Able is a handsome boy that is what we call a Unicorn Dog - Fun, playful, socialized, crate-trained, travels well, and likes to cuddle too. He has a smidge of perhaps Rhodesian Ridgeback in him, as he has this unique hairline down his back. Otherwise, he seems all Dutchie!  Able is a dream dog in his crate - so quiet, calm and enjoying a peanut butter bone, sleeping or gazing at what is going on. Potty training - oh yeah, he does this cute One-Bark alert for early morning "I gotta goooo."  He'll even go potty in a drizzling rain! He travels great in a car too!  He seems to have been properly socialized as he is great with random people and dogs. Just a wonderful dog to take places. He still has plenty of energy and bounce though, so don't be fooled. He does love to play! But he isn't super hyper, he is perfect!  Able loves attention and is a sweet, sweet boy. He is smart, willing and a people-pleaser. He might even enjoy kiddos and be their best bud.  He may also enjoy the camping lifestyle where he gets to meet lots of folks and other dogs. We haven't cat tested yet, so we will have to wait to see if he is ABLE to live with cats. He had an interest in chickens, but after a few negative tone corrections he turned away to get praise and treats. He did GREAT at the vet's office and they quickly fell in love, and so will you.  If you love the Dutchie coat and temperment and appreciate a bit of uniqueness, this dog may be the one for you!! Allegiance is an enthusiastic and lively pup who absolutely adores playing ball and sprinting around. He has a great rapport with other dogs and is incredibly intelligent, making excellent strides with obedience training. Toys, balls, chews, and stuffed animals are amongst his favorite things. Although he can get a little too excited during mealtimes, he waits patiently for his turn and never shows any hostility. In fact, he is so food motivated that he has been doing wonderfully with some hand-feeding training, demonstrating remarkable gentleness. His leash training is also going splendidly, and he is even quite comfortable with baths and water. While he still has much to learn, Allegiance is making fantastic progress and has enormous potential. He's incredibly curious and loves to explore, but we've had to limit his access to the first floor for now as he has a habit of investigating everything with his mouth. However, with more toys and focused play, he's become more engaged and less prone to doing this.  He's a good sleeper and does well in his crate at night, although he does need a bit of a bribe to go in initially. He does have a bit of a prey drive, but can be easily distracted with the right motivation. Allie is a 1.5 year old female Malinois with an incredibly strong ball drive. She can go nonstop, but she also has a great off switch. Her energy level is around 7 out of 10, which means she can really match the energy of her owner. Allie is a big cuddler and loves being close to her person. She walks nicely on a leash and is working on some basic commands like down, stay, and place.  She's friendly with other dogs, confident but not dominant. She won't let another dog walk all over her, but she's not interested in starting any fights either. She's pretty indifferent towards new people and does not actively seek attention from them. However, she'll gladly accept pets if approached correctly.  She's great with kids and allows them to approach her, or she'll go to them.  She can sometimes get nippy when she's excited so older children or dog savvy younger children will be a better fit. Argos is low/medium energy and drive and is a very loving pup. Loves people (and kids), car rides, and getting pets. She is good with other dogs after proper and very slow introductions and plays rather well but she is an energizer bunny and she will not turn into a pumpkin at midnight but rather get her second wind. I was the goodest girl for the Guy who cleaned me up and fixed my broken leg, I didn't need any meds to keep me calm. My Foster mom says I am melting her heart with all my kisses. Aurora #madlovesaurora is a two and half year old, female, Belgian Malinois. With a heavy heart, her owner had to surrender her due to health issues. It is very apparent that Miss Aurora was very loved and really enjoys cuddling and being the center of attention. She has pearly whites that she loves to show off by either smiling or trying to act tough. She is praise, treat, and toy motivated. When she accepts you as part of her pack, she insists that belly rubs are a must and she will literally sit in or on your lap. She has learned the daily routine of her foster home very quickly. Since coming into her foster home, she has not had one accident inside and will alert you when she needs to go outside, although most times she does want you to come with her. Her favorite game is keep away and she will play tug. She can also come inside and just crash on the couch next to you and be very content.  Where she needs focus and attention to be one of the best pups ever is in the following areas. She is reactive to new situations and things especially on car rides.  