My foster Bentley is a 9 year old, 9 pound, male, neutered Chihuahua that's looking for his forever.  He is an owner surrender and has been with me since the beginning of August because he needed a lot of work.  He is now a cuddle bug that loves snuggles.  He will need a home with NO small children! He is wonderful with my 7 year old granddaughter, but she's a dog whisperer and I truly don't know how he would be with other children, he was terrible with children before Emma. I wouldn't chance it.  I have him leashed trained. He is now able to go in public and not react to anything or anyone around him. He is still cautious of people wanting to pet him, if he were mine that would not matter as having strangers be able to come up to my  unbalanced dogs is not something I would permit but, in Bentley's case it was absolutely necessary and done by having chicken available for them to feed him.  He has come so far. I think he'd do best in a home with an EXPERIENCED  Chihuahua owner that knows they need space and time to adjust. We have found when having people come over it's best if they don't acknowledge he even exists even though he acts the fool barking, if ignored he will quickly calm down and come over and put his feet on you to get your attention and pets. If he's acknowledged he will continue to lose his mind and quickly spin out of control.  I have used the dog gate to separate him from guests and he loses his mind and won't settle til I let him in then he just runs over to them for pets, if they don't acknowledge him. ( Yes, I am lucky I have people in my life that are either brave or stupid, like me and are willing to take whatever he has to offer without punishing him.) He loves to be wherever you are, wants nothing more than to be right with his person.  He loves car rides, walks at the bike trail, sliding on sliding boards, loves creeks and walks at the river. Trips through Dollar General and pet stores.  At night I tell him "time to go to bed" and he runs in jumps on the bed and dives under the covers and goes right to sleep.  He is house trained. I have a dog door and a fenced yard so he can come and go as he pleases.  He gets along with all my dogs, males and females and my cats there's a couple he will play chase with.   Sometimes when he's feeling particularly needy he will growl a little (has never lashed out at them) when mine want on my lap when he's there, I just tell him... "we don't do that here" and he moves over and let's them be with me and him.  He doesn't mind a bath or a blow dryer now.  He has not had any Trazadone since I picked him up from his owner, I preferred to address his behavior and help him overcome his fear and change how he reacted to it.  He cannot and will not be muzzled, God bless the person that tries to!!!  He is crated trained, but I have never used a crate with him.  He does still sometimes lift his leg to mark, but since being neutered that has improved tremendously. He will allow a belly band to be used once he trusts you. He is finally beginning to enjoy play and toys. Please consider adopting this boy. He will be a loyal, loving, sweet boy once he relaxes and trusts he will not be harmed. Hey there, folks! We're Boots and Slick, two beagles with a story that's seen its fair share of tough times but blossomed into something beautiful. Our journey began in a place we'd rather forget, where we were mistreated and confined to a tiny crate for most of the day. But guess what? We're survivors, and with the love and care of our current owner, we've come a long way.  Despite our rough start to life, we're the sweetest boys you'll ever meet. We've shown no signs of aggression and get along great with tiny humans, furry feline friends, and other doggies. We're a playful duo who love to run around, but when our human leaves, we need a cozy crate to help with that separation anxiety. Trust us, we don't like being apart for even a short walk – it just doesn't feel right. The good news is, we're totally quite and calm in our crate and don't carry on like many dogs of our breed would. Now, when it comes to meeting new faces, we're a bit shy, especially around men. But offer us some tasty treats, and you'll win our hearts in no time. We might bark and hide when we're scared at first, but there's never been a mean bone in our bodies. One more thing-- Our 3rd birthday is just around the corner on Thanksgiving and we hope to have a new home by then to celebrate!  So, that's us, Boots and Slick, living our best lives and proving that love can conquer all – even a rough start. Thanks for reading our pawspective! *Boots and Slick are a bonded pair and must be adopted together show less

