She is the QUEEN... you live in her kingdom... you will do her bidding and abide by her rules!  She will give you all of the love she has and she really enjoys spending time with her people - ONCE SHE GETS TO KNOW YOU!  More often than not, if you are sitting or lying down she will be close by, preferably using you as a pillow.   Laps really do make nice, warm, cozy napping spots. She is the Queen after all... and wants to be treated as such. She is a playful girl.  She still acts like a kitten when it comes to playing and small toys she can swat around seem to be her favorites. When not playing, she enjoys lounging at the top of her cat tree so she can see everything.  She likes to survey her surroundings and see what is going on. So, really, the best of both worlds = playful and chill!   She needs to make sure everything is as it should be in her little kingdom!   Abby needs to be the only cat in the home--she does not get along with dogs or other cats.  She, and she alone, is QUEEN OF THE CASTLE!   She will be a wonderful companion to the person who will commit to loving her and accept her terms. She does well with adults and should be okay with older children who understand to take things on Abby's time.  A little patience goes a long way with her - she may be a bit shy and timid at the first meeting - but once she gets to know you she will be "all in"!  Until she gets to know you and trusts you... she will be standoffish and likely give you the eye.  If you move too fast for her comfort, she will swat at your hand.  Remember... her kingdom, her rules. Abby is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all shots. For more information and to fill out an application, go to www.pawsforlifenc.org. Foster to adopt option is available. show less

Aspen is a happy and good-natured pup with a beautiful smile. She has the cutest ears that often go in two different directions - one up and one out.  She also has the silkiest, black, shiny coat that sparkles in the sunlight and her golden-brown eyes will "pop" with just the right lighting—makes for very striking good looks.    She is affectionate and gentle, enjoying attention from people of all ages, including children.  She loves attention and getting a daily dose of scratches, pets and belly rubs.  When hanging out with humans, she prefers to be near them but not necessarily on them. She loves relaxing on her dog bed next to her people playing with her favorite toys while her people watch TV.    She also enjoys going on long walks and using her nose to explore. Her ideal family would encourage her to engage in daily nose work and take her on daily strolls. She is good on a leash but will pull if she sees something exciting like a bunny, cat or squirrel scurry by.  She is completely content being left alone as long as she has these daily mental and physical outlets.    Aspen is perfectly fine being the only dog in the household but doesn’t need to be.  She can be choosy about her doggie friends though, so good/slow introductions are key for her to adjust to different energy levels and personalities.     DOB 06/01/2019, Lab mix. As part of Aspen's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Aspen, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Are you looking for a sweet, special, and unique pup to share your love with? Then Baby Girl may be the one you have been lookin' for!! Baby girl is full of love, and she wants to be the only fur love in your life. She is blind which makes her so special, and it's pretty remarkable to see her enhanced and heightened sense of smell!  After a short adjustment period, it is easy for her to get around or follow you once she is aware of her surroundings. She puts her noise in the air to figure things out, and we can't tell you how adorable it is! This girl’s perfect home would be with loving and patient pet parents (with no young children) that are excited to help her navigate through life! She is VERY LOW MAINTENANCE! If you have a couch for her to lounge on, toys for her to play with, and are liberal with your belly rubs, she will be happy as a clam. She loves loves loves people. If you baby talk her when you are approaching she gets so excited and will greet you with enthusiastic tail wags and hugs. She does okay in the same vicinity as dogs, but is looking for a home where she can be the only fur baby and get all of the love. Because of her blindness she gets spooked if dogs sneak up on her. This girl is: House trained Crate trained though she doesn’t need it Leash trained, though only takes short walks Loves people Loves toys Loves to give and receive affection Is adorable Baby Girl does not need a fence so no worries if you don't have a fenced in yard. She would rather be on the sofa hanging out with you so even an apartment, condo or townhome would work for this lovely lady! She needs her forever home and someone who thinks her blindness is a bonus; understands her inability to see and how she compensates for that is unique and special! Baby Girl is truly a great dog!! If you are that special kind of person that loves her more in spite of being a little bit different, then she is ready to hear all about you! (DOB 7/25/2020) As part of Baby Girl’s $150 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions bout this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Baby Girl, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Interview with CASPER!   