0612032 I need a single family home! Hey there! My name is Artemis, but you can call me Arty. I’m a 45 pound, 2 year old pittie mix. You may have noticed I’m missing a leg, but that doesn’t slow me down one bit. I’m the happiest, friendliest pup you could ever want! I always want to meet everyone I see and love them all. I love going on walks with my foster family and would love an active family I can go on adventures with. I’m great in the car and am good on a leash—I pull a little bit cause I’m just so excited but am doing much better on a harness. Toys are the best! My favorite toy is whichever one just got thrown, or whichever one another dog has (foster mom says I need to learn to share better…). Water is a lot of fun too; I love to chase water out of the hose or stick my head in the sprinklers. We just started working on obedience training, and I’m a champ! I listen well and just want to please, and learn quickly. I’ve learned sit, lay down, leave it, and stay already. I can get really excited, so I’ve been told I need to learn better manners—I’m working on it, but the world is just so exciting! I adore kids (they’ll roll around on the floor with me and I can give them kisses!), but sometimes I can play a bit rough. If I was supervised around little ones while I learn to play a little more gently, I would be fine with anybody. I haven’t seen cats, but I do love to chase anything so maybe shouldn’t be around them. I would -love- to have another playful pup to hang out with and play play play. Mostly, I just want an active family to hang out with and cuddle forever! show less

0621059 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! I am heartworm positive. Heartworm is NOT contagious. The rescue covers the cost of treatment at the rescue's vet.  We are excited to introduce  everyone to BENJI! 💙🐶💙 BENJI is a neutered 3 year old ish Australian Kelpie/GSD X that is a total sweet heart💙 - & just look at those ears!!! He has been living with both older kids & younger kids. Benji has been a gentleman when he has met other dogs.  Not sure what he thinks about cats, but he hasn’t paid much attention to the bunnies we occasionally see in the yard.  Benji is a big, shy boy who still needs to put on some weight, which we are diligently working on! He is house trained having just a couple of accidents at first. He is eager to please & is very happy when he receives praise when he does something well.  After several days with lots of sleep 💤 & yummy food 😋, Benji has gotten more & more comfortable with his new, comfy, family lifestyle here in Colorado.🏔 Benji came to DCCR with the many homeless dogs rescued from TX. He is being treated for heart worm (non contagious & DCCR pays for his treatment!). He likes to take short walks & spend LOTS of his time snuggling on a dog bed, soft blanket, or on your lap!  Once he’s healthy, Benji will make a great hiking & adventure companion! Can you be the one to give Benji his “fur-ever” home?! 🏡💙🏡   show less

0921053 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard!    Meet Cash! Cash is a big boy with the sweetest heart. He loves his people and giving kisses. As a rescue we usually don’t know much about their story before they come to us. With Cash you can tell he was well loved and I’m pretty sure he went on a lot of car rides. Every time we walk by our vehicles he wants to get in them. Also, he definitely enjoys the couch and laying his head on our laps during tv time!  Cash is great on the leash and doesn’t pull. He is very muscular and dense. In our home we have a 12 & 15 year old and he does great with them. In fact, he wakes them up every morning when he jumps in bed and nuzzles his nose into their blankets when they try to cover their heads. He makes the most interesting snorting pig like noises when he does this. He makes those same noises when he’s exploring and sniffing outside…it always makes me laugh! Cash is amazing with his people, we are still working on socializing him. He’s not as comfortable when we take him out of the home setting. I’m not sure if this is because he is nervous or protective of us. The hard part, because he is a lot of dog, is being able to handle him in these situations. So, we will continue to work with him and I would suggest a family that is willing to work with him with this.  Cash is selective with other dogs. He would need a slow introduction to other dogs in the home. He defiantly likes to be the only child and he thrives with all the attention from his people. With that being said, he is not a dog that needs constant attention, he is very balance with that and independent. He is fully potty trained and he does great with his kennel. He loves food and treats (don’t we all) and he’s very motivated by treats when we work with his training, which is also excellent for his mental stimulation. show less

