If you are looking for a sweet, cuddly lap dog Maggie might be the girl for you. Maggie is a 12 lb. spaniel/hound mix and around 3 years old. She came to Buffalo from W. Virginia with her 4 beautiful puppies who were just 12 hours old on the transport. She is an absolute sweetheart and has been a wonderful mother. She came from an abusive home that has been known to hoard dogs, all 14 of the dogs on that transport were from the same home. She was very scared when she first arrived but has not once shown any form of aggression to anyone. It took her 9 days to wag her tail for her foster, prior to that she would shake and put her head down. Her babies are working on eating on their own and Maggie is going to be looking for her forever home. She would do best in a home that is quieter, kids are great, but older ones would work best. She is a complete lap dog, there is no place she would rather be. We are working on crate training and she is doing great with housebreaking. She does have a little separation anxiety when her foster mom is home and she cannot see her, but hopefully once she is away from her puppies that will subside a bit. She is doing good with walking on a leash and is usually behind her foster mom, following the lead. She is going to need someone patient and someone who is looking for an additional shadow. She is in a foster home with cats and 3 dogs of all sizes. She has been around children 4yrs-19yrs old. She is a little slow to warm up but does so quickly once she feels she can trust you. She will be ready for adoption after 10/26/21.   show less
