Little Brandy is here and looking for a patient, quiet home she can thrive in! She is a chihuahua mix or similar, estimated 4-5 years old and 13lbs, with with a soft blond coat and the tiniest little paws. Brandy came to us from another rescue in Puerto Rico after her foster mom was tragically killed, and not much is known about her life prior. She is very timid and unsocialized, but has started to come around and shows us how sweet she is daily. She will wiggle and wag just out of reach, and loves giving gentle timid kisses to the patient person who gives her enough space and time to approach. Brandy is slightly overweight and loves her food for sure! She is VERY food motivated and the way to her heart is certainly her belly. She is still learning that she is safe and able to be a dog, and will take a lot of time to adjust to a new home. She needs ground up leash training, socialization, and potty training, though she is smart and the only thing holding her back is confidence. We will *require* her adopter to have a secure fenced yard and experience, patience, and lots of love to give her. Another dog in the home is a definite plus. Brandy is heartworm positive and is available as a foster-to-adopt through her treatment, which will be completed in mid- December. Once heartworm negative, she will be officially adopted by her lucky foster family. Canine Estates will pay for all heartworm treatment and other medical through the foster period, and her future owners will be responsible for bringing her to and from our vet in Tarpon Springs monthly until December. Due to the location of our vet, we do require future adopters to be local to Pinellas or Pasco County. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. Elvis was ready to leave the building at Pinellas County Animal Services with a hefty vet tab in tow. Luckily, we swept him away from that heartbreak hotel and got him exactly the care he needed. Elvis is a 10 year old Jack Russel mix at about 12 pounds. He had significant dental disease, bladder stones, and a growth that needed to be taken care of as soon as he arrived in our care. He did have a growth that caused some suspicious minds, but pending pathology reports will hopefully give him clean bill of health.  Elvis has only been in our care for a short week, meaning his personality has yet to completely blossom. So far he has shown us that he is calmer than your average Jack Russel, but when he's feeling left out he sure acts all shook up! He could definitely sing you a few unchained melodies. He does know how to sit and stay, leading us to believe he may have been let out as a stray due to his health issues. Burrowing in blankets on the couch, treats and toys are always on his mind, and we are sure he would be a great companion to someone who enjoys a laid back lifestyle.  The more you look at his handsome face the more you can't help falling in love with this hound dog. Open your home and heart to some burnin love from Elvis!  Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. **Update** Due to Felix's age and medical needs, we are offering him as a "fospice" dog. Potential approved home would care for his daily needs and take him to and from our vet here in Palm Harbor. All food, medications, and vet expenses will be paid for by the rescue. Please fill out an application if interested in giving Felix the best end of life care! Felix is golf course ready and looking for a happy retirement! He is a 13 year old terrier mix boy who  has been with us almost a year and is finally ready for our adoption page! Felix has battled some pretty severe skin issues since coming to join Canine Estates, and has turned a new leaf in his treatment. His skin is no longer inflamed and irritated, his fur has grown back nicely, and he no longer needs a list of medications to keep him happy. That is not to say he won't need some diligent maintenance to keep his allergies in check, so we are listing him as special needs. He will need regular checks with the vet to ensure his health. He is on a hypoallergenic diet and monthly cytopoint injections, as well as medicated baths 3 times a week and some topical ointments in case of flare up. He needs daily baby wipes to his feet and face whenever he comes in from the outside. He also has dry eye and needs lubricant drops daily. Felix is a sweet old man who loves to snuggle and sleep most of the day, but also enjoys his time in the sun. His favorite time is meal time, and he will let you know it with some demanding barks! When he's not hungry, he's quiet as a mouse and loves to nap his days away. He would be fine with all cats, kids, and mellow dogs. He is such a sweet senior that truly deserves a nice quiet loving home for his golden years.  Bonus points include: a killer haircut that's ready to be styled away. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. Special boy available for Special needs lovers!!! Sweet Freddie is just 4/5 years old and loves all that life has to offer him. He is about 12lbs and full of love to give, always scooting over to the nearest person for some loving. He has no use of his hind legs, we think since birth, but doesn't let his disability slow him down one bit! Traditional wheelchairs are not a good fit for him and instead he will use a scooter if needed (on pavement), but he's also fine on his own around the house and yard, as long as he's wearing his pants! He also rides very well in a stroller. He needs belly bands and pants to protect his skin from being rubbed too much, and appreciates his frequent baths and blowdryings to keep him smelling fresh and clean. He is a healthy boy and currently on a urinary diet to help his bladder stay healthy. He has had extensive bloodwork and xrays, and is currently healthy as can be. Bonuses include: being able to treat a dog like an actual baby. He rolls over and shows his belly for diaper changes and belly scratches, becomes the most excited at the sight of his stroller, and is a big spoiled love bug. His hair can also be put into a top knot, which we feel is very important information. Freddie is available as a "fospice" dog, where the rescue retains ownership and pays all of his medical and care expenses, and his potention foster parent will take care of his daily needs and transport him to and from our vet in Palm Harbor. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet. Say hi to Homer! This happy little 17lb, 10 year old terrier boy is a joy to be around and cannot wait to find his furever family. Originally found as a stray, he is healing nicely from an advanced skin infection, with most of his scruffy blond fur starting to come back in nicely. Homer's initial exam and labwork looked great and he is a healthy boy for his age, his only issue being a slight heart murmur that does not currently need medication. He is scheduled for a neuter, hernia repair, and dental in late August and will be vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home early September. Homer walks well on a leash and loves everyone he meets. A typical terrier, he is snuggly, scrappy, and vocal, loves toys, and has just the best personality. He gets along with most dogs if properly introduced and supervised, and would likely be fine with older, respectful children. We are also able to cat test him if needed. He will need a refresher course on potty training, which should improve with time after his neuter(and a consistent schedule), and also wears a belly band without protest. Please fill out an application and we will call you once approved to set up a meet and greet.
