She is one talkative gal! She knows what she wants nad that is head scratches followed by pets all over and will be sure to tell you not to stop! She is so pretty and all black, except for a tiny little white toe on one foot. Amy Furry Fowler and her sibling, Sheldon Pooper, were unfortunately surrendered by their owners to a foster with the rescue due to a change in living situations.  The owners' new home could not allow for pets.  While both kitties were well loved, Amy is not thrilled with the change in living situation and has decided she'd prefer to be an only-cat.  She hasn't gotten along with Sheldon nor with the kittens in her foster home.  She will need to be in an only-cat environment and it would probably be best to go to a home with older children, she adores her foster kids, and we find her cuddled up with them. Once she warms up to you she's an absolute doll and will stick to you like glue. If you want a kitty who can have a conversation about her day, she is the one for you!  She may just need a little patience while she works out her quirks to feel comfortable in her new space.  We are a foster home based rescue in Clarksville, TN, and our cats are in private foster homes in the Clarksville area. Banana Pepper and his fellow spicy siblings were part of TNR efforts (trap, neuter, release/return), however their mother was an older stray cat with numerous health issues who ended up humanely euthanized and the TNR crew couldn't bear to see these kittens face the same fate.  Though they were hissy and wary of humans, they were brought into rescue and given the chance to simmer down and become affectionate kitties.  Banana Pepper didn't take long to realize the indoor life of leisure was right up his alley and has become sweet, affectionate, and cuddly little dude. Casey and his siblings, Merry and Glory, were originally part of TNR efforts (trap, neuter, return/release), but could not go back to their colony due to planned development.  The most timid of his trio, he's still acclimating to indoor life and human interaction.  He takes some patience and a calm enviroment to feel safe, but can be petted when approached slowly and calmly.  He would likely do best in a home with other cats so that they can show him the ropes and put him at ease that he's truly safe in his furever home. Glory is quite the character, as evidenced by her photos! While she and her siblings were initially part of TNR efforts (trap, neuter, release/return), they could not go back to their original colony due to planned development.  Instead, they came into rescue as some shy, skittish kittens.  It took Glory a bit longer than her sister, Merry, to settle into her foster home, but she was soon motivated by food and treats to be more social.  She may take time to warm up in her forever home, but patience and good treats should help her acclimate in no time. Jake Gyllenhair was hanging out around the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County.  The awesome team there regularly feed the neighborhood strays so that they can trap, neuter, and return them.  Jake showed interest in being an inside kitty, so we told the crew that if they trap him, we'd take him.   Jake is still rather shy of this indoor life existence.  He prefers his privacy, but regularly likes to be in close proximity to his foster parents.  He hasn't become a cuddle buddy, but he does make for a great guard cat to scare away the monsters under the bed (that's one of his preferred hangout locations).  He gets along fine with the other cats in his foster home, as well as the resident dog.  He'd likely do well in a quieter home, or at least one with patience to let him come around on his own terms. John Denfur was part of an outdoor colony with a wonderful caretaker who initially TNR'd (trap, neuter, return/release) him to ensure he could live a longer, healthier life and that there wouldn't be dozens of kittens joining the colony.  Unfortunately, John did sustain an injury that led to his back right leg needing to be amputated.  His caretaker was concerned about releasing him back to the colony, so he came into rescue! John is still quite shy of humans, so he may not be a cuddly lap buddy.  But he loves other cats and would make a great companion in that regard! He will need to be adopted to a home with another kitty!  He is food and treat motivated, so his love and affection could likely still be won over by the right Mountain Mama (or Papa). Meet Josephine the Baker!  She is mom to the "Cupcake" litter of kittens, though her kitten baking days are finally behind her!  She was left behind at an apartment complex and she and her newborn kittens were taken to Animal Control before coming into rescue.   Josephine hasn't been a big fan of dogs, though she's learned to tolerate well-mannered ones and will only be adopted to a home with a cat experienced, gentle dog friend She does get along with other cats after proper, slow introductions. We think she probably do best in a calmer, quieter home, and get along great with older kids.  Josephine is so incredibly sweet, and doesn't mind being held and getting your attention with all the pets just for her! Once in your arms she wants your snuggles and will curl up and relax, this lady will melt in your arms once she feels comfortable. She still gets the zoom zooms and likes to play, so make sure you have some toys to play with because she still knows how to have fun, and chase the sparkle ball or laser pointer! Her sweet face has those intense eyes to melt your heart. With such soft fur and a gentle attitude she will be a wonderful addition to the right family. Mama Joyce and her four Hellfire club kittens were found as strays and needed some extra TLC after their life on the street, she can be a bit timid at first but once comfortable is as sweet as can be. Joyce wants to snuggle mostly at bedtime when things are quiet and is a very good cuddle buddy. Once she is comfortable she is such a ham! She will come to your for attention and curl up close, although not a super snuggler yet, she wants to be around her favorite people and loves to get chin and butt scratchies! She would do best in a quieter home as loud noises make her a bit nervous. Joyce has been an amazing single mother, but is ready to find someone to love her like Hopper loves her namesake. If you have seen the Big Bang Theory these kitties will make you chuckle! This lady likes to cuddle up next to you for chin scratchies and some extra snacks. She will definitely jump in your lap to let you know she is ready for attention and will rub on you to make sure you know it is her time and hang out whike you watch TV and keep her comforted. Merry and her siblings Glory and Casey were very skittish TNR (trap, neuter, return/release) kittens who unfortunately couldn't be returned to their colony due to planned development.  While skittish, they were not aggressive or truly feral.  