Pets Without Parents Columbus

629 Oakland Park Ave, Columbus, OH, 43214

Shelter Description

Pets Without Parents, founded in June of 2001, is a non-profit, no-kill, all-breed shelter for dogs and cats. Our mission is to place every pet that enters our shelter into a loving, permanent home; to motivate our local community to support our shelter, its no-kill mission, and spay-neuter efforts through donation, volunteer, and adoption opportunities...until every pet goes home. We strive to create a community that nurtures and respects companion animals, and to someday see that every pet is loved. In order to create such a community, Pets Without Parents functions as a pet adoption shelter, carefully placing pets into forever homes.

Adoption Instructions

We are excited that you are choosing to adopt! To start the adoption process, please submit an adoption application. If you are interested in a specific pet, please let us know by indicating their name. We will process your application as quickly as possible. Most applications take about 48 hours to process. Please help us out by notifying your references, veterinarian, and landlord that we will be calling. Once your application's screening is complete, we will contact you to arrange a visit to the shelter! Please feel free to contact us to see if a pet of interest has any other holds or for us to answer any questions you may have about the adoption process, our organization, or our pets. We are happy to help you find 'the one'. They are looking for you too!

Finley was found by a Good Sam that was worried she had been hit by a car. Finley was carrying one of her front legs and was in a lot of pain. X-rays showed no fractures, so strict rest was implemented with pain medications. Finley is finally recovered and using her limb normally. She is ready to find a family to take over her care! Fin is an energentic girl that has a LOT to say. She almost yodels through the shelter when she feels ignored. Finley's ideal family will own their home, use positive reinforcement, and enjoy her zest for life personality. Finley is a smart girl that wants a person to play lots of games and teach her new things. Finley is approximately 5 months old, still working on housebreaking, and estimated to be approximately 60 pounds once fully grown. Finley has met a few dogs and likes to play after introductions. She has been a little too much mouthy puppy energy for most of her new friends. She would do best as a single pet or with a well mannered larger male dog and no children. Finley is nervous about new people and experiences. She has learned some coping skills at PWP, but is a work in progress. We are excited about her acheivements, but need a new adopter to be ready for a little homework.  Adoption fee: $240 includes her spay, initial vaccines and deworming.  If interested, please submit an adoption application online via our website, www.petswithoutparents.net. Once processed, we will contact you to arrange an appointment to visit. We are happy to help you meet "the one" all 7 days of the week!
