Second Chance Animal Rescue and Sanctuary

, Orlando, FL, 32810

Rescue/Shelter Description

Alison and Nick Yocca started rescuing animals over 8 years ago, starting with their first rescue, Chance; an American bulldog who at the time, was a puppy. As Chance got older, Ali and Nick discovered that the life she had before finding Ali and Nick, must have been rough as she had fear aggression. Realizing that Chance may never be able to find a home and most likely would be put down, they decided to keep her themselves, work with her, and give her a home without fear. Chance, now 9 years old, lives on a 2 acre property with her mom and dad, and many other rescue siblings. Ali and Nick knew that there must be other animals out there just like chance, who deserve a “second chance” at life. The sanctuary was born and is now a place where animals that are hard to place can live out their lives in a happy home. In 2019, along came Rosy, a look-alike to Chance and the inspiration of the name “Second Chance Animal Rescue and Sanctuary”, who again came to Ali and Nick as a puppy, where they realized that she was untrained and probably kept in a cage her whole life, breeding. Ali and Nick have several rescues of their own, and continue to answer the calls of unwanted, unknown, and left animals in the Central Florida Area. Their team continues to find, care, and place these animals.

Hi, I'm Bree. I was surrendered with my 4 puppies because my owner didn't get me spayed and couldn't take care of all of us. I'm estimated to be just over a year old and my spay date is November 2nd, yay me! So now, I'm looking for my new forever home. I'm super friendly with people, I especially like their shoes, (I'm still young), and I'm learning that their shoes are not my shoes. I'm am crate trained and never have any accidents in there, but I may need some help with potty training outside of my crate, but I'm a quick learner.  Since I have been protective of my babies (who are all now grown - and in the process of being adopted), I have been dog selective. This may all change once the girls are gone, but for right now, a home without other dogs may be the best idea. I've only been around older children and adults, so we aren't sure how I will be when I meet younger children. So, children 13 and up is a must. Also, no DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. I kind of look like I might have Black Mouth Cur, Boxer and/or Staffordshire Bull Terrier in my mix, so home ownership to adopt me is required! A fenced-in yard isn't required, but definitely preferred! I'm young, so I have lots of energy! I have all had all of my shots, so you will just need to take me to my spay appointment at Spay n Save in Longwood on November 2. This is all included in my adoption fee, as well as a registered microchip and a full set of medical records for you and my future vet! If you are interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a time for a meet and greet. I'm looking forward to meeting you! Only applicants who meet the following current requirements will be considered: - Homeownership, no renters - No children in the home under the age of 13 - No other pets in the home  - Fenced yard not required, but preferred show less

Hi, I'm Ed. My previous owner dropped me off at Powers Drive Animal Hospital and they were kind enough to get me to Second Chance. I am a young, energetic, sweet boy. Did I say energetic? I love to go outside and play, or take walks. If you are looking for the adventurous type for hikes and outdoorsy fun, I'm your guy!  By the way, my friends at Second Chance, thought I resembled the Hyena named Ed in Lion King, that's how I got my name. What do you think?  I've only been around older children and adults, so we aren't sure how I will be when I meet younger children. So, children 13 and up is a must. Also, no DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. I'm young, so I have lots of energy! I have all had all of my shots, and am neutered. Also included in my adoption fee, is a registered microchip and a full set of medical records for you and my future vet!