A few walks and we have been working on the command “Leave it” and rewarding with treats and she is progressing well. New guests, especially males will be met with lots of barking, but my tail is wagging and you may get a lick or a small nibble if you move to quickly, but she has never bitten hard. She prefers woman to men and likes kids around the age of 12. We have not had her around any younger children as their quick movements could scare her. She is very alert and new noises can start her barking. A few pets and reassuring words normally help her to calm quickly. She can be caught trying to see what is on the counters or table, so her curiosity has to be kept in check. She will pick up toys and things and put them in her mouth and then the game of drop it and let go begins. We are working on this as well. I think her cuteness and lovable personality, maybe had led to a bit of spoiling in the past.  She requires slow and proper introductions to other dogs.She has worn a muzzle in the past and puts it on without struggle. Her foster home used one for her safety and the safety of her foster sisters during the first few interactions. The only negative interactions with her sisters are generally over the fact that she absolutely wants to be the center of attention.  Would not recommend a household with small animals or young children. She is ready for an experienced handler that has breed experience to help her grow into her full potential. She is a typical Malinois and you can see the gears turning behind her eyes. She really deserves a good home where she can be the center of your world and you will quickly become the center of hers. show less

Located in Ohio, Axel is a highly energetic, 100% Belgian Malinois. This boy thrives on constant activity. He needs exercise and lots of it. After all, he is the stereotypical Mal. While he will chase a ball from time to time, his favorite pastime is playing tug with his toys. Axel thrives on a structured routine filled with clear guidelines and training sessions. He’s happiest when put to work and can channel his boundless vigor productively. The perfect match for Axel would be an individual or family that matches his high-octane lifestyle, ideally with ample time to dedicate solely to him. He forms strong attachments to his humans and prefers a home where he doesn’t need to vie for attention. While he coexists with other dogs, his upbeat personality can be overwhelming for more subdued canine companions. In his current foster home, Axel has aced crate training, contentedly spending up to eight hours a night in his sturdy ZINGER crate. He greets new people with cautious barks but warms up once he senses they're friends. Axel is a regular at dog-friendly stores, and while he may show curiosity towards other dogs, he’s not aggressive. Axel’s recall is nearly flawless, adhering to commands even amidst distractions like wildlife—though cats are his Achilles' heel. Axel boasts a robust frame, standing 25"-26" tall at the shoulder and weighing 75 pounds, with a solid, muscular build. He's not the lean type of Malinois; he carries a presence as vibrant as his spirit, and people will stop and stare when they see him. Those familiar with the breed will appreciate him. His intelligence is on par with his physical attributes; he’s treat-driven and knows a repertoire of commands, including prolonged sit/stay. He will also roll over and even play dead. There’s a world of potential for what he could learn next. Axel has previously lived with children and enjoys playful pursuits, but given his size and tendency to mouth, a home with no children or older children would be ideal. His high prey drive makes him unsuitable for homes with cats, small dogs, or other small animals, as he is inclined to chase them with intent if not supervised, however out and about with his owner, his prey drive is curbed with his near perfect recall. In essence, Axel is a spirited, devoted companion in search of a home that understands and celebrates the essence of his breed. He’s a happy guy who needs a family to give him what he needs. Meet Barry, a 1–2 year-old Malinois! This deep voiced crooner is the BIGGEST dopey lovebug. We should have named him Leggy because he sure is a tall one! This big boy wants nothing more than to curl up on top of you and snuggle on the couch and watch TV. He is a very low energy malinois, needs less than 2–4 hours of exercise per day. He is picking up quick on his obedience, already learning sit, down, stay, wait. Crate trained, potty trained, not a huge wanderer and is doing well on recall training. No barrier aggression, no dog aggression, no cat aggression, no livestock aggression (including chickens), no resource (food or toy) guarding. In fact we have seen zero aggression at all despite being thoroughly temperament tested, not even a growl. He does not have a mean bone in his body. He has no ball drive and does not seem be a working or sport candidate but we don't mind because he sure makes up for it with his sweetness. He loves all children and instantly gives them the lean of love while staring at them dreamily. His preferred stance is on his back with all 4 paws in the air because why would you do anything else than rub his belly? He truly is a dog that just wants to hang out and chill. He loves going on walks and does well on a leash. He would do well with another dog in the house. He seems to do well at all energy levels from eeyore to border collie. The only negative we have seen is a little bit of separation anxiety but he respects the crate and is non destructive. He barks for a few minutes, then lays down and goes to sleep. Meet Bella Sue, a little Southern Belle in South Texas. Bella Sue is a beautiful pocket Mal just under 50 lbs. Don’t let her size fool you … she can spring up like a kangaroo! Need an exercise buddy?  Want to do agility training with your dog?  