In order to support you in caring for your new fur kid, the following items are provided: A harness, a lead, a bed, blankets(for Chihuahuas), a small bag of dog food, treats, toys, and two months of flea and heart preventative. Complete medicals have been performed on all fur kids, including but not limited to spay/neuter, vaccines, microchips, bloodwork, and dentals(if needed). All records are provided at the time of adoption. Adoption fees can be paid by a bank or personal check, paypal, or cash. Adoption donations, are without exception, non-refundable. If your current or previous pets are not altered or have not been kept up- to- date on shots, heartworm prevention and well-care, this application will be discarded. We need to know as much about you as possible before we consider approving or denying your application. The information you provide on our application will help us determine the best possible match for you, as well as for the dog. Please answer all of the questions honestly, as there are no right or wrong answers. Canine Estates relies on your donations to care for all of the homeless dogs in our care. The adoption fee is considered a donation and helps defray the costs of veterinary care given to your dog prior to adoption, as listed above. Your adoption donation also helps to feed, house, and provide veterinary care for all of the dogs still in our care, and is NON- REFUNDABLE. We do not sell dogs, we rescue them, you are not buying a dog, you are making a donation. Out- of- state adoptions are acceptable with approval, but we do not ship our companion dogs and adopting families must come to Canine Estates to complete the adoption. Sorry, no exceptions.

Our very own 10 year old, 13lb, blond wire-haired dachshund mix Mick is a sweet happy boy who has been through an incredible transformation since joining the Canine Estates family two months ago. He came to us as a stray, emaciated and unable to eat properly due to his severe dental disease. His skin and ears were so infected and raw that he was mostly bald, and his eyes were nearly glued shut. If all that wasn't enough, his bloodwork showed age-related kidney disease. Now we are two months down his road of recovery, and he is a different dog! His skin, coat, and eyes look absolutely wonderful! Though he is still taking weekly baths and some medication, he nearly done and 100% better. He eats happily after his dental with extractions, and has gained a good 3 pounds! His kidney disease is age-related and progressive, but stable and manageable with a good vet relationship and proper diet. Due to his kidney disease, he will drink a lot and has some incontinence issues which will easily be managed with the use of belly bands and diapers. Through all his obstacles in life, Mick has been a sweet, loving dog from day one, equally willing to amble along on an easy walk or cuddle up with his favorite humans. He gets along with other dogs, and would likely be fine with cats and respectful children as well. Mick is ready to win his way into his forever home, and we think his new family will be the real winners with this sweet boy! Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. If you have any questions, email director@canineestates.com or call 727-412-0558 show less

3 year old Papa Bear is one of our special boys, and he's just so handsome! Short and stocky at 40lbs, he is a corgi golden retriever mix with a thick golden coat and a perfect white blaze on his face. He is vocal when happy, cuddles like a pro, loves toys, and gives the best kisses. He has some behavioral challenges that we are confident he can overcome with the right guidance, but for this reason we will only approve applicants who are experienced with difficult dogs and who will agree to professional behavioral training. We also require a home with a fenced yard, and one without children. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to these requirements. Papa Bear gets along with some dogs and not others, and has shown some resource guarding of toys, food, and people. We have not tested him with cats. With people he is very wiggly, happy, and sweet 95% of the time, but will challenge and snap at his humans when he doesn't want to follow directions. He also has some car ride and leash issues that he has been working on. He will need to be sedated for vet trips and bathing, although he has learned to accept being brushed recently.  We know the right home is out there for Papa Bear, and we are confident someone will see the good boy he is and help him become a once in a lifetime dog in his forever home. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. If you have any questions, email jessica.canineestates@gmail.com or call 908-305-9155 show less
