PLEASE READ BIO BEFORE PUTTING IN AN APPLICATION.  Olive is part of a small group Beagles that were rescued earlier this year w/the help of Budda Rescue & our Dog Control.  Olive (& Stella) are still w/us as they had been so traumatized and we realized after a couple months that it would take time for them to trust let alone finding the right type of adopter for each of them.  It takes a special understanding and type of person to understand Beagles, so someone that has had Beagles is preferred and almost necessary.  They are incredible dogs!  Olive is a very sweet girl, but will need someone w/patience & understanding.  She has a toy that she can be seen carrying all over the place - a little like her security blanket. She looks for our staff instead of shying away from them.  In her own way, she is learning to trust humans again.  Olive needs someone who will open their heart, their mind and their soul to what HER needs are and NOT what they think she needs!  She needs someone who will plan on visiting her, listen to what we have learned about her and what it will take to make her thrive.  Olive can’t live w/someone who will leave her home during the day - someone who works remote OR is retired would be the best option.  Olive needs someone who is devoted to her continued growth.  As the owner of 2 Beagles, I can tell you that Beagles have so much love to give, but it is important to understand the mind of a Beagle.  Olive is a little girl, but she’s smart and if bored will think of ways to escape.  She needs to be engaged, exercised (as all Beagles do,) and she needs to be LOVED and not caged.  All Beagles need a great home!   show less
