Meet Athena! This gal is a typical big strong girl💪🏼 with a heart of GOLD. ✨ Despite being failed earlier in life, bred time and time again, and dumped— Athena has nothing but LOVE to give. She is a huge cuddler and there is no shortage of kisses! Her leash manners have improved, she will tug a bit but is learning quickly. She is so SMART! She has learned "sit" and is learning other basic commands! She is doing great with house training and does well with asking when to go out!  She doesn't do well around female dogs but is living with a male dog her size and with proper introduction and supervision they're fine together! Athena was recently spayed and she is calming down a bit now.   She's just a girl looking to find her spot in the world. She would do best with a strong owner who has patience. And love!♥️ If you are interested in adopting or viewing our available dogs, please visit crossyourpaws.com.  If you have an application on file- please message us on Facebook -do not email! Daxter is a 5 year old sweet boy that is in need of a new home! He is basset mix with some extra tini legs to keep him low to the ground for brute strength and a little extra chunk around the mid line for warm snuggles 😂❤️ Daxter is potty trained, crate trained, and a perfect gentleman in the home if left alone ! He loves his ball and playing fetch! This is not an easy rehoming. Daxter needs a home with no kids, cats, or other dogs.  We have come to realize, when we say a “ safe place “ , Daxter needs a home that is just his dog parents, him, and a cuddly place on the couch/ bed and he is the happiest dog in the world! He loves to smell, smell, smell and be outdoors so a fenced in yard would be helpful. He does not try to jump fences so fence height doesn’t concern us in any way! Or he'd enjoy going on many walks with his pawrents so he can stop and spell the roses 🌹 Between the rescue, current owner, and in-home trainer, we have all decided to begin Daxter on Prozac to see if this helps him over come some of his anxieties in life and broaden his ability to be introduced to new things in life in a positive manner!  If you would like to be the one to save a TRUE rescue in need, that has fallen to the hands of humans that have failed him in his past life, and feel you have a calm home life for Daxter to play ball, lounge in the yard, cuddle up on the couch, and give you endless laughs and attention, please apply @crossyourpaws.com  show less

Hello everyone, I am Duchess. And if my name speaks of royalty, it is because I am! 👑 I wasn't always living a royal life though🥺.  I was found abandoned, living on the side of the road with my three pups until I was rescued into this now royal life! But I am still waiting for my forever 🏰 castle!  I am crate trained, potty trained, and I do good on a leash too! What more can you ask for?!♥️ I am VERY treat motivated.  I am probably a pug/Jack Russell mix. I can take a fence from a standing position so if you have a fenced in yard, a taller fence is ideal however I do not need a fence. I love going for walks.  I love ❤️ luv’ins. Belly rubs are my favorite! I do well with dogs but do prefer dogs my size (I’m about 26lbs). Unless you have a very laid back larger dog, bigger dogs do scare me a bit (but remember I’m not a a little lady so that’s why). I am absolutely cool if I am the only royal dog member in the house too. Slow introductions to any animal (cat or dog) is a request please! I love toys and blankets too! If your castle 🏰 is open to a small dog, I am your princess 👸🏻! Calling all Husky lovers!  Hi, My name Liza MaSmelli (you’ll find me listed as ISA online) and I am a two year old female (spayed) husky who is looking for my perfect forever ♥️ I was found as a stray in Kentucky, so my foster family does not know much about my past. I take a little while to fully trust people, but once I do, I am as SWEET as Candy 🍭🍬  My foster momma says that I am the calmest husky she has ever met, and is shocked by how low energy I am for my breed! I love going outside and on walks. whenever it’s time to go outside, I get the silliest zoomies! I am also potty trained and will let you know when I need to go 💁🏼‍♀️ I also love car rides, and going to Starbucks to get a pup cup!  Liza can be a grumpy girl, and does not like being touched in her ears. She is not a fan of being brushed or getting nails clipped, so she will need a special person to work with her for that! She will let you know when she is not happy, she turns into the typical vocal husky and may bark and growl a bit. Because of this, we recommend no young kids, as we want to assure that her boundaries are respected and everyone is safe. Liza prefers only big dogs, and no cats! She would also do well as an only dog. Liza will need training to work through some of her special fears and protection of toys and food. She may require some extra work, but this wonderful pup is definitely worth it! Could you be the perfect home for Liza?♥️ Please apply at crossyourpaws.com if you are interested in giving a forever home.  If you have an application on file- please message us on Facebook -do not email!  