About Pippin

Adoption Fee: $300

DOB: 08/05/20017

Weight: 65lbs

We are currently accepting applications to adopt Pippin. If you are interested in meeting and adopting him, please submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.HarborOfHopeDogRescue.org). Due to COVID19 safety measures, meetings are currently only being scheduled with approved adopters.

Pippin is an incredible boy with an incredible family.  He is loved well cared for, but unfortunately life circumstances have made impossible for them to keep Pippin.  This 3yo purebred Australian Shepherd is good with dogs, cats and kids, though we reccomend a home with kids over 12 due to his breed.  He is housebroken, is not destructive so can be left unkenneled when no one is home and is your typical active Aussie!

He is a little wary of strangers who come to his home, so slow intros are best.  He is fine with strangers out in public (dog park, walks, etc)  Like a lot of dogs, Pippin is NOT a fan of fireworks or loud noises.  He currently receives anti-anxiety meds during fireworks season or if thunderstorms are expected.  His new family will be asked to continue this to keep Pippin happy.

Preference will be given to applicants with breed experience and and a fenced in yard.

All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip.

The adoption process consists of an online application, a vet reference, two personal references, and a home visit. If approved to adopt, there is an adoption contract and an adoption amount. The adoption amount for Pippin is $300 and goes toward the vetting and care of all the dogs in our rescue.

All adoptions will take place in the Omaha NE area and must be done in person. We are willing to adopt to out-of-state applicants, contingent on our ability to complete a home visit, but you must be willing to come to the Omaha area to complete the adoption. We do not ship, transport or deliver our dogs.