Where did you get those beautiful blue eyes?  Don’t know. I don’t remember my mommy and daddy left town before I was born. Maybe one of them had blue eyes?  Everybody remarks what a handsome, striking boy I am now! I have to agree!  Anyway, I’m fully grown now and am 52 pounds of gorgeous sweetness.  What happened to your tail? Oh that. My tail was long and big and I kept hitting it on things ‘cause I was so happy! It was bleeding, so my vet recommended a shorter look so it would heal. Kinda cute, don’t you think? Squeaky or bouncy – what do you look for in a toy? Both! I love big, bouncy tennis balls that squeak when I bite on them. Foster mommy tries to throw them away, and I have to keep finding and bringing them back to her. I think she enjoys that, and I love to make foster mommy happy. She says I’m really smart and “catch on quick”, whatever that means. It’s Friday night. What are your plans? Eat. Snuggle with foster mommy on the couch. Eat. What would be a perfect day for you? Eat. Run around in backyard. Play ball – love to fetch and chase my tether ball! Bark at the cats and do some chasing. (Foster Mommy has had to keep me away from her cats – they are so fun to chase and scare!) Eat. Go for a walk. Eat. Go for a ride. Eat. Cozy up to foster mommy for kisses, tummy rubs and snuggles, then go off to sleep with her on the couch. Eat. What are you looking for in a forever family? I’m looking for someone who has experience with my kind and will have the time to spend teaching me to be a good dog. I am young and am still learning. My foster mommy has been teaching me some important skills and that needs to continue, like more leash training. I’m also looking for a home without any small animals ‘cause I like to chase them. I’m an energetic boy so may knock little humans down, so no small humans, please, although I like them and love to kiss on them. (I love to kiss on my humans, so they have to tolerate a lot of affection!) I do talk a lot, especially when my meals are being prepared or if I see or hear anything or anybody out of the ordinary in our yard. (I’m an excellent watch dog.) So, a house with a fenced yard would be best; certainly, no apartment or condo living for me and no dog parks! I need some safe space of my own to run and zoom in. I prefer to be the only dog – I don’t really get along with other dogs well yet. I’m a work in progress and longing for a forever family who will love me and help me be my best self – and who has good food ‘cause I love to eat, just in case I didn’t mention that before. DOB 01/07/2022, male Hound/Husky mix.  Of importance, too, he has no signs of being deaf, which can be genetically present in white dogs with blue eyes. Casper is adorable and weighing in at around 48 pounds. As part of Casper's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Casper, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

(DOB 2/2/2023). Meet Chubs, the adorable and charming white male shepsky puppy with a sparkling personality that will win your heart in seconds. His stunning white fur is complemented by a golden brown hue dusting his back, making him truly unique and eye-catching.   Chubs is a ball of energy and loves nothing more than roughhousing with his siblings, showing off his playful side. He's also a little love bug who enjoys nothing more than cuddling up to humans and giving lots of puppy kisses. With Chubs around, there's never a dull moment - get ready for lots of puppy breath and unconditional luv.   Chubs is going to need a family who's ready to be by his side most of the time - he's looking for a family who works from home or has a flexible schedule, so he never has to spend too much time alone. He also needs a furry companion to share his adventures with, so a home with another dog is the home for him   He's a fast learner and already knows how to sit and is crate tolerant. Chubs enjoys learning new things, so the more you teach him, the more fun he'll have. To ensure he remains happy and healthy, he needs lots of playtime and exercise, preferably in a fenced yard. If a fenced yard isn't possible, his new family must be ready to keep him busy with scheduled positive reinforcement training and plenty of leash walks.    Chubs is a fantastic addition to any family searching for a furry friend who is full of life and bound to bring endless joy and laughter into their lives.   As part of Chubs’ $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.   If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Chubs, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Calling all HOUND LOVERS! If you know, love, and adore all the special traits of a hound, Clarence is ready to meet you!  He loves to be cuddled and kissed, so someone that will hold him and give him lots-o-love is the match we are looking for!  He likes to sleep in bed with us, so be sure you can make room for him!   