The website is always kept up to date on which dogs are still available! Nicco is the name, or Scooby take your pick! I am a very smart boy at just a perfect age of 9 months old! I weigh about 50 pounds with a bit more weight and growing to go! This boy deserves his forever home full of love and attention for him. He is full of personality and a goofy puppy. Very smart…I mean who doesn’t want a housetrained puppy that sits for dinner and gives paw for treats. After living with his foster parents for a month and working on training and consistency he has become the almost perfect dog with a few quirks that any dog owner should know how to correct. His favorite thing now is to watch the kids at the bus stop every morning outside. He takes a few minutes to warm up but if you show him gentle confident love he will certainly show it back. Little kids likely aren't for Nicco as quick movements and loud sounds make him nervous. If Nicco isn’t walking around with a toy in his mouth he is snoozing on his back all 4 paws up in the air or sunbathing on the deck. We love him and love how far he has come and he needs that forever now. He loves playing with the foster parents maniac aussie/heeler mix Dakota, so certainly has the energy to run run run!! Nicco really hopes to meet you soon.♥️🐾  If you are interested in adopting or viewing our available dogs, please visit crossyourpaws.com.  If you have an application on file- please message us on Facebook -do not email! Peach is looking for her new forever home. She is a loving dog, her favorite past times are snuggles, fetching a ball and her Kong bones. She does well in training and is inquisitive around other dogs. We think Peach would do best with no small children in the home because she loves her person and shows some guarding. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Other than the blindness in one eye, she is healthy.  Hello, my name is Peach! I am 3-4 year old female pitbull mix. I was left abandoned in the middle of a busy road. I was scared and running for my life. But I was rescued! Now I am looking for my forever home. I spent many days starving and unloved but now I weigh around 70lbs! I am going blind in my right eye and sometimes I bump into things or get scared if I see shadows. When I get scared I never show aggression. I love people of all shapes and sizes even the extra small ones, but sometimes I jump. I am always very excited to see people and be shown affection. With the right introduction I would be great with another dog that's high energy just like me. I would not be a good fit for a family with small animals as sometimes I want to chase them. I am crate trained, house trained, I do well riding in the car and on my leash. My crate is my safe space and I always need it available in case I get overwhelmed. Sometimes when I’m bored I like to chew so I need toys around all the time. Tennis balls are my favorite! This year for Christmas all I want is a home to call my own, a bed to snuggle into, and a human to always reassure me that I am safe. Sheeba is a shy, very scared girl. She is a lab mix, approximately 2yrs old, and only 30lbs. Sheeba was abandoned by her owners. KY's animal control officer saw her and knew the people had moved away and noticed how thin she was so he stopped to help her. She was too scared to come close to him so she had to be caught in a trap. She still had a rope around her neck from where she’d been tied up. After carefully coaxing her out with treats, she’s very treat motivated, she warmed up to the shelter staff.  Sheeba has been in her new foster home and had some pain while using the bathroom. She visited the emergency vet and they immediately learned she has a fractured spine near the base of her tail and back. This is causing serious discomfort to squat, lift her tail and move her bowel. No surgery can be performed to fix it, as there are tons of nerves in there that could cause other problems if damaged. The doctor gave her a couple weeks of pain meds to help with the discomfort and feels she will heal (although a little crooked) in a few weeks.  However, she is settling in nicely with her fosters pup and already stole her favorite bone!  She is coming out of her corner, but it's all about baby steps.  She loves getting face pets and looking you deep in the eyes.  She also loves scratches under her chin and cuddles (on her terms).     Sheeba (aka Sheeebz) Update! (It’s a big one!) It is very hard to believe that only 7 days ago, I was so scared of everything! You could see 5 of my ribs, my hip bones stuck out and my fractured lower spine was making it miserable for me to go to the bathroom. I have put on a few pounds and not only are my bones barely showing, my coat is so shiny and soft now! My medicine has worked better than I could have thought and I am not having any problems with pain anymore. I have been really loving my foster home and my foster sister is helping me gain my confidence and she loves to play and wrestle with me even though I always tackle her legs out (strategy!). I get to sleep in my own big crate and sometimes I go in there just to relax and hang out. I don’t bark very much at all, but when I do, it is a sweet little howwwlll so I think someone In my family was a beagle. Now that going to the bathroom doesn’t hurt so much, I’m doing so well with my housetraining. My foster mom has these potty parties with treats every time I go outside, so I’m realizing that’s the best approach because I LOVE treats. She does watch me like a hawk inside though, since it’s only been a week. It is quiet where I live now, there are no young children or loud noises and I feel so comfortable in that environment. I’m a little extra timid around men right now, but maybe with enough time, I will give them as much affection as I give women. Also, I love going out on walks, there is so much to see and I’m very light on the leash. I just enjoy the stroll. If I feel you are the one for me, I will always stare deep into your eyes and give you a kiss so you know how much I love you! show less
