Ava is only available on for local adoption - within 1 hour of Wake Forest NC as she is heartworm positive.  The rescue will pay for all her medical treatment at our veterinarian.  Ava is such a great dog; loves other dogs and loves to be with her people.  She is also good with cats but will chase them (in play) if they run.  She would also do well with older (~12+) kids just due to her size and energy level.  Speaking of energy, Ava does want an active and fun family.  She still has a lot of playful energy to burn off every day.  Ava is looking for a home with a fence (5ft tall) so she can run and play.  She loves a car ride and is also well mannered on a leash so why not just take her everywhere you go?  She loves everyone she meets so no one is a stranger to Ava.  Ava is on the  submissive side and has a more shy personality. As an added bonus, she is already house and crate trained!  You get the playfulness of a puppy without all the "puppyhood troubles and antics."  She should be fine as an only dog as long as the family spends a good amount of time with her each day.  Or she could be in a home with other furry friends that match her energy level.  She is easy to please in that way.  Ava loves walking and/or running with family.  She enjoys playing with other dogs and playing with toys.  Ava, like many dogs, is scared of loud thunder and lightening and fireworks so keeping her safe and calm during those kinds of events are the kind of parents she is looking for. She simply enjoys being with their person.  She is a snuggler and loves affection, lots of pets and is a bit of a velcro dog. Ava is a smart girl and is food/treat motivated.  Which is always great for ongoing positive reinforcement training.  She is already good on a leash and has good manners when out for a walk.   She is a 2 year old, 31lbs, Cur mix. As part of Ava's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Ava, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

(DOB 04/28/2022)  Due to Boone's young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  We will require another active, playful and energic dog in the home that can match this cute puppy's energy level.  Puppies thrive with other dogs as part of their socialization skills development during their early years.   After play time, this sweetie is going to need lots of love and snuggle time!  Make sure your heart and home ready for little kisses and soft snores.   A home where there is not large gaps of time where the puppy is left alone is important as well.  So a home where there is work from home, flexible work or school schedules or family members that stay at home are important.  This cutie will need several potty breaks and playtime throughout the day.  So someone committed to the time invest is very important.   No young children (less than ~8 years) since puppies at this age are teething and putting everything in their mouths which includes little ones toes, hands, fingers, etc.  The adoptive parents will need to be able to monitor proper child and pup interaction.   Puppies need structure, routines, and positive reinforcement training to learn boundaries and how to be a well mannered adult dog.  Teaching a puppy at an early age is easy when you start young and spend a little time each day "playing" with new commands or behaviors.  The new family will need to be prepared for spending the time and energy into teaching this young pup how to be a well rounded and well behaved little angel.  Introducing your new pup to all kinds of new experiences is import in the first year - take them in the car to new places, meet new people, and ensure you  work with leash walking.   You will need to be prepared for the puppy stages of house training, crate training, providing proper chewing items etc.  Puppies need you to help them be successful as they mature month over month.  They have lots to learn from their new parents and family.   Can't wait to meet this little bundle of fur - then fill out an application to adopt! As part of Boone's $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Boone, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Bowie-he has such an expressive face and just catches the eye of anyone who sees him!  He is pretty hunk-a-licious! Bowie is a bit of a shy boy. He likes to just hang out in the house of the sofa, and he's pretty lazy for a young pup.  He has mastered the ability to lay in all kinds of different positions and his pictures demonstrate his lounging abilities.  When he is on the sofa he likes to be near you but won't be on top of you. On the other hand, he may be laying on his furry friend or half off the sofa...you just never know with this cute guy! Bowie will need another friendly pup in the home to build his confidence.  He likes hanging out and sleeping with his furry foster siblings.  The 3 of them can come and go in and out of the house throughout the day.  Bowie will play a little bit with his siblings and then he's ready to chill out again. He does love road trippin', so he would LOVE to go with you!!  He actually doesn't love being left alone and has some separation anxiety, so a family that works from home or is home the majority of the time will be best for him.  He likes everyone he meets (and let's be honest, he is so adorable, everyone loves him, too), so bring him with you, he'll be a hit! Bowie is good on a leash and likes going for walks with his people.  