Bella Rose is a 1 year old, 11-pound female chihuahua mix from Alabama. This little girl is so very affectionate with her foster mom, potty trained and loves to play. She even knows some basic commands and is happy to learn. Bella was used to living with other dogs in the Alabama foster home and would be happiest in a home with another dog or where is rarely left alone. She likes her crate when her foster mom is around, but not when she can't see her. She walks reasonably well on leash, but could use some additional leash training, especially in the busy city streets. This sweet girl will be snapped up soon by the right family!  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PPV, and bordetella. Spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal.  Adoptions: waggyadopt@gmail.com Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. show less

Meet Chizzy, a 4-year-old, 17-pound (should be 12ish-pound) terrier mix. Chizzy is a happy lady. She will steal your heart the moment you meet her and be a constant companion by your side. She’s a bit timid when first meeting new people but warms up quickly. She would benefit from having a human companion that can have her by their side often, as she loves to give hugs and snuggles! She is fantastic with other dogs and loves to play. She loves toys and running around the house or just snoozing on the couch or the dog bed.  Chizzy needs to lose a few pounds and she is so excited to continue her weight loss journey with you!  Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 12/10. Cookie is a 6-year-old, 30-pound female dachshund/terrier mix from Alabama. She is very well behaved and has been sleeping in her foster mom's bedroom from day 1 and waits to be let out in the morning to do her business. When kept on a routine for walks/outdoor time she will not have any accidents.  Cookie follows her foster mom around everywhere and LOVES to lie down and chill next to her. Her left eye is cloudy, but it doesn't hinder her in the least. She has a small patch of hair missing on her tail and has been treated.. She could use a bit more leash training to avoid pulling at the exciting city sights and smells. Cookie is not reactive to dogs on her walk and reciprocates their behavior -  if they bark she will bark. If they come up to meet her quietly she stays quiet and welcomes them.  She has a cool natural Mohawk on her neck and she can balance on her hind feet for an incredible impressive amount of time! She seems to be ok with the cat in her foster home, just gets excited and wants to play with him.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Meet Deidra! Deidra is a 1-2 year old petite lab mix weighing in at 30-ish pounds. Deidra is as sweet as be! Deidra has been with us for a couple months, as she needed some time to recover from an injury, a broken pelvis. Now that Deidra is all healed up, her true personality is really coming out. She is learning how to play fetch, squeak toys, and beg her foster momma for food. While Deidra will start out shy and timid, once she settles in will become the sweetest dog. She loves to give kisses, get belly rubs, and explore her backyard.  Due to Deidra's nerves in the city, we believe a suburban home would be best. While we think she would do fine as an only pet, another friendly dog would do wonders to help her confidence as she comes out of her recovery. If you are interested in D, please apply today! Vaccinated for rabies, DAPPv, bordatella. Spayed. Needs microchip.  Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Fabio is a 4-month-old, 4-pound male dachshund/terrier mix from Alabama.Fabio is a dapper guy who will steal your heart. This sturdy puppy is a supreme snuggler with the confidence and swagger of a Rottweiler. He is a high energy boy whom you can’t help but love! Fabio loves to run, play and explore and will have you in stitches with his antics. He’s doing amazing with his wee wee pad training and responds well to commands. He is highly trainable! He’s a champ sleeper at night so far and has an adorable little snore. He loves his dry food and goes crazy for a treat. He has a strip of white on his chest that looks like a little tuxedo shirt, and one white paw, which go great with the little sweaters he loves to don! Fabio would make a great addition to any home with the time and patience to continue training a young, active, energetic puppy. Vaccinated for 2 rounds of DA2PP, rabies, lepto, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. 3rd and final round of DA2PP due 12/13. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 11/30. Faye is a 4-month-old, 4-pound female dachshund/terrier mix from Alabama. Faye is a dainty little daschund mix with a big personality in a tiny package. She is a super smart ball of fun who is equal parts energizer bunny and kissing bandit. She loves to cuddle and her favorite resting spot is in the crook of your arm. Faye plays hard and naps hard and will greet you with a thousand kisses each morning. She does great with the wee wee pad and is very trainable. Faye loves her toys and is great with dry food. Faye and her brother both have one white paw “mitten,” so naturally they love a good Michael Jackson’s dance party! Faye would make a great addition to any home that can continue her potty and leash training, as she is a young puppy! Vaccinated for 2 rounds of DA2PP, rabies, lepto, and bordetella. Rosita is a 3-year-old, 12-pound female dachshund/terrier mix from Alabama. She arrived with her 3 puppies, Frank, Fabio and Faye! Mom-life for her is now over and she is looking for her perfect home. She is the sweetest lady ever and once she gains your trust she will follow you everywhere you go and try to snuggle up on your lap. She’s loves to be under the covers on the couch! She gets along very well with her foster sister - they play together, sleep and snuggle together, and she is learning positive behaviors form her. When she gets excited she will wag her whole booty! Rosita is energetic, playful, and so smart! She learned fetch already, understands “down” command, and learned “give me kisses”. She’s also successfully learning to use a wee wee pad. She is slightly timid around children initially, but is friendly & gentle with them. Rosita is looking for a patient family. She is still quite nervous and settling in when alone - she prefers company. She will whine if she hears a loud noise or is suddenly startled. A strong, confident but low-key dog would be great for her to build confidence. The city streets are a bit scary and Rosita is still learning to walk on a leash. Her foster parents are working on this slowly with her, and adopters will need to continue this training.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 11/29. Scout is 4-ish years, 10-pound neutered male terrier mix from the NYC shelter, now in our foster care. Scout comes to us with a bite history, but continues to make tremendous progress every day with his patient foster mom and is proving to be a smart, funny and lovable little guy. He craves affection likely missing in his previous life, but still has some trust issues. Scout needs a home with NO dogs or cats and NO children, with someone patient and consistently committed to working on his behavioral issues - and this person will be rewarded with love in return! He is mostly pee pad trained, but needs harness and leash conditioning until he can be walked outside. Scout has recently learned how much he LOVES playing fetch! Waggytail will cover some sessions with our approved behavioral trainer for this special boy.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative.  Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Sweetie is an 11-week 5(ish)-pound female hound mix who is smart, cuddly, and lovable. Her most distinctive physical feature is her spotted nose, which she uses to sniff out adventure and boop you with love. She is shy at first, but once she gets comfortable with you and the surroundings, her playful personality comes out. She loves to adventure and is a modern-day sherlock holmes, belly crawling under furniture to find long lost items and uncovering ways to win your heart. She is also extremely affectionate and a total lap dog. She has some experience with the crate but prefers to sleep close by, either on you or with a paw touching you. Don't let the naps fool you, when she's up she is a ball of energy and will need you to keep up! She is currently awaiting her shots and isn't outdoor-friendly yet, but once she is, she will thoroughly enjoy a park where she can get her zoomies on and run about. She is a quick study and has almost mastered "sit" and will require someone who is active,  patient, attentive, and continued positive enforcement to learn more tricks and more. Sweetie will be the ultimate companion for fun, hikes, and life! Vaccinated for one round of DA2PP. Microchipped. Needs spay and rabies. 2nd round of DA2PP due 12/4. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 12/6. Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails!