He also has those traditional hound personality traits which means, he's sensitive and kind but has a little bit of a stubborn streak which is endearing. You know if they get something on their minds, or better yet, in their nose - they just might ignore you just a "little bit."    Clarence is doing well on his leash training and enjoys his daily outings. He has pretty much got the hang of run, walk, jog and different speeds and does a good job keeping the right pace.  He could make a great compainion for your exercise routine. This boy has a lot of young pup energy, and he pretty much can play all day.  He would be happy with a fun, furry, playful sibling or could be just as happy as an only dog as long his family spends lots of time burning off his energy.  He is definitely looking for an active family as he isn't quite ready to be the couch potato, yet!  On the flip side, when working during the day he normally just lay's right next to me. He's such a GREAT companion and what a WONDERFUL personality!   He seems to get super excited with our neighbors that has a son that is 2 years old; Clarence will run to the fence when he sees them and loves to get petted through the fence.  Our neighbors have free roaming chickens, and we have a lot of deer around as well. While Clarence gets a bit excited when he sees them, just telling him 'No' Clarence seems to be easily re-directed. He also lives with several cats; so we think he would be ok with dog savvy kitties.   Clarence is doing well with house training.  He goes potty immediately in the morning and before bed.  We let him out several times a day to "do his business." Even though he is in a fenced yard, we stay out with him; he loves our company!  Clarence is working on basic training and confidence.  Right now he is still crated if no one is home or else he can get into a little mischief.  He is smart and has learned how to get out said crate.  We think he just doesn't love being left a lone so a home that has some family members home the majority of the time is probably the best be for cute Clarence. He does need some training and would need someone that would be able to provide this for him.   Clarence isn't shy about dashing to the door, so a secure home where kids are not coming and going all the time and parents know to be watchful and careful before opening doors, etc. is important.  He wants a fenced yard ~4-5ft tall so he can play all day!  He really needs time to run around off leash and just be a young, playful pup.  It makes him so happy, and it will absolutely brighten your day watching him have the time of his life!   To wrap it up, we love him so much, so for us we want him to go to a home where he can have the same love and care that we provide to him!! He is a very special boy!   (DOB 7/25/2021) As part of Clarence’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Clarence, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Cookie wants a fenced (4ft+) yard in her new home; she loves being outside. She uses a doggie door at her forster mom's house and loves being able to go in and out. She is friendly new people and friends that have come around. She also loves car rides and going places. So if you want a road trip companion, she would be a great choice. Meet Dakoda, the bundle of energy and joy that will have you smiling from ear to ear! This adorable little guy lives up to his name as he dashes and explores every inch of the yard. Dakoda is a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs, kids, and even cats! Though he may be curious about those fascinating feline friends, he hasn't chased them, instead opting to keep a watchful eye on them out of sheer curiosity. Shy around strangers at first, Dakoda quickly warms up with a little love and affection, eager to make new friends and create everlasting bonds. This sweetheart aims to please and possesses the most soulful and sweet eyes that can melt anyone's heart. When it's time for bed, he loves nothing more than to snuggle up as close as possible. Whether it's on the couch, in a chair, or even sharing a sleeping space, Dakoda yearns for that closeness and loves being near his devoted humans. You'll rarely find a dog more enthusiastic about car rides than Dakoda! He wants to be right there with his beloved people, sharing in the adventure.   When it comes to playtime, Dakoda is in his element! He adores chew toys and tennis balls, channeling his energy into playful romps and joyful games. Having a fenced yard is highly recommended, as Dakoda thrives on the freedom to run and play. Another playful pup is a must and children to enjoy the yard with would be an absolute dream for him. However, in the absence of a fenced yard, Dakoda's parents would simply need to ensure he gets plenty of outdoor time and exercise for his daily energy burn. Dakoda is house trained, leashed trained and crate trained.  He doesn’t like being crated, so he would do best in a stay-at-home or work-from-home family. So why wait? Adopt Dakoda, the four-legged ball of energy and love that will bring endless joy and adventure to your life. Prepare to fall head over heels for this little charmer who will light up your world like no other! DOB 05/22/2022. Bulldog mix. Would your laid back dog like a new furry sibling? Damon would love a home with another dog to romp around in the house or fenced yard. A fence isn't required as long as he gets daily play time and walks. He is great on a leash.    