Bowie doesn't require a fence since he loves being inside with his family; his adopters would need to be able to commit to several walks a day and play time in the house.  He likes a variety of toys, soft, tug, chew, squeaky and shares them nicely.  Because Bowie does not require a fence, and loves being indoors an apartment, condo or townhome would work for Bowie as well.  He would likely do best in a home where someone is home most of the time, works from home, etc.   Bowie gets along with all the pups he has met; he has not had an opportunity to be cat or kid tested.  He is still "puppy-nippy" with his young age, so young children (under age of 10) would probably not be a great fit for Bowie.  We are working on his crate training and going slowly since he doesn't love it.  Patience is key, and we will want an adopter that won't mind taking the time with Bowie to let him adjust and learn.  DOB 6/29/21. He is a 57lb, Lab/Pit mix.As part of Bowie's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Bowie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Calypso is a road trip fanatic!  She enjoys going for rides in the car whether it be in a seat, carseat, or floorboard; it makes no difference to her.  As long as she gets to go somewhere with you while the AC is blowing, she is a happy girl. Do you want a furry companion to pack up and go with you...then this little girl may be your paw-fect match! She is friendly with everyone she meets so wherever you go she will be an instanst hit - she knows no stranger. We really think she would do well as an agility or working dog as her energy level and smarts can definitely keep up with these kinds of activities. She is food and treat motivated so learning can be fun for her and you both. Calypso can be a little mouthy when she is bored and wants to play, so she is looking for an active new family.  So if you are looking to add a fun loving pup to your family, Calypso gets along with dogs and older kids/teenagers (due to size/energy/playfulness). Though a fenced yard and other playful dogs in the home aren't required it is probably BEST for Calypso to have both for her age and playfulness. She loves being outside and running around in the fenced yard and having a great time. Calypso can be a little mischievious if bored so burning up energy is the best way to keep her bright mind busy! Since a yard with a 5ft fence is best for her, an apartment, condo or townhome would not be a good fit for Calypso. Calypso is a loyal, loving, and energetic young pup who enjoys long walks, fast runs, chasing balls and playing with other dogs. She likes to get her zoomies out and then cuddle up with her humans and favorite toy. She is happy to share some kisses and just make your day! We are working on her leash manners and her new family would need to continue to build on this with positive reinforcement only training.  She can be slightly grabby for the leash when she is ready for a walk and you aren't. So get those walking shoes on for this fun little girl!  Her current daily routine is something like this; walk and feed in morning, walk and feed in evening, walk mid day walk and snuggling after walks/runs. Some of her favorite things to do are; tug-o-war, walking/running with family, playing with other dogs, car rides, playing with toys, going to doggie daycare but not dog parks. She will be 2 in October. Do you want to be the one that celebrates this special day with her? She is already house and crate trained and is such a sweet and good girl. She has not be cat tested. She is a 1.5 year old, 35lb, female Lab mix.  As part of Calypso's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Calypso, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

If you are looking for a calm, low-maintenance cat, look no further, Cami is the girl for you!   She is a wonderful, undemanding, companion that enjoys laying on the bed and watching tv with her foster family.   She wants to be near you, not on you.    She really enjoys living life indoors.... with all of the creature comforts... food, comfy places to nap, food, scratching posts, food, good tv shows, food, a nice clean litter box, food, perches to hang out and nap on.   Yes, we are aware we said food and naps several times... she has never been known to turn down a snack or a meal.   After all, don't we all wish we could take a little snooze when we have a full tummy? She is very laid-back.   She likes things to be calm and laid-back, like her.  She isn't a big fan of loud noises.  She gets along well with cats and dogs as she lives with both in her foster home.  So, canine and feline antics are a-okay with her.    She enjoys pets, rubs, and head scratches.   She isn't a big fan of being picked up and held.   Once she gets used to you and trusts you, she will be more trusting and tolerant. Adult humans are her preference.   She tolerates older children although she does tend to avoid them.  She won't do well in a home with younger children.   Their unpredictability, sudden movements, and volume would likely be too much for her.       Cami is just over 1 year old and her adoption fee is $60. She tested negative for FIV/Feline Leukemia and Heartworms. She has been spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccinations and rabies.   