Bella Sue is your girl! Although she can be timid when first meeting someone, she warms up and then loves to be with her people.  Shut down when she came out of a kill shelter in TX, she is now a much more confident and happy girl!  Bella Sue is amazing with younger and older children, good in the house, housebroken, crate trained and has made great progress in her obedienc training.  This gal also walks well on a leash and is learning to play with toys.  As she has been playing with other dogs who chase balls, her ball drive has been getting much stronger!    Bella Sue plays well with medium to large sized dogs and would benefit from being in a home with a neutral, confident dog (although this is not a must have). Blu is a healthy, intelligent and energetic 1.5-2 year old high-drive Dutch Shepherd/German Shepherd (60/40) mix who is looking for his forever person. Within a few days after rescuing Blu from the shelter it was apparent he was an exceptional dog with enormous untapped potential. He has been at a local board and train in Florida known for its expertise with shepherds and working breeds. He is doing awesome and everyone’s favorite dog at the facility; working on socialization, leash handling, and general obedience. Building confidence with leash work, impulse control, and releasing items have been primary skills for Blu. Also, he is naturally cautious dog, so he’s worked on comfortability around people. His foster prior to training shared that he stole their hearts immediately: smart, alert, affectionate (with those he trusts), eager to please, always ready to work, obedient, and full of personality. Blu is a dynamo and, with the right leadership, will be a faithful and devoted dog. A single-family home would be ideal for Blu without small animals or children.  Potential for living with another large dog in the home with proper introductions. Update 11/24/23:  Looking for a new best pal for you and your dog(s)?  Brisket could be your perfect choice!  Just six months old, this handsome, spunky guy absolutely loves playing with his foster sisters, teasing them by taking their toys or romping and wrestling with them in the snow.  And while he is energetic, he also has a solid down switch, and enjoys chewing on a favorite bone or just cozying up on his favorite dog bed.  He is still a bit wary of new people, but it doesn’t take him long to lick their hand and approach them. Brisket is a total love-bug, and frequently comes running for pets and caresses.  He adores being cuddled and just hanging out close to his foster mom.  Outside, when not playing with his sisters, he is playing tug with his foster mom, learning to chase balls or on the sniff, searching out mice or interesting scents in the ground.  He may be a good candidate for scent work! Brisket is fantastic with kids; he just adores them!  He has been tested once with neighborhood cats, and showed some mild chase interest in one who ran, and was completely bored with the one who just sat and looked at him, so it is very likely that he can be in a home with dog savvy cats with a bit of training. Brisket is now house-broken and crate trained.  He sleeps quietly in his crate at night, usually without a potty break, and whimpers softly if he needs to go outside to potty.  He knows the basic commands of “sit” “down” and “come,” with treat rewards and is improving in his overall recall and ability to “leave it.”  Ready for a dog with the perfect blend of energy, intelligence and affectionate nature?  Brisket may be your perfect pup! Cagney fka as Leila, came into rescue from a shelter situation with another dog and was hospitalized due to a severe upper respiratory infection that she survived! She is fully recovered and ready for her furrever home. She is approximately age 14 month and  is spayed and up-do-date on vaccinations. She's a high energy girl, but does not show much tug or ball drive.She may not have ever been introduced to either. She does have a high prey drive towards livestock. Will chase cattle.. doesn’t show herding instinct.. lol. Just scatter. Frenzy type work. Small dogs, cats, chickens, etc.. are all a no go..  She is super friendly, over zealous at times. Would probably be too much for children. When over stimulated becomes jumpy and nippy.  She's been working on barrier reactivity... and showing improvement.  Cagney likes other dogs,  though currently she can play rough and can be a bit dog selective. She is food motivated! Kennel/crate trained. Extremely nervous still in house. But will eventually be fine. Has a sweet personality.Is a quick study!! Wants a job, wants to learn!! Chloe was surrendered by her previous owners through no fault of her own- family had a change of circumstances and could no longer care for her.    Chloe is a shy velcro pup who was very close to her people. She is smart, attentive, alert, and inquisitive. She has HIGH ball drive, toy drive, and will play tug.    Chloe would do best being the only dog, or a VERY SLOW introduction. Chloe seems to like submissive dogs. Chloe lacks confidence, but upon becoming more confident she would likely seek to play with other dogs, and look to people for love.  Chloe would do well with age 10 and above breed savvy children. Cumo currently located in the Atlanta GA area is a 1-2 year old neutered male Belgian Malinois. He was brought into safety by MAD Rescue from the shut down of the Malinois Ranch Rescue in Tennessee where he endured deplorable conditions.   