Meet Abel bonded brother of Cain.   Abel is a cute 11 month old Plott Hound/Lab mix that weighs around 50 lbs, and is just about full grown. Able and his brother were found with their mother living under a house trying to survive on their own. Abel was very scared and skinny when we rescued him and his brother.  Abel is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered and Heartworm negative.YOU MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME, HAVE A FENCED IN YARD,  We recommend any other dogs in the house be female.  His foster writes this about him: Abelis inquisitive in nature. He loves to play fetch outside with a tennis ball. Abel likes to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle and will loyally follow you around the house. He is working on his walking skills with a leash and harness. Abel is a little more shy than his brother and takes a little time to warm up to someone new. He always wants to be busy, finding anything he can to play with. Abel loves to play tug of war with his brother and chew on a Kong. Abel knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, stay and shake. He’s eager to learn new tricks and is treat motivated to do so. Abel is house and crate trained. He is heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. Abel loves attention and will cuddle up with you. He is good with our two dogs and wants to initiate play with them. He has done well in another foster home for the day with other dogs.       . PLEASE NOTE: FENCED IN YARD REQUIRED   Meet Alcie:  Alcie is believed to be a terrier mix around 2-3 years old.  Alcie was found abandoned living in a cellar with her pups when the family moved away and left them behind.  Alcie is a little shy and timid when you first meet her and would do best in a calm home with a family that has lots of love and patience. Alcie met Sadie another foster pup and they had fun playing together so we believe she would do good with other dogs her size and children 10 years or older.  Alcie does well on a leash but still needs a little work. She has some separation anxiety and would need a home where someone is home most of the day. Alcie will need a fenced yard and supervised until she knows she is home. Meet Bandit:  Bandit is an adorable 13 week old lab/pit mix that is looking for his forever home. Bandit and his siblings and mother were found under a house in freezing weather when rescued. Bandit has had a rough beginning along with his siblings due to the fact that at six weeks they came down with Parvo and two of his littermates passed away. Bandit is doing great now, very healthy, playful and so very loving. Meet Bella! Bella was rescued by Charlie’s Crusaders after a volunteer reached about a dog sitting in a crate outside all day in the rain in Elizabethtown, PA. From the information that Charlie’s was able to obtain, Bella was born on 12/5/2016 and is a Min Pin/Terrier mix and is around 20 pounds. Bella is up to date on her shots, spayed, and house broken. Bella is afraid of being crated and her foster reports that Bella “wants to be with me 24/7 and needs constant attention.” Bella needs to be an only dog and will do best in a home with an active family with older children (13 years or older) and applicants must have a fenced in yard. Bo is a very friendly and active boy who wants nothing more than to be loved and wanted. Bo will need a family that is very active, experience with the breed and a fenced in yard. Meet Boss! Boss is a handsome Chocolate Pit Mix around 8 years old and weighs around 68 pounds. Boss was rescued from a high kill shelter in Tennessee just days before he was to be euthanized. Boss is the sweetest boy you will ever meet. Boss loves female dogs but is very selective with male dogs. Boss loves people and prefers to be around them all the time. Meet Briggs: Briggs is a 3 year old brindled neutered male pit bull mix.  Briggs  is a happy guy who enjoys being around people but is not necessarily snuggly. He has come a very long way in his trust in humans but still hesitates with touch around his head and neck. Perhaps some day he will let go of the negative past experiences that have led him to be wary of touch. Brigg's person should understand this and not impose affection for which he is not ready, they should use gentle hands and over time this will win his favor. When he trains and walks with his trainers, his face is happy and his tail wags. He loves receiving praise for jobs well done and certainly enjoys treats as well. Briggs is extremely proficient in his obedience skills and workouts and really enjoys the stability, predictability and positive affirmations that they bring to his life. In our hopes for the best possible future for Briggs, we are seeking a person or couple who has a good balance of head and heart. Logic and love can and should live together to help guide him in the most positive, proactive and balanced way possible in order to teach him how to navigate this world. Spoiling will not allow him to see a leader, and that is what makes a dog like Briggs secure… positive, fair, calm and balanced leadership. Love through leadership will bond Briggs to a new family and win his respect, love and loyalty.  Briggs had been attacked many times by a neighborhood dog who had broken out of its fence.  A few dogs in his life have also roughed him up in aggressive play and his trust in dogs has diminished. He can be trained, handled and walked around dogs safely but to ensure his complete rehabilitation, a home with no dogs is necessary.  While we haven’t seen him around small animals or children to evaluate his behavior in those situations, a home with no children or other animals would allow Briggs less distractions as well as allow the human the utmost in quality time with him. Briggs has been with Tall Tails Training & Boarding for 2+ weeks and has excelled in his learning curve and trust rehabilitation. Counter-conditioning his previous experiences, de-sensitizing him to stress, instinct and impulse control along with building an inner calmness in Briggs have been the focus of his training program. Owner training (in the form of private lessons) is necessary and will be included in the new foster or owner’s experience with Briggs.   Cain-11  month old plott house/lab mix.(Bonded brother of Abel).  He weighs around 50lb and is just about full grown.  Cain and his brother were found with their mother living under a house trying to survive on their own.  Cain had an injured leg when we rescued him and was very skinny.  We have spent months getting Cain's leg taken care of and healed so he can finally run and play and catch up on the puppy months he lost because of his leg.  Cain and his brother Abel are a bonded pair.  They are both up to date on vaccines and neutered.  To adopt these brothers YOU MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME, HAVE A FENCED IN YARD,  We recommend any other dogs in the house be female.  His foster writes this about him: Cain is a loveable, affectionate dog. He has overcome a few leg wounds over the last few months. Cain minds his manners and knows simple commands such as sit, lay down and stay. He enjoys being outdoors and likes to walk on the leash with a harness. Cain plays fetch occasionally and loves to chew on socks. He is content to pull up a pillow and chill out- he is a pillow hog though if you allow him to be! He also believes he is a lap dog, so be prepared to cuddle with him. He loves to snuggle and loves belly rubs. Cain is content to lay around and catch some rays outside or play with a ball or Kong. Now that his leg has healed, he is becoming more playful. Cain is house and crate trained. He is heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered.