She has also been microchipped. Delilah walks well on a leash and is well behaved. Therefore, Delilah does not require a fence as long as her family likes going on several nice walks each day.  She will be a hit around the neighborhood, greenway, outings, etc. She is SUPER sweet and friendly. She loves everyone and everyone loves her.  She doesn't know what the word stranger means. My foster mom says her new home should be with an active person or family where she can get her energy out.  Delilah would love to have another dog to play.  If not, just know she loves going to doggie day care and playing with furry friends!  After play time, there's nothing like some good cuddle time. You will find her ears to be velvty soft and may want to stroke them for hours.  So she could be in a home with other friendly pups or a single dog home as long as her family let her have some regular fun with furry friends. She has the personality that will light up a room. She will toss toys and treats around and make a game of it all by herself.  It is quite adorable.  She really loves all kinds of toys...soft ones, squeaky ones, fluffy ones so make sure to have a good variety for Delilah. She is a true hound and has a big hound body and personality.  Since she is tall, she can reach counters and with that amazing hound nose she will want to get a bite of those tasty morsals if you leave her unattended.  What's yours is mine kind of a thing in her mind!  Maybe sometimes she can a bit stubborn, but it's a hound thing a ya gotta love it!  If the home already has a fence it should be a minimum 5ft tall. She is really a great addition to just about any family!  Delilah is an easy girl and will adapt to many different scenarios. She's not too picky.  She kid friendly as well.  She is already crate and house trained and likes to go out to potty 4-5 times a day. She is a purebred American Foxhound. As part of Delilah's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Delilah, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Do you have a dog that needs another happy, playful, fun-loving and energic furry sister? She loves her pup friends at doggie daycare so a family with other playful and fun furry family members is a must. Desi really loves her furry friends and enjoys going on "double date" walks with them. Since she is on the shy side, another dog always gives her the boost of confidence she needs when she is out on walk. She is even playful on walks with her foster friends and it's just adorable to see. Cute head tilt and beautiful markings! Desiree is gorgeous and just absolutely stunning in person. She has the most gorgeous coloring and beautiful facial expressions. Her coat is silky soft, and she has velvty ears. She is a head turnner! Desiree loves to run and play and is silly with her stuffed toys. She is just a joy to be around and makes you smile! She has a slight shy personality with brand new people, but she will quickly warm up to you and steals your heart.  A family that will have safety measures in place for doors, on walks, and in a fenced yard until she settles in and is safe would be great! A solid, sturdy 6ft fence is needed for Desi. She loves being outside and playing in the yard with other dogs and people.  She is currently working on leash manners, so a family wanting to work on positive reinforcement training is important.  She likes going on walks with her furry friends, so grab a partner and take two! She has learned SIT but not DOWN or the "infamous" word NO; however she is treat motivated so that is always a great way to train!  Also, within the fenced yard working on recall training with treats as well.  When excited she jumps up so that we are working on with her.  She is very sweet and can definitely be a snuggler or lap dog and would like to cuddle with you on the sofa. She will lean in on you to give her some love and attention. She is crate trained and is working on potty training. She finds her crate to be a comfort zone.  Unless with her people, she is crated because she is still in a chewing phase and likes to find paper to tear up. We are introducing her to car rides and she loved going for a ride for fun things like a pup cup treat.  We beleive she will be a good companion in the car.  Since she feels safe in her crate, a travel crate may be a good option for her. Desiree has been treated for heartworms and will be retested by our rescue until then she will be local adoption within 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC. She is a 2-year-old, 45lb female Hound mix. As part of Desiree's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Desiree, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