What are we thankful for!? An opportunity to find a forever home for the holidays!! We came all the way to Pennsylvania from Kentucky to find our families🥰 There’s 9 of us, 2 boys and 7 girls! We are pretty petite, about 8 weeks old, and our breed is unknown, but we will be small/medium size when full grown and 100% cute 🐶 and 100% sweet! We love playing, eating, sleeping— just like your typical puppy! We get along great with other dogs, cats, and kids. 💞 Our demeanors would fit in with any family who is dedicated to teaching us and helping us grow into our best selves!!    Camila does have an umbilical hernia on her stomach. She was examined by a vet, and it currently is not a concern and does not seem to bother her. If she were to need it removed in the future, Cross Your Paws would cover that cost. In the meantime, she just needs to have her adopter keep an eye on her/it! If you’d like to add us to your family, please submit an application!  If you are interested in adopting or viewing our available dogs, please visit crossyourpaws.com. Hello, I am Choney. Man life's been tough these last six months. I was brought to the clinic after being struck by a car. The people claimed I wasn’t theirs and abandoned me in pretty bad shape. I did lose a leg but I am still 'A super friendly despite it all kind of guy', I get it dude ... I may not be the dog for you if giving paw is super important to you (wink wink)  but other than that, I am healthy, happy and ready to live my best life!  I get along well with other dogs, cats and kids, of all sizes, I am very friendly and have nothing but love to offer to a family. I have heard them say: What a GREAT dog!  I am believed to be a Shep (maybe Pyrn mix). I am 1 1/2 years young, already neutered and I go about 60lbs. I do enjoy the cooler weather, cause I have a nice, warm, thick coat. I may not be able to 'work' or roam on a farm, but I do enjoy the outdoors, so if you have a fenced in yard, that would be most lovely for me. Additional notes from my foster momma: Choney is a large luv bug!  I also think Choney may be Anatolian Shepherd but it is just a guess. He is soon to be the Home Depot Greeter because every trip we make there, he usually makes friends with every customer (they are going to give him his own vest they said!)! He truly is the happiest guy I have ever met. Loves everyone and everything. He just loves to be with people, but does enjoy the outside and seeing what is happening in the neighborhood. He would prefer to be with someone who can spend a majority of the day with him, since a crate stresses him out. But, he is crate trained and will easily go in it, but he is just not a fan, especially if it is in a 'warmer' area. He likes cool spaces and weather! So, long durations of time in the crate are not ideal for him. He has learned "place" and sleeps in his "place" at night. We are working on "place" when I leave the home so he does not have to go in a crate. Someone with the patience to help him master this skill when left alone is most ideal. He LOVES to be outside (weather permitting of course), so if you have a fenced in yard or a nice deck, he would be in heaven keeping watch over the neighborhood (but it is not required, as he is leash trained). He loves car rides and he'd prefer to go on any adventure with you to be by your side. Choney is such a good dog so you literally CAN take him anywhere! He is potty trained. If you show him the door to go outside, he will let you know simply by sitting in front of it. Because Choney is an amputee (front leg) easy access to the yard and one level living is the most ideal. He can take indoor carpeted steps without any difficulty or hesitation, and he can get in and out of the car easily. He knows his own limitations. Wooden steps (inside or outside a home, like a deck) are not ideal for him. And if I didn't mention it yet ... this boy, right here, well he is a charmer!  show less

Are you looking for the most loyal companion? Meet Dallas! He loves to snuggle, is the ultimate couch potato and he never wants to leave your side! Dallas was chained outdoors for his first 9 years of life. When his “family” moved they dumped him at the shelter. But that was a blessing in disguise because now Dallas is a house pet and after some adjustment, he’s decided this is the life!  Dallas loves to run and play with his foster doggie sisters. He doesn’t always like his foster dog brothers though. He was anxious at first (and who could blame him after his start in life?!)and even jumped a chain link fence shortly after his freedom ride. Dallas now takes an inexpensive daily medication for his anxiety and he is brilliant! He’s nearly perfect with house training, which is amazing considering he wasn’t neutered until a week ago and never lived in a house. His crate training is going well, he doesn’t love it but he does settle down after a short time.  He is fantastically smart. Being part Dalmatian, Dallas is nearly completely deaf. But he is such a quick learner that he is already picking up on some signs that his foster mom and dad are using for “come” and “sit.” The deafness really doesn’t faze him and since he never wants you to be out of his line of sight, recall hasn’t been a problem. He is surprisingly spry for 9 years old, he runs and plays with his 2-3 year old doggie friends and keeps up right along with them. He’s great on a leash and a nice size at 50 lbs. He loves people and kids.  With the separation and car ride anxiety improving every day, Dallas is ready for his happily every after! Dallas would love to spend his first holiday season off the chain snuggled up safe and warm with his forever family. He needs someone with patience and understanding but will reward you with immense love and gratitude for the rest of his days. It’s been amazing to see his transformation in just a few short weeks and being his foster family has been the most rewarding rescue experience yet for his foster parents. Can you give this sweet deserving boy a place in your heart and home?  show less

Demi I’m a sweet little timid girl who is just starting to come out of my shell- I love to explore the areas of my foster parents house that are off limits- (ie I just found the cat litter box- and my new favorite treat is cat crunchies! ) This makes my foster mom want to puke because my most favorite activity is using my laser fast tongue to give her kisses while she tries to put on my leash In all seriousness- I’m a bundle of love, I get the excited wiggles when I see the cats or the 6 year old dog that I am staying with. I’m good with my manners- when they hiss or snap at me, I back off.  My foster mom is working with me to show me new things- I’m tiny as compared to my bolder brother Dixon - and that takes me quickly into new settings- I like to take it easy and slowly go about new things- this is my first time for all this new stuff! When I get scared- I freeze and lay close to the ground. I’m not doing this much anymore- but it was my way of gaining some safety- it’s way better than running for the hills! I hope to find someone to love me unconditionally because I have so much love to give! I also would probably love to have a kitty of my own (there is an all black 13 year old kitty here (she looks just like me) and I would just love snuggle up and take my naps with her!  show less
