(DOB 10/28/2022). Due to Bowser's young age, he has not yet been neutered. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC). Meet the Super Mario Bros gang! Their foster family are video game fanatics and aptly named them after their favorite Nintendo characters. Bowser, like his namesake, is a big and chubby kid. But this is where their similarity ends. This Bowser is a gentle giant! He is energetic, but during play time he is happy sitting on his foster mama's lap and watch the action. He is definitely a big cuddle bug! Bowser has an extra toe/dew claw on both his hind legs/paws! Add that to the adorable wrinkles on his big forehead, to the little bit of brindle markings you see flecked throughout his coat, and his velvey ears, you aren't gonna want keep your hands up this sweet boy. Bowser is a sweet cuddly guy. He is very energetic and playful, and despite his size is a gentle giant. Bowser weighed in at 20lbs at the 10 week mark and still growing. He'll need an older sibling who has the same amount of energy as him, and at the same time has the patience for a young pup. He will need lots of room to run, romp and play and that includes a 5ft solid fenced in yard. Bowser is very smart and is treat motivated; he already will SIT and DOWN on command. His adoptive family will need to plan on positive reinforcement training. Puppies are sponges and need to learn early and consistently proper/acceptable behavior. They will need to take the time every day to focus on training. Since Bowser is expected to be a big boy, teaching him early commands like SIT, DOWN, WAIT, STAY, LOOK, PLACE, and loose leash walking manners will be needed to help him grow into a well adjusted and well behaved young dog. Adopters will need the time and energy to play/exercise and train a puppy each and every day. Remember puppies need parents who have the time and patience to train because no one wants a big dog that pulls them on a leash, jumps up and hasn't had the proper time and attention needed for good manners. He is playful and mischievous (like most puppies). Remember, if allowed, they will get into all kinds of things do to their natural curious nature. You need to keep them busy and monitored so they aren't playing with your favorite shoes, your rug, etc. Also, puppies are teething so they bite and nip at this age; it is appropriate behavior to learn bite inhibition but they need to be given the proper things to chew on! So no little children *(8+ years old) to avoid little fingers and toes ending up in their little mouths. Bowser loves all other dogs, people and kids. He doens't know what a stranger is and thinks everyone is a new friend. With continued socialization, this is a great way to teach pups about lots of different, people, places and things. He is very young and will need continued potty training and crate training. His typical day...eat (poop), play, sleep...repeat. There's just about nothing cuter than this age and with a lot of love big Bowser will grow up to be a big ole luv bug! Their momma is a Plott Hound, and we aren't sure what Daddy is but Bowser is certainly going to grow up to be a big, handsome boy! Are you ready to add some Super Mario fun into your family's life?? As part of Bowser's $350 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. At the time of adoption, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.