(DOB 04/03/2022)  Due to Doc Holliday's young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Doc is the smallest of the litter, but don’t let his small size fool you! He has a huge personality of love, spunk, and playfulness! He loves to play tug of war with his human and fur siblings. He also loves pets and a good snuggle with his people. He has typical puppy energy and will require a fur sibling to show him the ropes of being a well socialized dog. He is a happy guy and looking to join a happy and fun family! New parents will need to continue to work on house training, crate training, and have the patience and energy to give a puppy all of the attention they require to learn and grow up to well rounded young adults.  This includes proper play, positive reinforcement training and lots and lots of love! Since puppies like to put everything in their mouths, including little peoples hands, fingers, toes, etc. children in the home will need to be older than 8 years of age.  Remember puppies have very sharp baby teeth and they are teething so lots of chewing is needed for them.  You will need a variety of chew toys to redirect them. Doc is already crate trained and goes night-night and sleeps well over night. As part of Doc Holliday's $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Doc Holliday, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Are you looking for a sweet boy who LOVES his people?! Then look no further because Domino has arrived! He becomes the most energetic pup when you are around, and he smothers you in kisses. Once he calms down, you’re in for a good snuggle. His dark brown eyes just make you fall under his spell!  And if those don't do it, his amazing helicopter ears will transfix you! He walks on a leash like a pro and takes direction very well. Being crated is already a part of his routine which makes the process a breeze. Make sure to reward him with a treat every now and then 😉! He is the perfect addition to your family that you didn’t know was missing. Domino has typical puppy energy and loves to chase balls, play with toys and his stuffed bear. He will need a dog sibling or two that can match his energy in his life to help him corral his puppy energy and attitude.  Domino is cat friendly especially with dog-savvy cat(s), but he will likely learn quickly what a non-dog-savvy kittie(s) boundaries are since he is a quick learner. In addition, Domino’s new family will want to be ready for the time commitment of a puppy; he needs quality play time, teaching and training time, introducing him to new and different places and activities, so he can continue growing into a well adjusted, confident, and well mannered young adult. Domino loves to learn especially when treats are involved and making it a game with lots of love and positive reinforcement is fun for him! Like all puppies, Domino is teething and learning bite inhibition, so if their are children in the home, they should be no younger than 8 years of age.  Remember puppies put everything in their mouths which includes kids fingers and toes, so very young children are not a good fit for equally young puppies.  The family will need to show Domino what he can and should not be chewing on and redirect him to appropriate teething and chew toys. He does love all kinds of toys and swapping them out and giving him new or different ones are good for his budding puppy brain! This little guy has been good with new people and other dogs. He is a friendly, happy go lucky guy and ready to hang out with you wherever you are. He is good in the car and wants to be close to you so if you don't want him helping you drive, you probably should get a doggie car seat or travel crate. He loves attention and sweet petting and rubbing from anyone that wants to share some love. Domino is well on his way to potty training. His new family will just need to continue a regular routine with him and take him out to potty regularly. He loves going on walks with his family and is good on a leash. A fenced yard isn't a 100% required; however it would be preferred so he could play with his new furry siblings. If there is a fence it must be 5ft tall and solid. His thin frame allows him to get through slotted fencing. We would consider apartment/condo lifestyle as long as his family gets him out mutliple times a day to burn off energy. At night he sleeps soundly in his crate and is a good little sleeper.  (DOB 02/28/2022)  Due to Domino's young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).    As part of Domino's $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Domino, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Three-legged wonder boy!  Donnie has a SMILE FOR DAYS!  Never have a bad day with Donnie's big, happy, infectious love in your life. Donnie is a big snuggle bug. If you need a kiss; Donnie can help! He loves his people and showering them with affection! He is so happy all of the time that his little Boxer-nub of a tail goes a mile a minute and makes his whole hind-end wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!  Donnie is a big boy but still wants to be a lap dog. Sweet Donnie boy is special needs, but don't tell him that, he has no idea! Donnie lost his leg due to a large mast cell tumor that was wrapped around his elbow. Mast  Cell Tumors are cancerous lumps, his wonderful vet team had taken some additional tumors off other areas as well.  We seemed to be keeping them at bay, but a few others have popped up. We are continuing the treatment regime the doctor has suggested and looking at other alternatives for him.  So, if adopted he will need additional care for the rest of his life.  This sweet boy is personality plus, bubbly handsome and sweet as can be, he drew a bad straw in the genetic lottery but he knows his forever family is still out there waiting. If you have additional questions feel free to ask. Donnie says missing his front leg only makes it easier to get closer to his people.  He does not let it slow him down.  AT.  ALL!  He loves playing with his foster family's dog and play with toys.  He is big but very gentle even with the littlest dogs in the home.  He likes to go for walks but is just as happy spending time at home.  