Once allowed to decompress, Merry became very friendly and exploratory, enjoying playing with other kittens in her foster home, and regularly greeting her foster parents when it's feeding time. She will take some patience to acclimate to a new forever home, and will likely benefit from going to a home with one of her siblings or a house with another cat/kitten already established to help show her the ropes and feel safe and secure. Mustang Sally was ready to slow down from motherhood and living life as a stray and was successfully trapped by fosters in our rescue, along with her two kittens.  Sally is VERY shy and isn't keen on being handled.  Fosters are working to draw her out of her shell and help her relax and settle into domestic bliss.  While she is fully vetted and otherwise "healthy," if adopted today she would need to go to a home familiar with socializing stray cats.  We are hopeful that she will come out of her shell and show her true personality if given ample time to adjust and a quiet space to gain her confidence. She would likely do best in a home with minimal noise and activity. Paper is the sibling to Rock and the daughter of Mama LizardSpock! If you have watched the Big Bang Theory then Bazinga!  She is the more shy of the bunch and will need some extra assurance you have a gentle touch. Once she feels comfortable she is happy have attention and is vocal about having enough so she can go play. This little gal is not the most keen on being picked up, but once comfortable, she will let you hold her for attention, she is very vocal which must be respected so she can be put down to go play or when she has had enough. Paper is still full of kitten energy so playtime is a must!  She would do best as an ONLY kitty in the home, and would do best with older, cat experienced kiddos. *Special Needs* Pawdrey Hepburn is a shy, timid girl, and we can't say we blame her.  She had a bit of a rough go of things before coming into rescue.  Pawdrey was part of an animal hoarding/cruelty case along with 93 other cats who were pulled out of the situation in February 2022.  We were able to learn that she'd been in a smaller room with many other cats in the situation and had to struggle for resources at times.  She'd also apparently been in the situation for several years, having abscesses rupture, heal, and reemerge.  We were lucky that when she was pulled she was in otherwise good health except for being extremely scared and semi-feral due to lack of socialization. She's been in a calm foster home with other cats and small dogs and appears to get along well with them.  She still isn't keen on human interaction, but will coexist peacefully in the same space as her foster mom.  Pawdrey will need an experienced cat owner with plenty of patience to help coax her out of her shell.  She is not your typical kiitty wanting your attention, she needs a quiet space to feel safe and be able to come out on her own terms, that will take time. With patience and dedication, we know she has the right humans waitning to give her the time and space she needs. This sweet kitty has the right home waiting for her! We recommend a child-free home but one with other calm pets might be right up her alley. Piper is one of our Charmed Sisters and what a gal! She is such a sweet little kitty that loves to play and will make anything from a bottle cap to her favorite sparkle ball a game, if you can give her your time she will melt in your arms. She likes to zoom around with her foster siblings and get some good ear scratchies. Piper has an ear for the food bowl and will always be on time for food! She is soft and sweet and may shy away at first but once she has cast a spell on you she will be by your side. Quasi is a special kitty who has what is most likely an old injury in her shoulder that although healed, is visible when she walks. Her right shoulder blade appears to come up above her shoulder while walking making it look like she has a hump when she walks. She has been evaluated by two vets and has a clean bill of health! Quasi was found by some wonderful people that were kind enough to take her in to get her shoulder looked at because it was thought she was in pain, but low and behold, she was in great health! After having confirmed no previous owners Quasi is ready for her own safe, forever home!  She is a great house panther, she walks a little low to the ground and is stealth as she sneaks up to bat the cat toys! She can be a bit shy at first but once she warms up she really really lets her vocals shine, she has a froggy kind of meow that is hard to resist when she wants pets or treats. Quasi is definitely a kitty that needs someone to that will pay attention to her and give her catnip, treats and let her sit in their lap, she also loves to rub on your legs to let you know she is there so she can get some quality one on one time.  Although currently in a foster home with other kitties, she needs  to be the only cat in the home! She is great around well behaved dogs and would not do well around small children or busy environments due to her shoulder. The sassiest and most vocal of her cupcake-themed litter, Red Velvet is small but mighty! She rules the roost, holds her own amongst her siblings, and is fearless in the face of her friendly foster family's dogs. She is known to sit on your chest while sleeping so that hers is the first face you see in the morning.  She loves to sit in your lap at the dinner table.  Her favorite time of day is meal time, unless it's playtime. Mama Reese's was pulled from Montgomery County Animal Care and Control because she was not a fan of the confined space of her kennel.  Once she was free to roam around, she was a much happier camper! She came with five of her Reese's Pieces, a kindle of kittens with candy bar names!  Reese's did have complications from an upper respiratory infection, including a bout of feline chlamydia which affected her eyesight.  She does still have sufficient vision and gets around her foster house just fine, but she usually prefers to have a vocal cue before being petted so that she isn't startled. Have a rough go of things between life on the streets raising five kittens, confinement in animal control, and illness recovery, Reese's sometimes has a very low tolerance for the antics of others (who can blame her).  She likes her personal space and will be very vocal about it to other cats and dogs.  She can otherwise cohabitate with other pets just fine, though she would relish a calm household where she can be the queen bee. Ron Purrgundy is in a glass case of emotion.  He is a bit too young for scotch, but does love scratches.  Scritchy itchy scritchy scratches, even on his belly!  He loves to frolic and play, but is also content to be cuddled and snuggled. He has such a small meow for such a big hunk of a kitty and is just as sweet as he is handsome! His tail has a tiny white tip and has that classic tabby pattern, Ron is a cool guy who wants to be with his favorite fans. Give him attention and he will melt in your arms and give you his big, pretty eyes.  He has no preference if he's adopted by a crazy cat man or crazy cat lady.  As long as you stay classy, San Diego, he'll be your anchor-kitty for life!