Damon loves to learn new tricks; treats definitely help the motivation. So far he has learned "sit" and "house" (crate) and we are working on "wait" and "lay down." We believe Damon is just super smart and the longer it takes the MORE treats he gets! He is likely saying, "I am smarter than you think I am" the entire time!! Damon would love a nice comfy, fluffy bed because he loves to nap as much as he loves to play. He can be quite the couch potato and enjoys chillin' out while you work, watch TV, or read a book. He is quite the velcro dog in a lot of ways; loves to be with his people; getting love, attention and belly rubs! He really isn't a huge fan of being left alone, so a family that has school or work from home, retired, or a pretty flexible home schedule will be the best fit for snuggle boy Damon. Plus, he loves the car so if you are packing up and can take him with you, double bonus!! He can also be a "sous chef" in the kitchen. If you are cooking, he won't hesitate to be as "helpful" as he can possible be; don't turn your back because he is happy to be a "taste tester"! He gets a long nicely with all the doggies he has met and even does ok with the kitties! Stranger isn't a word Damon understands as he has been friendly with everyone he has met. Damon has not had an opportunity to meet young children yet.   He shares his toys well but can also be know for hogging them up.  Maybe he didn't have a lot of toys in his previous life and is just so happy to have so many options, soft, squeaky, tug-o-war, etc. He loves to take the soft toys and tear them apart. It's a fun and playful "how fast can I get this done" kind of a thing. Pretty sure he is smiling the whole time!   (DOB 07/30/2021) As part of Damon's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He will make a such a great companion.   He could like be in an only dog or would love to have some playful doggie friends in his fur-ever home! If you don't have another playful pup for him to romp and roll with, make sure you have time to have several play sessions a day. He likes toys to squeak, chew, a play tug and fetch with (no promises he will bring it right back, though).   He gets very excited when he sees new dogs and people so expect him to be "talking a lot" to get everyone's attention.  We are working on this but it's just hard for him to contian his happiness. Are you ready to meet Dodger? Meet Everest, a happy, bubbly Pomeranian mix that radiates with love.  His spirit shines through with a bounce in his step, a  bright smile and a wagging tail.   He is a tripod doggie (only 3 legs), but that doesn't slow him down one little bit. Stairs, walks, and outdoor adventures are no challenge for him.  He loves spending time outdoors, exploring the world around him. He's fairly good on a leash, but he can be a bit enthusiastic during walks, which only adds to his charm.  Everest is a friendly companion, getting along well with both cats and dogs, but his true joy lies in the company of his humans. He's a devoted snuggler who craves your affection and would happily spend all day being held, if he could.  He is mostly potty trained, though patience and understanding will be needed as he occasionally has accidents.  He isn't a fan of crates.  The ideal adopter for Everest would be someone without young children in the home and who can be with him most of the time.  He's happiest when he's sleeping beside you on the bed and having free reign of the house, as he truly just wants to be by your side at all times. A secure, fenced-in backyard would be a bonus since he enjoys a bit of exploration.  Everest is a sweet, gentle soul who deserves a loving home where he can enjoy the life he so richly deserves. If you're ready to welcome this loving companion into your life, Everest is waiting for you with open paws. Give him the chance to be your loyal, cuddly friend.   As part of Everest’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Everest, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Grayson may not win a frisbee award, but he’ll win first-place in snuggling every time! If going for a long, peaceful walk and then kicking back and relaxing at home is your idea of a great way to spend time, Grayson is your guy. He’s the perfect combination of playfully, and after a good walk ,some mild play in the back yard, he’s ready to lay on the couch and be with his humans. Grayson is a gentle, extremely sweet bulldog mix who is a little on the shy side but warms up quickly. He’s a very gentle dog who listens well and learns quickly, especially if treats are involved. His greatest joy is to just be near his human, leaning into your legs when sitting on the floor next to you or sitting on the couch. Grayson needs his forever human to spoil him!   He is relatively new to his foster home but so far, he has been good with children, dogs, and cats. He can be a little scared and skittish when it’s really noisy or too many people are jumping or running around, so would probably do best in a home with older children who are dog experienced (only because of his size otherwise is just a big love bug!). He has taken some adventures like going to a soccer game and would love to continue his adventures with a loving family!  