With 3 legs, a little walk goes a long way for him.  Then he is ready to curl up next to you, snuggle and snore!  He LOVES being with his people! He will let you know when it is breakfast and dinner time.  He is a respectful eater and very treat motivated for training.  Donnie is a big boy but has done great with his foster siblings.  He was even a home with a tiny Yorkie and was so good.  He will probably need to be in a home with dog savvy kids, just based on his size and lack of care for personal space.  He neeeeeds to love you, immediately, without care of who or what he has to go over, through, or by! He does fine while home alone and is not crate trained from what we can tell. He is very smart and is doing well learning his commands. He would love a home where he could get snuggles and hugs and kisses all day, walks and a nice fenced back yard! He is a 2-year-old, 65lb male Boxer mix. As part of Donnie's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Donnie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org for additional info on his Special Needs contact Laura at laurap@pawsforlifenc.org   show less

Elvis has a lot of charm and is a head turner!  He is also a bit of character and up for any shan-i-gans! Elvis is a lover boy.  Elvis has so many great qualities. He is a happy boy and after playing wants to snuggle and be a lap dog.  He is gentle/sweet and social with people and other dogs.  He loves to give and get attention; he is happy to let you give him lots of pets and belly rubs. He's so sweet & literally wants to be in the arms of a human, big or small. Elvis needs to be in a home with another happy, friendly pup.  He's a bit timid but trusting and another doggie sibling will help him continue to build his confidence.  Sweet Elvis is already crate and house trained, too!  He sleeps in his foster's bedroom in a crate and does just fine. He is well behaved at dinner time and his foster family have taught him well; he has great manners! Elvis has a lot of energy and will require a solid 6ft or taller fence.  He can be an escape artist so will need to have safety measures in place in the yard and in the home, so no little ones accidently leaving doors wide open, etc.  He likes running and playing in the large fenced backyard of his foster family.  He has 2 furry foster siblings to romp around with whenever he wants.  He likes a good game of tug-o-war. He likes his daily mile hike and is still working on leash manners. Elvis is smart and submissive and positive reinforcement training opportunities are a great way to build your relationship.  He LOVES riding in the car so pack him up and take him with you wherever you go; he loves a good road trip! Just grab his leash and he's ready to go.  He can climb to the top of the highest mountain (just check out his pictures!)   He is always ready to snuggle and give you kisses too!  He gets along with other dogs.  He loves to play tug or he's content to just toss his toys around all by himself!  At only 35 pounds he's a great size to take anywhere.  Flynn would love a house with a fenced yard since he does love to chase things.  He could also be in an apartment, condo or townhome as long as he got in several walks and playtime each and every day! He sleeps through the night and is house broken and crate trained. He has not been kid or cat tested yet but he should be fine with kids.  He does love chasing squirrels and other wildlife, so it's our guess he would chase cats in the home, so may not be the perfect fit for him unless the family, home, and cat are very dog savvy.  He does love to play with other dogs but could possibly be an only dog if his new family were home more often and are active with him.   (DOB 10/13/2021)  As part of Flynn's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Flynn, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

(DOB 04/03/2022)  Due to Groucho Marx's young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Groucho is nothing like his name and is all love and sweetness! He enjoys snuggling with his head on your shoulder when he is isn’t running his puppy energy off! He is the biggest of the litter and has a heart to match his size!   He loves car rides and going on rides in his doggie crate.  He is a happy fellow and a road trip fan.  While you are out and about and going to new places and meeting new people Groucho says bring it on; he loves everyone he meets and doesn't know what a stranger is!! Since he is young and playful, we will require another dog in the home that can match his energy level and help him continue to build his proper dog socialization skills.  Puppies love other dogs to learn from.  In addition to his fur sibling(s), puppies learn quickly at this young age, so a family that will continue to work on Groucho's house manners and basic obdience training is important.  Puppies find learning new things like a its a great, fun game so take advantage of this at an early age.  Remember puppyhood takes a commitment and lots of patience and lots of love! Though we aren't requiring a fence for Groucho Marx, it would probably be best for him and his furry friends to run around a play and burn off energy. He is pretty lazy considering he is a puppy, so a home without a fence is not a deal breaker if his family is truly committed to lots of fun, play, training and lots of walks daily.  