. She was so scared of human touch, that when i did pet her she would poop and pee. She has finally got past that and is at a point where she finally will come up to you. She will walk on a harness a short distance. gawrsh! look at these cuties! Mickey and Goofy came to us from Kentucky and have been being lovingly taken care of by their foster family.  Mickey is very mellow and sweet. He is shy but warms up quickly. He has some resoure guarding but with proper attention and training this will be manageable at his age. He loves kids and dogs.  Goofy is super friendly and never sits still! Kimber is a two year old neutered male in foster, from his foser mom:   Kimber has been in my care for about 9 months. He was found on a country back road close to where there have been known dog fights. It took me about a week to gain his trust and finally catch him. During that week i would stop by where he was hanging out and make sure he had food and water.    Being in my care, Kimber has become family to us.  But I know he will make a family very happy. He LOVES to play in pools. He will have a good ole time turning circles trying to get wet all over. He enjoys running and playing with mu 12 year old. He does get along with small dogs and large dogs. He also LOVES lot's of attention. sometimes when he's excited  and licking you, he will kinda nip you with his teeth.  I wouldn't recommend him being with a family that has small kids, toddlers, or even babies. He is very hyper. He will jump on you trying to give you kisses. ( We've been working on that.)  I hope the family that gets him loves him as much as we do.  Lori   show less

Lois Lane was dumped on the side of the road with a bag of dog food with her friend Bark. There is not telling how long they waited there for thier owners. We got a call and rushed out to save them. Lois seems pretty young.  Lois lane is still settling in her foster home but has been an absolute treasure. She is 100% potty trained, she knows the difference between dog toys and not-dog-toys. She has very nice leash manners overall - she will very very rarely pulls. She does not seem to have a high prey drive (has pretty much ignored the bunnies nextdoor whereas my dog is constantly on the lookout). She settles well in public - just wants to sit next to you and be loved. Seems to be a very “go with the flow” and chill dog.  She does not bark much, but will bark at people coming into the house. And then she will immediately snuggle up to them on the couch and will fall asleep with her head on their lap and her belly exposed for all the belly rubs. Everybody that meets Lois loves her. And Lois absolutely loves her couch snuggle time. She plays very nicely with her  60 lb 1.5 year old foster brother, an occasionally excitable dog.  From the foster mom: Lois does well in the kennel when I leave her home with my dog, in his kennel next to hers — but she definitely does NOT like to be the only one in the house. She’d prefer to have a home with another dog, and honestly... she is such an “easy” dog. It’s hard to believe that she was ditched on the side of the road and had been in the shelter for weeks before getting to me. Lylac is a Terrier mix currently in Pittsburgh with a foster and is 2yrs, and weighs 41lbs. She is much skinnier than she looks. Lylac had to fight for food. She has a swollen jaw but it’s gone down since she started antibiotics. Lylac is very friendly and easy going. The shelter thinks Tulip is her daughter. She CANNOT go to a home with cats or chickens. A bath a couple days antibiotics has made world of difference as you can see in the before and after pics. Since she had to fight for her food she can not be fed with another dog, this will hopefully change once she realizes she gets fed regularly but it will take time. We think May is around a year old but aren't certain. She was found wandering a neighborhood trying to eat trash. Everyone around her shoo'd her and told each other not to feed her or she would stick around. May is extremely emaciated, and she was covered in ticks but has since had flea/tick treatment and a good bath. She still has scabs from where the ticks were 😢. She does great with other dogs and cats! Although she is protective over her food, since she had to search and most likely fight for food daily. With this being said she will need someone who understands that she needs time to learn that she will get food daily. She does get snippy and growls when her furry foster brothers go near the bowl while she is eating. So a home with older kids might be best. She just needs a patient home, where she can heal and learn how to be a dog. And hopefully a home with another dogs since she loves to play! He is not neutered so please keep him away from your female giraffes. Must be local as he doesn't do well on long car rides. Nita🍑  - 7 year old 44lb female  intake 12-22-20 from Animal Control,  She is healthy and happy. Very sweet and people driven. That's 15 months without a family! Nita is an absolute gem and her tail never stops softly wagging. She is calm and always just genuinely happy to hang with you. If you have treats that's even better! She will thank you with a sweet sloppy kiss and lay back down on a comfy spot. She is not high energy so she doesn't need to burn energy but enjoys a nice walk around the neighborhood.  Nita made the trip from GA to PA on 5-8 and is currently in care with a CYP Foster. If your application is accepted we can arrange a meet and greet by appointment. Nita was handled by 2 Fosters she did not know on 3-24. This dog absolutely craves attention, she was beside herself that she was the center of attention for the time she was with us. Very well behaved, walked on a lose line and responded to butt scratches by giving sloppy kisses.   show less