He was underweight, HW positive and infested with worms. His worn down teeth, partial ear, and smashed foot tell a story of neglect and pain that we will never understand. You would never know it when meeting him. Once he was safe with MAD his foster mom said he really enjoyed his bath and he is good with you petting and touching him all over. He thinks water is fun. He is super friendly, dog neutral and would love to have a dog friend similar in size and energy to play with.  He is learning just how to be a dog.  He is housebroken, crate trained, rides beautifully in a car tethered or in a crate. He knows some basic commands like sit, down, kennel and has no resource guarding tendencies. He lived a good part of his life in a kennel and loves to sleep and rest in the comfort and safety of his crate. He loves balls, snuggling, belly rubs and loves to be included and near his person. He is eager to please, food motivated and seems to have a pretty good nose.    He is now clear of all parasites, up to date on his vaccines and received his last heartworm injection on 10/30/23.  Cumo's special gift is that he loves raw vegetables. He said he never experienced such delicious food and is all in on: carrots, bell peppers, broccoli, baby tomatoes, pureed pumpkin.  Cumo has a decent prey drive so small animals and cats would not be a match for him.  He also counter surfs if given the opportunity.  He has a thing for pillows and needs to be given safe outlets for his chewing.  He is strong but does good when using a pinch collar on walks.    What Cumo needs is you. MAD Dustin was trapped in an area in FL called the Redlands.  It's an area know for dogs being dupped.  Neighbords said they saw him for about 2 weeks before local volunteers were able to trap him. We got him all checked out and up to date on vaccines. Dustin is a neutered male 7 months approximate age and he is one fun puppy! He would make a great office dog for someone working from home and has the resume to prove it. He enjoys snuggling with his fosters, during t.v. time. He gets along well with the fosters dog, but will be vocal when playing. He sometimes needs a reminder to take a break during play. He is food motivated and will need a slow feeder as he loves to eat. He has a keen sense of smell and is able to find moles in the yard, may be a good barn hunt candidate. He also loves to run and chase the “rabbit” on the foster’s lure course. The foster reports he does well on the leash, but does still pull to see things. Foster reports he learned sit within a week. He has not cared for or bothered the chickens. He has also been good with children 10 years old, so would likely do well with dog savvy children 10+. He will continue working on potty training and crate training, but has practiced in his foster home and has grown. This older gent is as sweet and mellow as they come. The name El Capitan, Spanish for “The Captain” and the name of a mountain peak in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, suits this boy well. He’s had a mountain to hurdle in healing from an infected old bite wound on his rump and fly strike on his ear tips.Like a salty old ship's captain, he's likely been through things over his life that have made him the resilient, mellow old boy he is now. El Capitan is on the younger side of senior, most likely around 7 years old, and he's looking for family to call his own. He would be an excellent first Dutch Shepherd/Malinois. We aren’t positive of his breeds, but he looks to be at least half Dutch Shepherd. He’s pretty calm and easy, doesn’t pull on a leash and is housebroken. He shows slight interest in squirrels and small critters (he’ll bark at them taunting him from outside ), but he is easily redirected. And while he mostly ignores other dogs, he is a bit dog selective. He’s not a fan of barky little dogs and will grump back at dogs who grump at him over a fence (nothing out of control, just a little grumping). We’re still getting to know this sweet boy, but so far he seems to know how to sit, and he really just wants to do what you ask him to do. We will be testing him with cats and kids this week. And we will start working with him this week to see what he knows and doesn’t know. What we do know about him is that he truly is just a gentle old soul who needs a family to love him and appreciate his mellow sweetness and slow pace. Ella is a super sweet young girl who just wants belly rubs and has an overall great off switch! She also loves going on walks and hikes! She’s very biddable and wants to please. She has medium energy and loves to play tug! She is liking her crate and will choose to hang out in it sometimes. She is very good on her cot, working on place command, even under distractions. She's learning lots of obedience from her foster and is starting to master recall. She is great in the house and not destrcutive at all! Her foster says she is the easiest dog to have around, so cuddly and sweet as well as playful. We prefer a home where someone is home a lot as she doesn't like being on her own for extended periods of time. She loves her furry foster sister annd they would play all day if they could. Ella is a bit slow to warm with other dogs, definititely prefers humans, but once she is used to another dog, she is all game and play! Proper and slow introductions are a must with her! She has been around children ages 10 and up and did really well! Untested w/ very small children but given her lower drive and energy levels she could do well but supervision is always expected! She would happily lay on the couch and get pets all day or go on adventures and play. She will make a wonderful companion dog for someone!