He loves playing with other dogs and gets along great with all sizes of dogs.    He is also shy in new situations and needs a calm, gentle human to be with him and help guide him through new things as he develops more confidence. He needs someone who is dog experienced to ensure his safety and ongoing development to become confident and well-trained. He walks great on a leash, is learning to sit and come when called, and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He is house-trained.   Grayson had a bit of a hard start in life and is just learning how it is to be safe and have enough food. He does resource guards his food with other dogs, so we just feed seperately and everything is fine.  He is not with humans.    If your looking for a dog to add to your family, Grayson checks a lot of great boxes; kid friendly, cat & dog friendly, too. Well behaved and still playful but loves to snuggle. He has beautiful brindle markings that sparkle in the sun. He is ready to begin sharing his love with you!!   (DOB 06/17/2022) As part of Grayson's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Grayson, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Gypsy loves a daily dose of shenanigans. She loves wallowing in the water like a happy, little hippo. She also loves chasing a laser light around. It's fun to watch her chase it around!   Gypsy sometimes has spurts of energy, but she can also be the perfect couch potato to cuddle and watch movies with you! She is so much fun to be around. She loves being outside, running, and chasing her foster siblings.   She has adorable head turns and will certainly make many heads turn as you walk this beauty down the street! Gypsy would thrive most in a home with another dog to play with and to continue to learn socialization skills. She has grown up with cats but will chase them since she thinks they want to play, so a dog-savvy cat family would be fine.    Gypsy loves to play fetch and tug. She also loves to settle down and chew on a bone.     She is constantly learning and will require gentle, positive reinforcement training and correction as she grows into a young adult. Gypsy is very smart and learns quickly what is expected of her. She loves to make her people happy, but sometimes needs redirection. Like any young adolescent dog, she sometimes needs reminding of her boundaries. Gypsy is working on simple commands. She knows “sit,” “wait,” and “leave it.” She is working on recall and “stay.” She is a smart girl.   Gypsy is crate trained. She takes her meals and sleeps in her crate at night. A solid fenced yard to run and play is preferred for this little cutie and it should be 4-5ft tall minimum height without gaps. If no fence is available, her new family will need to ensure 4-5 daily outings for walks, play and running around. Gypsy Rose may not be the perfect apartment dog, as she loves to voice her opinion. She has a beautiful bark and knows it very well!   DOB 04/03/2022  As part of Gypsy Rose Lee's $275 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.   Iris has the best houndy-ears; they are soft, velvety and silky smooth. They are super cute because they pretty much go in every direction and can kinda do a helicopter thing.  They sparkle in the sun and flop around when she bounces and plays. She also has cute little white socks on her toes, so when she is prancing around it's like an old-school sock hop.   This little sweetheart loves to keeps the fun rolling by chewing and tossing her toys like a pro. With Iris by your side, each day is guaranteed to be filled with happiness and laughter. And when she's all tuckered out, get ready for some serious snuggle sessions!   Iris is a social butterfly who adores everyone she meets. She's already working on perfecting her leash manners, but as a puppy, she'll need ongoing practice to grow into a well-behaved doggo. So take her out for walks, run errands together, and watch as she captures the hearts of both friends and strangers. But wait, there's more! Iris absolutely craves the company of another four-legged friend, as playing without a furry playmate would leave her feeling lonely and bored. So do you have another playful dog that is just dying for another furry-friend, then Iris may be the girl for you!   This sweet little girl aims to please her humans and is incredibly intelligent. She easily follows the lead of the other dogs and is always eager to learn. Iris is a playful ball of energy, but also holds a bit of a submissive side. She's on the hunt for a loving and nurturing family who understands that training a puppy takes patience and time. As long as you break the lessons into short, fun intervals, Iris is all ears! And did we mention she's food-motivated? That means positive reinforcement training will be a breeze. A fenced yard is exactly what Iris desires, giving her the space to play and explore to her heart's content before coming in for a well-deserved nap in her cozy crate. So with toys and treats, Iris is ready to put her little listening ears on and begin her early "childhood education!!"   As part of Iris’s $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.   If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Iris, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