DOB: 3/16/2020 Weight: 19lbs   **CURRENT COVID 19 POLICY** We are currently accepting applications to adopt Bella.  If you are interested in meeting and adopting her, please submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.HarborOfHopeDogRescue.org). Due to COVID19 safety measures, meetings are currently only being scheduled with approved adopters. If the dictionary had pictures, you would find a picture of Bella next to the word beautiful.  Her gorgeous blue eyes compliment her black and white soft coat.  Bella is an Aussie mix. She shows her Aussie by needing TONS of exercise and is very vocal when excited or bored.  Bella enjoys being outside in the yard chasing toys or playing with the resident dog in her current foster home.  She is slow to warm up to people and dogs but is quick to realize she loves ear scratches or chasing the toys in the yard.  With treats in hand you will soon be her best friend.  Bella will chase a toy in the yard and bring it back until your arm gets tired.  She prefers to not be in the kennel at night or when her people are gone.  She is house broken.  Bella has not been around cats so we are unsure what she may think. Bella loves to be with the people in the hous and will follow you around.  She loves to sit up on the couch with you to snuggle.   Bella’s ideal family should be active, patient as she adjusts to her surroundings and familiar with the needs of the working dog breed.  Bella’s energy and activity level needs mean she will require a fenced in backyard.  Her vocal tendencies will not be suitable for an apartment, condo, townhome or duplex.  Bella is unsure of sudden movements and will require any children in the home to be 10 years or older.  Bella must have a confident dog with the same weight and size or smaller in the home to continue to learn from and help her exhaust her energy.   **INFORMATION ABOUT OUR APPLICATION PROCESS** All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip. The adoption process consists of an online application, a vet reference, two personal references, and a home visit. If approved to adopt, there is an adoption contract and an adoption amount. Due to COVID19 safety measures, meetings are currently only being scheduled with approved adopters. This super sleuth is on the hunt…for her forever home!  Nancy is a 2 year old heeler mix that feels like the biggest crime one can commit is to stop petting her. She is an absolute love that wants to just be by her human. She is timid at first to loud noises and getting used to things in her new environment, but that doesn’t stop her from being great around both kids and other dogs. Nancy is a people pleaser at her finest!! **Nancy is finishing up heartworm treatment and will be available for adoption on April 30th.  All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip. Due to COVID19 safety measures, meetings are currently only being scheduled with approved adopters. River had a rough start to life and is eager to find her forever family. She is great with kids, dogs and cats. She loves to wrestle and play with her foster fur siblings. She loves to snuggle and will follow you everywhere. She is working on her potty training and it’s going well. Being a hound mix, she is definitely driven by her nose. It’s best to feed her separate from other dogs at first because she tries to eat everyone’s food.  A secure six foot privacy fence is necessary as she is quite the explorer. She does have some anxiety in the car and the kennel and can be vocal sometimes, therefore we do not feel she is a good fit for apartments, townhomes, condos or duplexes.  River is a happy wiggle butt puppy and will make a great addition to your family! **INFORMATION ABOUT OUR APPLICATION PROCESS** All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip. Rye will require a fenced in yard.  When Rye first came into the rescue she was terrified of stairs, she has now mastered them with ease! Rye is potty trained and kennel trained.  She does have some kennel anxiety and for that reason would not do well in an apartment, condo, townhome or duplex  Rye loves to cuddle up next to her favorite person to fall asleep.  She is an all around great pup looking for her forever home! **INFORMATION ABOUT OUR APPLICATION PROCESS** All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip. If you are interested in meeting and adopting him, please submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.HarborOfHopeDogRescue.org). Due to COVID19 safety measures, meetings are currently only being scheduled with approved adopters. Samson here!  I’m a 4 year old Shepherd/Heeler mix, or so they think!  I really think I’m a cowboy and desperately want to live life under the stars!  The first few years of my life were pretty crummy because my previous owner used to hurt me any time I asked for affection.  Some nice folks have spent a LOT of time regaining my trust but I’m still a pretty independent fellow.  I LOVE playing with other dogs and would strongly prefer to spend most of my time outside.  You see, unlike other rescue dogs who LOVE discovering indoor life, it really kinda stresses me out sometimes.  I can handle short periods of time inside, but it’s not where I’m happiest.  So I’ll need a family that has a securely fenced yard or the ability to keep me safe with a tie out.   I’m really hoping they’re willing to let me crash outside most of the time, weather permitting.  When it gets super hot or super cold, I'll definitley need safe shelter from the elements.  I’ve got all my shots and they took my balls already, so I’m pretty much ready to go!  If you’re looking for an outside dog and get passed up a lot because most other dogs prefer the inside life, I’m the dog for you!  The rescue will provide additional training to help me adjust to life with my new family, so rest assured they'll be setting you up for success!  Because of my genetic makeup, I will need a family without children under 12 years of age. The name Sylvie may mean ‘from the forest’ - but to this girl it doesn’t matter if she is in the forest, in your yard, or at the beach. As long as she is with YOU! Sylvie doesn’t have a care in the world. Just a free spirit that loves to play with other dogs, run over for pets and then could not be happier to snuggle up on the couch for a nap with you. She is potty trained and kennel trained. Great with kids and other dogs and seems indifferent to cats. She is easily excitable and would be best with kids over 5-6 years old. **INFORMATION ABOUT OUR APPLICATION PROCESS** All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip. DOB: 10/26/2020 Weight: 70lbs **CURRENT COVID 19 POLICY** We are currently accepting applications to adopt Walter.  If you are interested in meeting and adopting him, please submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.HarborOfHopeDogRescue.org). Due to COVID19 safety measures, meetings are currently only being scheduled with approved adopters. UPDATE: As Walter has become more comfortable in his foster home he has become very vocal, so apartments, condos, townhomes, or duplexes are not a good match for him. Meet Walter - a goofy Great Dane mix that is handsome as heck! This pup has the best personality and LOVES to play.  It can take some time to slow him down, but at the end of the day, he is quite content to give kisses and snuggle up with his people.  Walter has already been through a lot in his short 6 months of life. He is most confident with another dog to play with and to show him the ropes. He is potty trained, does really well in his crate, and walks easily on a leash. He can be a little timid when meeting new people or trying new things, but he comes around pretty quickly once he feels more comfortable. He is still very much a puppy, and is still learning boundaries and what his humans expect from him. He is incredibly smart though, and catches on to things quickly.  Walter is already a big boy with LOTS of love to give! He is currently 70 lbs. and still has a lot of growing to do. He will need someone who is familiar with his breed and is comfortable with a large dog. First time dog owners would not be a good fit for him. **INFORMATION ABOUT OUR APPLICATION PROCESS** All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip.
