PO Box 21354, Albuquerque, NM, 87154

Shelter Description

We are a foster-based group in NM dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable animals: neonates, special needs, and those from under-served areas of NM. We strive to improve the quality of life of each pet while in our care and find best adoptive homes!

Areas Served

We cover the state of New Mexico and the Navajo nation which is Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, Southern Colorado and New Mexico. We also serve West Texas and Eastern Arizona. In addition, we take in special needs pets from Colorado, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and Mexico. We work hand in hand with the Mia Foundation which rescues neonates born with cleft palates.

Hi!! My name is Peaches, and I am a little snow bunny!!! I am looking for an active household who will take me on long hikes and possibly even teach me to snowboard. Playing in the snow is my absolute favorite thing!!! I might enjoy camping and sleeping under the stars. I am a 2.5 year old corgi pitty blend, so I am short and stocky. I am very powerful but don't hold that against me...I walk very well on a leash. I have been to obedience training and am house broken. I am crate trained and will run right in for a cookie. I have been attacked by larger dogs so it takes me a little bit to warm up...can you blame me? I am good with other animals, but would recommend a household without young kids just because of my powerful nature. Won't you take me home today? Petra is a gorgeous three year old Husky Heeler blend, barely 45 pounds. Like many husky blends she loves to talk. Not only does she talk but she argues. If you don't give her what she wants when she wants it, she will let you know she is displeased with the service with a cutest little yowl. She also sneaks up behind her foster mom and pokes her with her nose every morning to get her to hurry up with her breakfast. Petra is just the right mixture of wackiness and whimsy. Petra has a fantastic personality once you get past her shyness. She warms up with treats and plenty of patience. If you're willing to give this sweet, whimsical girl your time, you will not regret it. She will make a wonderful addition to any home. She does well with gentle positive redirection in case she does something naughty as all dogs do from time to time. She does well around other dogs. She's very playful but understands small dogs she need to be more gentle. She's a very smart dog and is already learned house training and crate training. Her current foster is working on leash skills so you can take her for hikes or walks along the Bosque. She loves all kinds of toys but is a strong chewer so Kong toys tend to work the best. She even tosses her toys so she can catch them herself. She's very independent and just the perfect amount of spunk. Petra has done well around children in the past, but as with all big dogs you'll need a slow introduction. What have you got? Is it something FUN? Hi! My name is Vincent and I am a male black and brown Lab blend born on April 15, 2021. My foster says I am a very sweet and playful pup with lots of energy. I would really like to be your best buddy and be next to you whenever I can. I’m learning my basic commands and walking on a leash! I’m in that teething stage, so I’ll probably need some chew toys for my size. I’m getting better at learning that I need to go outside to pee and poop. I do like to herd, so you’ll have to work with me on that. I would love to cuddle on your lap. I’m good with other dogs, but I’d need time to get used to those other furry critters that humans have. Don’t I sound like fun? You should check me out! For adoption inquiries, please go to bthnm.org, find this pet’s picture and click on the Adopt button.
