Hi! I'm Bella the Believer, and here is my journey so far... My new friends at Sauver Des Chiens (SDC) received a call from a kind lady that got my number from Rosenberg Animal Control. The lady was crying and begging for help. She was so sad and upset because you see, my owner just passed away, and she took me in when no one else in the family could care for me. Unfortunately, she lived in apartments, and I can't go up and down stairs. 😔 Sauver Des Chiens knew they had to help. They have a soft spot for older gals like me! So now, I'm with my new foster momma, Brooke! I'm about 7 years old, and the doctor says that I have hip problems. The doctor wants me on a diet ASAP to see if that helps my mobility... so my journey as an SDC pupper has begun. Where did the name Bella the Believer come from? I am not giving up, and if YOU all Believe I can get better, then, perhaps I can! show less

Dex, here. A little of my background. The City of Jasper (Texas) Animal Control picked me up after a recent hurricane, where I was living. I had been tied to a tree, outside, my entire young life. SDC knew I'd do great with them, and I became an SDC pup 11/14/20. I am a male, neutered GSD. Current on all my shots, and have had heartworm treatments. I feel great, now! I'm a bit shy at first, so my foster mom and dad made sure to slowly introduce me and their pups. We have so much fun playing! I enjoy my human(s), love, snuggles, playing, snuggles, yep said it twice! My ideal home will help continue my training, proper introduction to other dogs, and have plenty of snuggles! Hey there – Whatca doin? Wanna Play? I’m Ivy. I am just a baby still, and I love to play and run zoomies, and be petted – I love petting so much, I will drop and give you my belly to rub. They call me Ivy, but they also call me, a bundle of love and energy. I think it is a good thing. A little thing about me is that I have M.E. I don’t know the actual name of it, but basically, my food pipe doesn’t quite work right on its own, so I get my food chopped up in a blender, and a special upright chair to eat it. I rock it too! I have finally come to understand that when the blender starts, it means FOOD!! I now go to my chair, and will back into on my own; All you have to do is put the arm down and give me my chow. I even sit still for the 20 minutes after eating to let all the food settle in my tummy. I am finally starting to gain some weight! Thanks to all these people at SDC that take such good care of me. I would really love to find a forever family that wouldn’t mind blending up my food a few times a day. I promise to be patient as you learn how to mix it. In return I vow to shower you with kisses, cuddles and endless games of fetch and chase. I am loyal to death. Can YOU see past my M.E. and see how awesome I am? Hope to meet you soon…. Laura - named after the 2020 Hurricane Laura that hit Louisiana.  She is from Louisiana...a little cajun.  Laura is about 2 years old, beautiful light colored German Shepherd Dog.  She is up to date on vaccines, has been spayed and is Heartworm Positive.  She is currently on the program to have Heart Worm Treatment end of December or early January.  Rescue covers expenses for that. She is a very sweet dog.  Easy going, good with other dogs, good with children, unsure of cats.  She would be good in a home with youngsters as well as a quiet home.   Due to her positive Heart Worm Status, she is available for Local Adoption only at this time.  Houston Metro show less

Millie was a stray picked up in Houston, TX and taken to Barc shelter.  We found her there, she was frightened and nippy.  The shelter is a horrible place for dogs, so cold and uninviting, loud noises and barking dogs. She is about 5 years old and has had time to decompress and is doing well.  She has an odd teeth chatter at times when nervous. She is meeting new dogs and people and adjusting.  She has been with us about a month now and has put on some weight and her foster Mom is working with her to overcome her social skills.  At this time we would recommend a home with no small children. She is current on all vaccines, has been spayed and is Heart Worm Positive.  She is on Doxycycline and scheduled to have Heart Worm treatment next month.  Due to the treatment we will need to find foster or foster to adopt in the Local Area of Houston Metro.   show less

FOREVER FOSTER NEEDED Mr. Brown was found on the streets of Houston by Amber Rochelle Moore.  She took him directly to Long Drive Dog and Cat Hospital.  He was given all vaccines and microchip and tested positive for HW, begin Doxy. We believe he is 4-5 years old.  Very friendly, loves belly rubs, good with other dogs. It is with great sadness that we find Mr. Man has Stage 2 Renal Failure.  We are currently looking for a forever show less

Stanton loves everyone. He wants to be near you all the time. He is completely housebroken and loves to go on walks and his latest hobby is stalking and chasing squirrels. He has taught my other dogs to howl when they hear a siren..lol!! He is really quiet and well mannered but will bark and jump at the horses (separated by a fence) when we are in the pasture with them. He seems to think they will hurt us!! When introduced to a new person he will look to us to get our approval that that person is okay!! He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered.  He is HW positive, it is vet recommendation that we not do injection treatments, he also has hip displaysia and vet recommends supplements and Adequan injections.  This does not slow him down, he is a wonderful dog...with a lot of life left to live!!! Please consider Stanton as perhaps a second dog, he will love you for the rest of his days. show less

Syl is a very special dog.  We rescued him with his mother Mama Sue late last year. He takes a while to warm up and become part of the family, but once he does, he is yours forever.  He is loving and happy, and loves other dogs and his persons.  He does need help with other introductions to people.  He becomes quite attached and protective.   He is not a mean dog, will just give strangers a deep bark and hackles up. We are looking for an experienced adopter for Syl.  He is about 8 - 10 months.  Loves his toys and to run in the backyard.  He is up to date on vaccines, neutered and HW negative. show less

Written by Zoey's Foster's 10 year old daughter. Zoey is a wonderful dog, she is kind,loyal and absolutely LOVES TREATS! Once I made some treats and she went CRAZY for them! Zoey is awesome with dogs, we have our own dog named Roxy. They have a good relationship with each other and play a lot.They are always having fun whenever I go and check on them. Zoey is always smiling and having a good time. Overall zoey is a really good dog, and awesome with other dogs! She is good with other dogs, a little bit shy but gets along really well. Does not bark unnecessarily - good in kennel, let's you know when she has to go out and pee. Loves the outdoors/backyard way more then inside. Good with kids 10 and 7, not sure about cats as we don't have any. Overall she is very good and dependable, we got her to understand sit (sometimes) and are still working on the other commands. show less