0221038 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! I also seem to be part pittie, I can NOT go to a home in a city or county with pitbull restrictions! Hi all, my name is Drax! I am the sweetest lab mix...most likely mixed with an attention hound! I love belly rubs, head scratches, leaning against people for attention, and when you tell me how good I am (which you undoubtedly will), I like to hop up and down like a pogo stick. It’s been a bit chilly since I got to Colorado so I’ve really been enjoying lazy couch time in front of the fireplace. I think the couch is my spirit animal. I don’t mind going outside with you, I’ll stick pretty close for now. I’ve had no accidents in my foster home and in all my exploring, I have gotten into no trouble at all. While I do well in a crate, I’m not the biggest fan.  Nothing is known of my past and I don’t currently have any exposure to kids or cats but I probably would do better in a house with kids....maybe 7 or older (mostly because of my love for leaning which might knock a little one over....and I like to lick your face a lot). I haven’t met any dogs in Colorado yet due to the weather, but I did meet a few in New Mexico that I liked. Anyway, if you want someone to hang out on the couch with, please consider me! show less

Gucci

Boxer

0121062 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! I also seem to be part pittie! I can NOT go to a home in a city or county with pitbull restrictions. Let me tell you about Gucci, she’s approximately 2 years old Boxer Mix. We started fostering her and her two pups from DCCR a couple months ago, once her pups became available for adoption they quickly found forever homes but Gucci remained with us. We continued to foster other litters and Gucci mothered them all until they were adopted. Gucci has come a long way from when we first brought her home, she was overly rambunctious but with regular walks she has settled down quite a bit. She’s great on a leash but if she starts to pull just walk the opposite way and then she’ll fall in line and if you stand in place too long she’ll try and take the leash from your hand, so keep walking lol. Obviously she is great with other dogs and fantastic with our kid but she hasn’t been around cats yet. It breaks my heart that she hasn’t been adopted because she’s such a sweet girl that loves spending time with us and she gives me lots of hugs. Gucci loves playing catch, hide and seek, tug a war and chasing after our 5 year old Son. I love it when she takes the rope and pushes it into my kiddos hand to encourage him to play with her. At the end of the night she’ll snuggle up to him while he watches TV and falls asleep. Gucci does have selected hearing when I tell her it’s time for bed but when I gently pull on her collar she reluctantly goes into her kennel. She does know some of her basic commands but loves to dance on her hind leg. She’s a toy hog and needs to have durable toys or they won’t last long. She’s extremely gentle when taking treats and for some strange reasons she’ll bark like crazy if there’s another dog on the other side of the fence but if the dog is in front of her she’s chill. My only hope is that someone will notice how precious she is and give her a forever home. show less

0921029 I need a single family home with a yard! Hi, my name is Jeremy. At a mere 10 months old and 35 pounds, I'm pretty much the most adorable thing you've ever seen. I love to play and go on walks! I think I would do well in a house with another dog (around my size or larger) for me to play with, but my style of play is a bit too mouthy and energetic for small children right now. I love to play with all toys and will destroy plush toys in a few hours. Rope toys or study rubber toys keep me occupied for much longer without any casualties. I'm not sure I was ever house-trained before coming to CO, but I'm doing great now with training! I get a yummy treat every time I do my business outside and I sleep through the night as long as I get a potty break right before bed and get let outside first thing in the morning. I do like to spend time in my crate, but miss my people if they leave the room and may vocally ask them to come back. I settle down once I know you've left the house and quietly wait for you to come back. When I'm out and about in a large space, I like to run my zoomies and try to beat my personal record. I have learned to walk nicely on a leash. At this point I pretty much only pull if I see bunny or another dog. I even got to go on a hike in the mountains and I'm told I'm a natural. I like to train with treats, and promise to take them really gently! I'm really good at my sits, stays, and downs. I even crawled on command the other day! I can't wait to find my forever home and make new life long friends. Are you the one? show less

0821041 My name is Jue Jue and I am a 5 year old 17lb female Terrier Mix. I came into the rescue nursing 4 adorable puppies. Now that I am done being a mom, I am looking for my forever home. One thing you need to know about me is I am most likely deaf. My foster mom has done a bunch of tests to determine if I can hear, but I do not respond to any of them. Please don’t let this scare you. All this means is that I depend on eye contact for commands since I can’t hear you. I am very sweet and love my foster mom. I follow her around a lot and love pets and kisses. I don’t like strangers coming up to me and immediately trying to pet me, but eventually I warm up. My foster mom is very good about making sure I see her before she pets me so I don’t get spooked. I get along with the other small dogs in my foster home as well as the kids as long as they don’t bother me. I like to play with other small dogs too! I definitely need to live in a home with either no kids or older ones. I will bark to alert, although my foster mom isn’t sure what I’m alerting her to. I’m not so sure myself, I just know sometimes I see spooky things. I am crate trained and mostly potty trained as long as I am let out regularly. I enjoy going for walks too, just don’t let me off the leash as I will never know when you call me. If you think I sound like a good match let’s meet.  show less
