PO Box 21354, Albuquerque, NM, 87154

Rescue/Shelter Description

We are a foster-based group in NM dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable animals: neonates, special needs, and those from under-served areas of NM. We strive to improve the quality of life of each pet while in our care and find best adoptive homes!

Areas Served

We cover the state of New Mexico and the Navajo nation which is Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, Southern Colorado and New Mexico. We also serve West Texas and Eastern Arizona. In addition, we take in special needs pets from Colorado, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and Mexico. We work hand in hand with the Mia Foundation which rescues neonates born with cleft palates.

Gretta is a single lady who knows what she wants in a family! She will be interviewing you as much as you are interviewing her. Lol. Don't worry...Gretta's not a harsh critic, but she is going to need someone that can provide an active home life. She likes to go for walks and hikes and do all sorts of outdoor activities. Gretta is a cattle dog mix born approximately 1/26/21. She would do best with a family who has experience with cattle dogs and knows their unique personality traits. Gretta is going to need someone who can provide a lot of structure in her life. She is not fond of cats and is busy enough that small children would not likely be a good fit. But she does do okay with other dogs with slow introductions. She's not a dog that will lay around the house all day, but she's also not a dog that is going to drive you nuts with lots of energy. For adoption inquiries, please go to bthnm.org, find this pet’s picture and click on the Adopt button. That will take you to the adoption application that you need to fill out. All of our pets are in foster homes in the greater Albuquerque area. The steps to getting a new furry friend include: the completion of an adoption application, a home visit, and an adoption approval, along with the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $175 and includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, chip, and age appropriate vaccines. We look forward to helping you complete your family, soon. show less

Hi, my name is Reese (as in Reese's Peanutbutter cup) and I'm looking for my perfect furever home!  I am an awesome mixture of many breeds; Mom is about 30 lbs (Candy Sweets, if you want to see her) and I don't remember Dad. My foster mom is guessing that I might grow to be 30-40lbs.  I am currently being raised by my Mom with my 6 siblings in a home with 2 dogs and a cat!  I'm the runt, but I hold my own with my siblings, so I would enjoy a home with another small/medium sized dog. I will be ready to go to my furever home on about August 16, after I have my second vaccination. Special note:  I have an Inguinal hernia and will have to be watched a little extra to make sure nothing gets twisted.  It may resolve on its own, otherwise, it will be fixed when I get spayed at around 6 months of age. All of our pets are in foster homes in the greater Albuquerque area. The steps to getting a new furry friend include: the completion of an adoption application, a home visit, and an adoption approval, along with the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $275 and includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, chip, and age appropriate vaccines. We look forward to helping you complete your family, soon. Please go to bthnm.org and click on Adopt to be taken to the adoption application. Thanks! show less

Hi!! My name is Spoon, and I am just the handsomest fellow you ever will see! I'm a male border collie mix born approximately November 2018. I am very curious and adventurous!! I don't like to be contained to yard I prefer to go on walkabouts of the neighborhood. But unlike Crocodile Dundee, I don't have the skills to navigate the great outdoors. So I need a home with a secure fence, at least 6 ft, or a covered dog run for my time outside. But I still hope I can sleep on your bed every night! I'm the sweetest fella too!! I get along well with dogs. I haven't been around cats but I'm sure I could learn. I'm a medium sized dog about 50-60 lbs. Something important that you should know about Spoon is that he is an adept escape artist. If you are interested in him and are contacted for a meet and greet, please talk with the foster to make certain your environment will allow for a safe place for him. There will be no out of state adoptions for Spoon. We look forward to helping you complete your family, soon. show less
