In order to support you in caring for your new fur kid, the following items are provided: A harness, a lead, a bed, blankets(for Chihuahuas), a small bag of dog food, treats, toys, and two months of flea and heart preventative. Complete medicals have been performed on all fur kids, including but not limited to spay/neuter, vaccines, microchips, bloodwork, and dentals(if needed). All records are provided at the time of adoption. Adoption fees can be paid by a bank or personal check, paypal, or cash. Adoption donations, are without exception, non-refundable. Please answer all of the questions honestly, as there are no right or wrong answers. Canine Estates relies on your donations to care for all of the homeless dogs in our care. The adoption fee is considered a donation and helps defray the costs of veterinary care given to your dog prior to adoption, as listed above. Your adoption donation also helps to feed, house, and provide veterinary care for all of the dogs still in our care, and is NON- REFUNDABLE. We do not sell dogs, we rescue them, you are not buying a dog, you are making a donation. Out- of- state adoptions are acceptable with approval, but we do not ship our companion dogs and adopting families must come to Canine Estates to complete the adoption. Sorry, no exceptions.

Felix is looking for a happy retirement! Felix is a 13 year old terrier mix boy. He has been with us almost a year and is finally ready for our adoption page! Felix has battled some pretty severe skin issues since coming to join Canine Estates, and has turned a new leaf in his treatment. His skin is no longer inflamed and irritated, his fur has grown back nicely, and he no longer needs a list of medications to keep him happy. That is not to say he won't need some diligent maintenance to keep his allergies in check, so we are listing him as special needs. He will need regular checks with the vet to ensure his health. He is on a hypoallergenic diet and monthly cytopoint injections, as well as medicated baths 3 times a week and some topical ointments in case of flare up. He needs daily baby wipes to his feet and face whenever he comes in from the outside. He also has dry eye and needs lubricant drops daily. Felix is a sweet old man who loves to snuggle and sleep most of the day, but also enjoys his time in the sun. His favorite time is meal time, and he will let you know it with some demanding barks! When he's not hungry, he's quiet as a mouse and loves to nap his days away. He would be fine with all cats, kids, and mellow dogs. He is such a sweet senior that truly deserves a nice quiet loving home for his golden years. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. Update 3/20/2021: Unfortunately, Papa Bear has been returned to us after a month in a new home. We will only be accepting applications from someone very experienced with dog behavioral problems and/or a professional trainer. 5 year old Papa Bear is one of our special boys, and he's just so handsome! Short and stocky at 40lbs, he is a corgi golden retriever mix with a thick golden coat and a perfect white blaze on his face. He is vocal when happy, cuddles like a pro, loves toys, and gives the best kisses. He has some behavioral challenges that we are confident he can overcome with the right guidance, but for this reason we will only approve applicants who are experienced with difficult dogs and who will agree to professional behavioral training. We also require a home with a fenced yard, and one without children. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to these requirements. Papa Bear gets along with some dogs and not others, and has shown some resource guarding of toys, food, and people. We have not tested him with cats. With people he is very wiggly, happy, and sweet 95% of the time, but will challenge and snap at his humans when he doesn't want to follow directions. He also has some car ride and leash issues that he has been working on. He will need to be sedated for vet trips and bathing, although he has learned to accept being brushed recently.  We know the right home is out there for Papa Bear, and we are confident someone will see the good boy he is and help him become a once in a lifetime dog in his forever home. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. If you have any questions, email jessica.canineestates@gmail.com or call 908-305-9155 show less

Welcome Rubie! This darling chihuahua girl is about 5 years old and 8lbs, has medium length blond and white fur, and just the sweetest face. Rubie is very healthy and up to date with all vaccines, microchipped, and has had recent bloodwork. She does have some moderate anxiety and has developed some bad habits over the years including excessive barking at strangers, crying for her people when she can't reach them, inappropriately begging to be picked up, and crying in her crate. She also does need consistent work with retraining to potty outside, and she is not used to being on a leash. Most of her issues are do to the lack of structure in her previous home, so she will need some positively reinforced training and help to make her the best dog she can be. She is somewhat a spoiled princess and will need some good leadership and confidence building for her to thrive! Please do not apply if you do not have the time to devote to her training. Rubie has lived with both children and cats in the past, and she is timid but tolerant of other dogs as well. Please understand that she will need consistent work in an active home and will require a lot of time. We will give preference to experienced homes andactive young owners that are not gone for long hours, as well as homes with fenced yards and resources to help her thrive. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. If you have any questions, email director@canineestates.com or call 727-412-0558 show less