I got a new foster hound girl! We have 4 personal dogs already; 3 boys and 1 girl. I didn’t know what to call this cute, quirky addition to our pack…so I just started referring to her as “The New Girl.”    That got me thinking about the show by the same name. It stars Zooey Deschanel as the main character Jess. The premise of the show is that Jess is a little offbeat and “adorkable” but she had a bad breakup with her ex and she has moved into an apartment with three guys, where hilarity ensues. Her friends do their best to hook her up with a new love interest.    The parallel references are uncanny: 1. offbeat and “adorkable”… tell me that doesn’t sound like EVERY SINGLE HOUND you’ve ever met!; 2. bad break-up with her ex…I truly believe that this sweet girl’s “owner” used her for breeding and then dumped her; 3. moves in with three guys…yes, the Duncan casa has three men (Manny, Shorty and Mr. Bean) - plus the old Millie girl; 4. hilarity ensues…well duh! Doesn’t it always when you have a house full of knucklehead furbabies!; 5. Her friends…me, you, and all our rescue volunteers; and finally 6. hook her up with a new love interest…we will find her the VERY BEST FOREVER HOME!    Now on to some other fun facts about Jess.  She is definitely a diamond in the rough and with the right polishing (and patience) she will be a glorious jem!  She has all of the amazing and silly typical hound personality traits!  She can be chatty and is sometimes loud and silly when playing. So an apartment, condo or townhome probably not the best fit.  Plus, Jess really wants and needs a 6ft fenced yard to run and play with her furry siblings!  She has some hops so even when outside in her fenced yard, she and her friends should have a "chaperone." Don't let this little escape artist fool you!   Jess needs an active family with an equally active brother/sister dog, so she has someone to play around and goof off with!  Her new family will need to continue to work on training and be able to plan "boredom buster" activities to give her fun things to chew on and keep her busy.  Jess loves, loves, loves chewing on things so to avoid her chewing on things you don't want (i.e. your table legs) make sure to give her appropriate chew toys, bones, bully sticks, etc. Jess is crate trained and potty trained so no worries there. She is happy to sleep in her crate or on the sofa cuddled up with her foster siblings.   Jess has not been cat tested and hasn't had the opportunity to meet any kitties yet. We don't THINK she would hurt a cat, but would definitely give chase!  A home with dog-savvy kitties and places that are "kittie spaces" we think will be ok. If her new family has kids, they should be older and enjoy the attention of a lively pup. Jess would easily accidently knock down littlies with her happy enery.   If you are looking for fun, then look no further than Jess. She will have you laughing and smiling each and every day with her houndy-endless-lust-for-life!  There is no such thing as a bad day with Jess.  She takes the ordinary and makes it extrodinary with her antics.  If she isn't getting into some kind of "trouble" she's probably asleep. If you are energic, joyful, cheerful, and have a ZEST for life and adventure, then you must meet Jess. She is truly all about love and laughter.    DOB(9/14/2018) As part of Jess’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Jess, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Kesha will jump right in the car to go with you, so pack her up and take her! She is a road trip fanatic and would love to go with you when you head out and about. If you have a passenger in the back, she may even try and snuggle up on your lap some! Plus, once you get to your destination, Kesha will be the hit of anyone you meet. She loves other dogs and people; the word stranger means absolutely nothing to her. She thinks everyone wants to be her bestie!   She has a lot of happy, young pup energy and wants a good 5ft+ fenced in yard to run around safely. In that yard, Kesha wants at least one playful furry dog friend to run, romp, and roll around with. This will help her burn of her energy. She also wants to get out each day for leash walking as well; she needs practice and consistency is important. Everyone wants a dog that behaves nicely on leash so when you go to activities, dinner, the vet, Kesha knows basic commands and how to properly behave. Plus, she is doing well with crate training and is already potty trained! WIN!    Make sure you have time each day to spend playing with Kesha and then have some good ole snuggle time! She such a sweetheart and will be happy to share her boundless amount of love with you. Your day will begin and end with smiles, tail wags, and sweetness if you adopt Kesha! Don't you want to meet her??   (DOB 12/06/2021) As part of Kesha $300 adoption fee she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