He loves belly rubs while laying on the sofa with you.  He does love all kinds of toys so stock up that toy chest for this handsome fellow! Since he is very young, children in the home should be no less than 8 years old.  Puppies have very sharp, razor teeth and put everthing in their mouths - including little ones toes and fingers.  Since he is a young puppy, introducing those "other furries called kitties" can work at his age.  So a family that has a dog savvy cat, should be fine. At his young age, he is not house trained yet, and it will be something his potential adopter will need to be prepared to work with him on and know he will need boundaries, routine and lots of outdoor positive potty breaks.  He is already crate trained so check that box. He sleeps through the night in his crate. He is learning what a leash is and learning how to walk "nicely" on a leash; however, at his age, he will need continued positive reinforcement loose leash walking training. As part of Groucho Marx's $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Groucho Marx, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

(DOB 04/03/2022)  Due to Gypsy Rose Lee's young age, she has not yet been spayed.  For this reason, we are ONLY considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Gypsy Rose is a funny, sweet, entertaining and energetic little lady. She loves being outside, running, chewing on sticks or chasing her older siblings or playing with her litter mates.  We will REQUIRE another dog in the home that can match her puppy energy as well as continue to build proper doggie socialization skills.  She is growing up with cats but will chase them since she thinks they want to play, so a dog savvy cat family would be fine. Like all puppies it is time for teething and learning bite inhibition.  Because of that, a family with older children will be ok but no little ones.  Gypsy still nips and chews on everything and that would include small childrens fingers, toes, etc.  To keep her busy doing "the right things" her new family should commit to walking Gyspy regularly on a leash so she will learn proper leash manners.  In addition, lots of play time with all kinds of different toys, tug of war, and teething toys will be needed to keep her mind and body active. Gypsy Rose is looking for a family/person who understands puppyhood is work and she needs lots of love and will be patient with her as she grows and learns.  She is constantly learning and will require gentle, positive reinforcement training and correction as she grows into a young adult.  At her age, she is not yet housebroken and that will be something her new family will need to continue to work to ensure lots of outdoor potty breaks throughout the day.  She is are adorable, smart and has a lot of energy. Gypsy does sleep in her playpen or crate with her siblings and is a good little napper after some rough housing and romping in the yard.  A solid fenced yard to run and play is preferred for this little cutie and it should be 4-5ft tall minimum height without gaps.  If no fence, her new peeps will need to ensure 4-5 daily outings for walks, play and running around.  Gypsy Rose could be in an apartment, condo or townhome with the right family. As part of Gypsy Rose Lee's $275 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Gypsy Rose Lee, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

This is a big boy with an equally big smile!  He loves being with his people and spending some good quality time couch chillin'.  He is quite couch potato and happy to just chill out and watch TV, read a book, or take a nice nap with you.  Harley has a very good personality, he loves attention then is good to hang out on the sofa or dog bed. He makes a great partner. He is house trained as long as his family takes him out regularly. He isn't really crate trained...just FYI on that but he doesn't really need to be crated.  He will hang out in the living room with his foster brother and is a well behaved.  He has good leash manners and walks easily without pulling you around.  He also loves car rides and going for a road trip, so pack him up with you and GO!  He does have a bit of separtion anxiety so having a happy home with people who either work from home, and/or are home more often than not, is the kind of family Harley is looking for. He is good in the car so instead of leaving him at home...take him with you. He will be the star of any place you go. Harley is a sweet boy with a great big smile.  He has started to chase his foster kittie some in a playful way. We haven't had an opportunity to have Harley meet the wee-ones since he is new to our rescue so we are unsure about the kiddos at this time.  Harley definitely wants another friendly dog friend in the home, so make sure you have another dog friend for him!  His confidence is better and he is happier with a furry sibling to hang out with each day.  He loves everyone he has meet. This handsome with the cutest little nub of a tail and his whole hind end wiggles when he is happy!  He does NOT require a fence because he is happy to hang out inside with you.  He could be a good apartment, condo or townhome pup as long as his family took him out a several times a day for a good walk and potty breaks.  Harley's DOB is 06/01/2013, and he is a 67lb. male, Lab/Hound mix. As part of Harley's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
